They look great !! I wish they made the mounting brackets, aluminum for weight reduction, and the front cover between the lights, carbon fiber, but I’m loving the easy plug and play just like all their other products
I bought Kleen Moto's mounting kit for the Rigid Adapt XP lights. I love the look and it's a great DIY project. All my other lights are Custom Dynamics though.
I personally think the light bar across the front is the next move. I have Baja Designs lights right now. I would have purchased these if they were available last year. Glad to see CD join the party. DOT approved is a definite plus. Thanks for the video John.
I don’t have a problem with cheap knock off look-alikes. However, I do have a problem with this video. you are clearly not an advocate for DOT approved or legal products on your bike, which is evidenced in the amazing build of Mad Max. I love that bike. It just seems disingenuous to primarily promote a product because of its DOT approval instead of its performance because I know you are all about performance. I know you have to pay the bills, but please stay true to the core of who you are. Much respect.
First off, my performance upgrades that I did to my bike, will never affect anyone else other than myself. But a non-approved headlight that shines into oncoming traffic, that could possibly cause an accident does affect someone else If you put a non-approved, DOT headlight in your bike, and it’s not approved for the road you could possibly create an accident Where as none of the performance upgrades done to my bike will affect anyone. I wasn’t trying to convey the legality of it, but more so in a sense of safety
Full disclosure, I have had the bd headlights on my 2017 RG for a year now. The safety factor for me being seen is very noticeable. It has become a rare occurrence that someone pulls out in front of me. I hope your CD’s do the same. Can’t wait to see what’s next for Mad Max! Thanks for hearing me out.
How are the shark demon lights compared to the double x headlight? Which do you like better, which lights up better. I like em both, but i prefer function. Whichever one lights the road better, would be the one i go with. One of my stock lights went out, so its time to upgrade.
It’s pretty sweet and looks awesome. I still kind of lean towards the lamps that are slanted and look like mean eyes. Nice job explaining the install and touching on adjustments etc. Black paint is notorious for swirl marks. It may be time to address this. Time for a paint correction. Just a suggestion. Your bike is way to sweet to let that roll like that. 👍👍👍
i agree with the lighting being a huge thing that helps with the safety aspect of being seen. which is why I have a glow set on my bike which during the say is white and during the dark hours its turned to orange so I still can be seen easily at night.
Thanks for making this video my Shark Demon got delivered yesterday and I cant wait to install it on my 2018 CVO, Hope I dont have too much trouble with my anp.
Hey John nice install. And not sure if you know but if you hook up the transformer module for those low profile turn signals they will be more yellow and the white light will go off when the turn signal is on. Keep the great footage coming
They look so good on there! I also noticed your front low pro turn signals stay white with the turn signal I think you are missing the wiring harness that plug in between the light and the oem blinker plugs. I had the same thing until I plugged in the two harness’s that came with the blinkers.
So when you originally installed the fang led lights and vent screens, you had to remove 1 stock plastic pieces per side. Are they reused with the demon or did you just go without?
I got my lights installed and on the way home from work I heard a weird noise. It looks the vents are flopping around. Is there a way to better secure them. Thanks. Wes.
This is a game changer. I live in comifornia where traffic rules n ploicy is ridiculously strict and suxs. My buddy got a citation the other day in HB Ca for having off road lights. Wish CD makes one for my 7 inch on softail. I do have H3 dyna plug.
Your 22 road glide looks fantastic. I just bought a new 24 whiskey fire road glide and love it, but your black and chrome beauty looks amazing how it's done. Black and chrome or take it home! 😎
I like it. But but not crazy about the opening on the outer side of each light. Seems a little unfinished, like something should fill in that space. Looks great on your bike though.
I'm thinking of getting this set up. The only thing that is holding me back. I have amps behind the headlight for the stereo. Do you think water can still get through the bracket or is it sealed pretty good?
Yeah it’s a direct lazy rip off, great that it is dot approved but doesn’t make up for being a lazy company. I’m actually getting rid of all my custom dynamics stuff cause of this move.
I believe that you may not be aware of the concept of competitive competition, which ultimately benefits us as users. Nevertheless, it is astonishing that BD did not endeavor to promote its products in the motorcycle field. But is this practice inappropriate? Suppose BD directly sold its products for motorcycle applications; would it still be considered inappropriate? If a single company dominates the market, they tend to overprice their products. However, if another company of comparable products enters the market, price points improve, and so does the quality of merchandise. Take Harley and Indian as a prime example. Without Indian making waves, Harley would not have made any progress and would still be using outdated engines and technology since no competition existed. BD is not and never will be categorized as such because its intended purpose is for off-road use.
I like your channel and i like custom Dynamics but I have to say they totally ripped off Baha designs light and acting as though they are doing a different light. I don't think that is good business. They did not have enough creativity to come out with a different design? Sorry but I am disappointed in custom Dynamics. I expect this from a Chinese company but American companies doing that to each other is not cool.
The funny thing is everything I’ve bought from CD has a made in China sticker. I’m sure these will be on Amazon in a few months for a few hundred bucks 😂
Basically was going to comment the same thing. The fact he doesn’t acknowledge it’s an obvious rip off of Baja designs is lame too. I get it you get this stuff for free but come on man. They also ripped off the bracket from a certain company that shall not be named. And compared to the real deal these are not bright at all
I've made a couple of comments above about this, but in short, BJ was never intended for motorcycle applications. The brackets have been mimicked by 5 different companies, but now CD does it, and it is wrong?
@@ro9949 I understand that they are discussing the lights, and I would like to clarify that CD is not attempting to claim BJ's lights as their own. The light design in question is one that I have noticed being used by many other companies and is not exclusive to CD.. Baja Designs never produced these lights for motorcycles, and still doesn't manufacture them for such purposes. Therefore, does it actually matter if CD's design bears similarities to Baja Designs? Other companies opted to transform them into motorcycle lights by assembling other parts together, but still using BD lights. In reality, CD lights are never going to be used for off-road vehicles since they were not built or commercialized for that specific use. BD will be just fine with their current application usage cases.
Those are dope, I went the budget route. KNS customs uses the Amazon special aux lights and mounts them onto a bracket. It’s cool though because they’ll put a bar and shield inlay into the spot light portion. Only problem is they’re TOO bright I get flashed by every oncoming vehicle. So I’m gonna try to tint them with yellow tint, try to cut them down a little bit. But I can see a mile ahead lol
Can you furnish me a link for that shied on madmax that you don't own any more. Also the links to the following, hand guards, and fog lights. Thank you in advance
Too bad about the design flaw - having to remove the fairing and cover plate to aim the lights. People will install them without aiming thinking they're 'good enough' then be too lazy to remove the fairing to do it properly. Improperly aimed super bright lights just adds to the friction between bikes and cages.
