Great walk through and I love the top down view you had the one camera at. The amount of control you have over split size and minimal waste with this machine is just awesome.
That is a very nice splitter! I haven't seen one in person but I really like the thought that Chris put into that design. I'm sure you will get many years of use out of that. - Tim
Thanks for the video! I want one of these so bad but not certain I could build a business around it…still, I keep watching the videos and tell myself it would be cheaper than buying a sailboat and I would probably use it more than a boat!
I wish the knife didn’t flare out wide. If it stayed the thickness of the first 2-3 inches it looks like it would be easier to keep the wood together to rotate.
I’m in the market, and was sold on the Eastonmade Axis until I watched your video. Your splitter is a finished product with all of the bugs worked out. The previous test videos and videos from the Paul Bunyan showed a splitter with a slower cycle time. My mind has been persuaded to this Wolf Ridge. Swiveling hydraulic lift conveyor, plus all controls on the work side is a big plus. I will definitely be getting my spot in line.
Hey I’m going to post another video of it today if your interested. I absolutely love it so far. The conveyer model is super nice. He’s putting a bigger motor on it so it so should be the same speed as this one.
It seems regardless of any of the commercial splitters out there two people are a must to keep up with it. Did you quarter those rounds with a saw or split them?
One thing to make using any vertical splitter easier and safer is to ensure all the firewood rounds are cut square on both ends. This will prevent the round from kicking out on you.
Great to see the 17VS in action. Saw it at the Paul Bunyan show with Chris on the controls, looks like you have it nearly figured out, just takes time and practice to get more comfortable with it and learn its quirks. Excited to see more runtime. I also have a 35 SHO BW and starting to look for an option to break down splits into even more custom sizes. Have a great day Around the Yard!
Congrats on the new splitter, seems like a nice machine. The vertical splitters are awesome for turning not so desirable round into bundle grade firewood.
I think my little splitter needs to make $12K worth of firewood...then I'll be buying one! Glad to see someone finally made a commercial splitter that I actually want!
Congratulations on your new splitter. I started buying vertical splitters a few years back and really changed things for my operation. That looks like really really nice machine. Looking forward to seeing more videos on it Thanks for the video
I haven’t had the vertical splitter long enough to see what it can do. But I would say the HO or the SHO. I had the pro and loved it but the 2 jacks and folding hitch on my sho makes things faster and Easier to move around.
@@lillysfarmfirewood thought so by the looks of them, I have the same thing, but I hung it off a mini excavator…it’s great, I sell loads of just the splits to boiler guys and DIYers.
@@lillysfarmfirewood yes it’s the way to go, I seen those bobcat splitters 7 or 8 years ago and thought it would be better on a mini, just sit and spin, your not in the skid slapping your head back and forth making yourself throw up!…plus you can chuck the chunks up into a 10’ tall pile then set up your new splitter and not have to move it…check them out, plenty of guy’s have videos on them.
