Taspens. When the augment was FIRST added like on the april fools event, apparently 2 people got the augment and tanki screwed up and "accidentally" made it 3000% extra damage so people were doing 9k per hit. I only just heard about this but tanki patched it exactly 27 minutes later.
People talking about game mechanics, but tbf, this is expected to see, since we have healer Shaft and Vulcan-ish Smoky. Not saying that it's a bad thing, since from the lore point of view, whatever these fellas found on Moon to use for new Viking XT skin, it sure helps them a lot with going technological revolution after technological revolution. And to me, this just feels right. I like it when the devs of a seemingly simple game adds some kind of lore behind all this, and seeing how augments progress without looking sudden (like how they did with Hyperspace rounds for Railgun which was "ahead" of its time in terms of technological advancement) reminds me of how Mojang developers add up some lore bits to Minecraft while still sticking up to the same game mechanic they have from the day Notch created the game itself. I'm a huge sucker for lore stuff, and seeing that Tanki Online actually got one hidden in skins and some augments as well as paints (we all remember about Inferno being a contraband paint, right?) make my heart skip a beat. God, do I love lore and stories
"No one uses Twins protection [...]". Can we then all agree that the root of one of the biggest problems in the game is the % of protection in modules and it should thus be lowered? In other words, would broken augments like this one, Assault Magazine for Hammer, Helios back in the day (faster reload), and even high crit chance in many turrets, exist at all if one could still get kills with the turrets in their base form or with only DPS-altering augments? The answer is a big fat NO, and this is just a very stupid attempt to solve the ubiquitous problem of "I can't kill sh*t whit this turret unless I use Crisis/broken augment so I won't use it" with an endless loop. It goes like this: 1.Everyone running 50% prot of X turret; 2. you get barely any kills with X turret and therefore don't use it. Devs notice the underusage of X turret and decide to release augments for it to bypass that to: -Try to give the turret some love and presence in the meta, and -Monetize whatever they come up with and have another reason to make you pay, making it broken along the way with little to no downside as a result (Assault Magazine, Pulsar augments for fast reloading or never-ending firing turrets like Twins, Tesla or Vulcan, Faust for Striker, etc.); 3. you get and equip yourself with them, and now, despite people STILL running protection against your turret, you now don't just get some kills, but probably dozens more than acceptable for the balance of the game with a mix of crits and super fast reload that can barely be prevented; 4. devs release augments to now bypass that instead (back in the day with Armadillo, more recently in the form of Lifeguard, Blaster and Miner hull augments (if you mine the whole place, who's gonna shoot you if they can't even reach You? Hence the boost to the camping playstyle :)); 5. and now you can guess the next thing they will do. Would it really make the game more imbalanced than it is already to stop all this nonsense and JUST LOWER THE % OF PROTECTION IN MODULES? And, as a bonus, am I crazy to suggest MAKING CRITICAL HITS AN AUGMENT instead of inherently present in all turrets? I firmly believe that THIS IS a real alternative, just like many other people's suggestions over the years, and not the endless loop these guys are trying to make us believe like it's working towards that goal.
Wish near the end you would have faught that other twins with 50% twins protection to see how this new augment performs. I seen only once this new augment, killed me fast without twin protection. If they nerf it maybe reduce the damage a little and increase firing rate; like someone k-kof said it seems odd for twins use to shooting fast with twins.
Twins has always been my favourite turret no matter how garbage it is. I feel like this augment just takes away the main concept of it and sure its broken but like why try to get it when it just turns the turret to a striker/thunder. Also knowing tanki its going to get nerfed after 3 weeks. Very boring augment imo that ruins the fun of the turret
I opened yesterday 15 ultra containers,and I I'm geting this augment. I'm on vacation, and play on android phone (they suck), so I baerly wait to go at home and try this on my PC lol
What? Where it's strong? DPS same as stock, but you also can't crtit as often as stock. This augment worse then most of cristal augments. I would also understand if the damage and recharge were +500%, so that you could shoot and hide behind the wall to recharge. but in fact, there are no other benefits besides shot speed D tier (Sori for my english, not my first language)
with any other twins augment you are expected to miss shots. this augment removes this downside, yes maximum DPS is the same as stock but average DPS is greatly boosted (much closer to max). twins' maximum DPS is quite high (think about a twins landing every single shot against you).
@@Taspensit's still weak, yes, the distance is getting longer, but not much because damage reduction begins quickly. getting shots at the enemy at an effective distance is not so difficult, although it really makes sense against light hulls. But I would still prefer to take a magnetron, a heavy plasmagun or stabilized plasma, in my opinion they give more opportunities.
