That case looks amazing, I'd love to do a Threadripper 7xxx class cpu. Maybe a 4090. You know, if I did not want to eat or have a roof over my head. 😂 Very much looking forward to the build. Glad you had some good sponsors!

I had a SIngularity case, it was stunning but "aged" pretty quickly. Keeping those 2-sided acrylic distros clean and dust free was a nightmare, never set the fans to blow straight on one of those

Yes I can imagine. What type of coolant did you use? Our last Spectre build, the silver and blue one is still holding up well and has barely been turned on. It just sits there in the background :p

@@GGFEvents i had clear EK fluid, that wasn't the best idea to hide the dust and the "fill line" settling. Also by the constant cleaning I did create some micro scratches... that could be a video idea: how to care for your case

idk there are ssd/hdd heatsink with fans so that might help with the 15tb with thermals

Stu, Have any issues with the Bitspower dimm modules and the RDimms? The RDimms have a fairly large pmic so I wasn’t sure if that interfered with anything when assembling the memory modules

So far no issues. The modules seem to have a large channel routed out of each side for the power management area

@@GGFEvents⁠Love this build (and your work in general) - to piggyback on the question RE the Bitspower modules… I have the Kingston 256gb DDR5 kit for my W790 build, is it possible to use these modules with the standard Alphacool or EK ram waterblocks? It looks like the holes on the Bitspower modules are too far apart for the standard waterblocks and thus I would have to find another way to attach (or wait for a true DDR5 rdimm kit).

Love it but hate the keyboard design, ha. I agree with you and wish they made a normal version with this amount of memory and the 4070 GPU.

@@GGFEvents Ha thanks for the reply. The keyboard I see as being a necessary sacrifice for the form factor. I'll use it for short bursts of work but yeah my travel setup had to have a wireless (with wired option) for a proper setup. I was kind of hoping for a larger version with more RAM+GPU options, especially more like the original Mothership, but we'll see!

This is really cool for the experience of building it and using it right after building, and it looks sexy. But if I so much as try to imagine servicing or maintaining this I get a splitting headache. Really, really not worth the hassle for any use case, doubly inappropriate for enterprise or workstation use.

Ahh probably most inappropriate case for workstation use on the market. ;) I'll never understand why so many Enterprise 15mm NVMes ship as just aluminium brick. Micron (say 7450 family but it can be any other from them) in 15mm variety always come with nice, finned radiator housing. It's so amazing at keeping the temp down even without ridiculous airflow found in servers. M.2 cannot compete. Even left outside the case drives stay pretty cool. It'll be a challenge for sure in such unsuitable for this task case. Its nice to see someone uses Enterprise grade NVMe 2.5" drives in impractical overbuilt PCs. They are miles more robust than consumer crap and if used properly basically indestructible in longevity. Even if I have still IIRC 8 M.2 in my main rendering rig I slowly add more and more 2.5" because they are much easier to keep cool and no need to use pointless on-board M.2 slots which are excellent heat traps when you dump 800W or more of heat at peak rendering for 24 or 48h.
