As an owner for the "first version" of the Sigma 24-70 DG DN f2.8 I do not think this lens wows me to "upgrade". Like I never use the F stop dials and find this lens to be very very well. So the Mark II is not for me. I will stick with what I have.

Question for videographers, which one would you choose, Sony 24-105 f4 OSS vs new sigma 24-70 art mark 2 f2.8? btw I’m using a Sony zv-e1, thanks!! 🙌

Sigma 24-70, but you don't need the mark 2. AF is faster, but not that much faster, and certainly not worth $300 more. This is basically an infomercial to get you to use his affiliate links. In my case I mostly shoot cinematography and on a BMCC6k FF, so the speedier AF is moot and there's no other benefit.

Hi Stefano, I have the option to go for this or the Lumix Pro 24-70 a reduced price of 1200, so would be the same price as this lens in L-Mount. Which would you go for?

My issue with this lens was that when I hold it vertically pointing up or down the zoom would creep and it would ruin my shots, do you know if the zoom ring is stiffer now?

I am new to sony and ff picked up an A7iv last week coming over from fuji…… stuck now deciding between this or sonys 20-70 f4G or their 24-105…… i mostly shoot outdoors in the daytime around the lake or sometimes portraits and townscapes

20-70 is sharper and lighter weight. The 24-105 is good but it does fall off in sharpness the more you increase the focal length

W video my guy! Great lens, but I have the Mark i and don't see value in upgrading to the mark ii for the aperture ring and better auto focus lol

Thank you! The Mark I is still a phenomenal lens and honestly unless you rely heavily on autofocus, shoot fast moving scenes or you want something lighter in weight, you probably won't need to upgrade!

They're so dang fast at dropping great lenses! Last month was the Sigma 50mm 1.2 smallest and most compact 50 1.2 on the market. They're killing it

In my opinion, if one and for everything, then 35-150. But it's heavy. If it matters, the 24-70

The original is still a phenomenal lens no doibt but if you do heavily rely on autofocus, these linear focus motors are just so much faster! It might not be a bad idea!

Yes it will and I actually know a few people that have this setup with the original version! The a6400 is crop sensor however, so the focal range will be more like a 36-105mm!

i was really close to buy the 1st one but, many people complain for dust dots into the glass that was very easy to have. Like a walk in the park was enough.. hope now Sigma fix this..

That's awesome that you have a lens that works for you! For me personally, I'd much rather like that extra 4-5mm to be on the wide end where you notice it a lot more than on the tight end tho!
