In this video we're having a quick look at the new Seiko Alpinist Rock Face Edition SPB355J1. It's a limited edition model (3000pcs) for the European market only. I've already reviewed at least 3 Alpinist models on the channel before but this one is the first to feature a textured dial.

Own it and love it !! Only weakness to be noted is readibility in low light is poor also the lume is not impressive ... the big plus however is the dial in the sunshine is stunning ! will look for a bracelet for it

I put mine on the Sarx001 bracelet. Fits pretty solid and looks great! The downside is they are harder to get a hold of and look to pay about $200 for them.

Hi how's the crown operation on your watch am having a nightmare 😮with mine can't seem to catch the thread 1st go beautiful timepiece over than my crown issue not like my other watches I own.

Hi, the crown operation on mine is about the same as you say. To screw it in easily I press it in and turn it in the opposite direction until I can feel a click. Then I change the direction and it screws in right aways.

Love it, will get one soon. Personally I really don't want a lot of flash packaging, it only ends up filling the wardrobe and I'd rather the money go on the watch itself. Agree, would be much nicer on a bracelet. The price isn't bad imho, imagine what it'd cost if it was Swiss! Good review, thank you 👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks Steve! Yes, it all depends on the point of view. I mean, it's a Seiko, the dial is gorgeous, in-house movement and so on. I guess what messes up my judgement is the fact I got my sarb017 for 400 eur or so a few years ago.

Very nice piece, but anyway this is not my favorite dial in the Alpinist line up. And the price is too high in my humble opinion even for a limited edition.

It's a beautiful watch but price bothers me as well. The fact that I got my Alpinist Sarb017 is something I just can't forget.
