Volvo knows exactly what they're doing with this song choice. Nightcall, and those taillights and the sleek design. All the paint colors for this car. It's pure future material but enough to be a bit of the past. Outrun and cyberpunk community can rejoice. Also, Volvo has good cars regardless so I'm really impressed with this brand decision.
What is the song? Nightcall? I was happy to see your comment cause I looked up the ad because I am looking for the song! Also, there last commercial that was about the built in Google screen featured a song that started out just like "Thriller". OK, I looked up Nightcall and thanks. I feel like I remember the song, but can't place it really.
My son sent this to me because it's one of my favorite songs by Kavinsky and one of my favorite songs of all time and it really does well for something to play while driving with really cool lights and at night time... some very fine synthwave/retrowave. Kudos to whoever came up with using the song and doing that lighting that way for this commercial
This new team Volvo hired for It’s graphic and motion picture work Is beyond belief, your past 3 Commercials have been Insane, My dad Is even thinking of buying the new Volvo XC60
if you watch a commercial and it makes you buy the product in it especially a 20,000 dollar car you shouldn't be allowed to vote or participate in society beyond being a trash collector
Volvo I gotta say is 10/10. They literally went to electric and I love it. I know how badly climate change has affected us and I understand it is the ultimate safety test. This would make me wonder what would happen if every single car was changed to electric. You already know what you're doing and I am always impressed with your work. Keep up the amazing work!!!
This makes me want to buy a car 🤣🤣🤣 They have the best commercials ever! Amazing footage and music! They know what they are doing! 😍 I had to click the ad hahahahaha
@@torstenpheifer the thing is that the Polestar 1 and the Polestar 2 could have easily been Volvos since they look like Volvos inside and outside. I don't see why Polestar exists.
@@N1ckZ polstar should be like an AMG, BMW M, etc.. polstar could easily integrate the polstar 2 into the Volvo range. The Polstar 1 should have been the new C70, and lower the price. It’s basically an s60 anyway. No one is buying that $140,000 car, not even one owner review on RU-vid. Volvo needs sort out the whole polestar mess!
I think Polestar is basically an innovation lab. Volvo is trying to capture some of the tolerance for problems that Tesla enjoys. EVs and hybrids have always hurt perceptions of reliability for other carmakers b/c they always came with non-standard features. W/ Polestar, Volvo can experiment w/o the side-effects of innovation - poor reliability, QA issues - affecting their brand image like it did to Tesla and Toyota.
So nice to finally see the new model. Im absolutely in love with it. I'm hoping there will be more affordable all electric Volvos in the future. I would love to see more EVs in peoples hands, especially Volvo EVs. I'll have to work much harder to get one of these.
Now in no way, shape, or form am I a VOLVO fan BUT this video alone with Nightcall as their song choice may just make me think twice. Well done Volvo, well done.
It has to be this long - and keeping the ground clearance makes it cheaper. The platform this car is on is the same one as the XC40 Recharge and the Polestar 2 - both cars with big wheels and slightly lifted suspension.
@@mach1nefan actually this platform can also produce standard hatchbacks or sedans, like Lynk & Co 02, 03, or Geely Preface. This C40 does look a little...quirky
Dang not exactly my style of car but this commercial is incredible! Real nice vibe, gets you into the thought of seeing yourself driving this vehicle. Looks like I'm interested in Volvo and respect for making me actually want to watch an ad!!!!
Was washing the dishes while my mom watching tv, suddenly this commercial came on and had to run back to living room to witness greatness. The car is literally me 🫡
@@callumlaird5158 That is incorrect! Pixel headlights is matrix technology and the reason they call it pixel is because it's higher resolution than older matrix headlamps but it's still an array of LEDs on a PCB going through the same lens(es). Volvo has not had matrix headlamps before and have used adaptive headlights before this. (if you don't consider the Polestar 2 which uses the headlight module)
@@callumlaird5158 That'll be Adaptive/Active High Beam which means it'll turn on and off for other cars. I don't remember exactly how many they said it was but I think it is three highbeam reflectors per headlamp. These can then turn themselves off and or rotate mechanically. The Matrix and Pixel are all just one unit where LEDs are allocated and controlled in an array. So the Active/Adaptive headlamps should have 3 reflectors for the foreground and 3 for the highbeam which equeals 6 LEDs per headlamp. The earlier matrix headlamps from example Audi use around 20 LEDs per headlamp and this Pixel headlamp uses 84 per headlamp according to Polestar.
@@KaneTheMessiah Right I see, but it can shade out multiple cars with pretty good accuracy and it only dips a tiny part of the beam. I honestly thought that was matrix headlights
That would make zero sense to make something like that from a business perspective for Volvo. Probably why they rebranded polestar with a high performance coup, I think you might prefer that!
@@kolbygabbert6108 I get that it would make zero sense to make a high performance sporty coupe. But damn i expected volvo to finally create a smaller car, and that would certainly make sense from a business perspective. What small car can volvo offer? None, volvo got no small cars. People owning the V40 are going to leave for other brands. And i who have personally owned a C30 R-design is greatly disappointed.
@@venatusgullebulle3389 I’m interested in knowing what you’d like to see exactly from Volvo, would a compact city car be closer to what you’re thinking or something a bit bigger? Currently Volvo also has the polarstar 2 which is almost the size of a honda civic so on the smaller end of sedans. I also am not sure where you’re from because a small car might work better if your in a big city but i think it was wise of volvo to make this car the size that it is because it’s going to be sold in America where people much prefer larger vehicles and suvs
@@bigbadbear2962 ya you’re totally right, but my point is is that volvo probably wanted to solidify polestar as a premium electric brand so that they can develop the manufacturing and engineering of some of the electrical components so that they could use that technology in volvo branded vehicles. Either way I think that having these two brands work simultaneously together is very beneficial because they can market their cars for different buyers or demographics
