Edelman! I remember watching this game. The Pats were steam rolling every team they played, especially the second half of the season. They creamed the Jets 45-3 earlier that season and beat about 7 other playoff teams that year too. Iv'e always wondered why they looked like a COMPLETLEY different team this game. What did the Jets do defensively to throw their offense off so much? Get into the X's and O's!
Go Jets! I remember watching this game at a dominoes on Camp Pendleton when I was in the Marines. Never expected them to win but sure glad we did! That Jets team had alot of toughness and grit 💪
Love rich eisen and Julian love your show I saw the video with you and armendola and YO SOY FIESTA all three of you were singing in a pool , awesome...
I think the 2021 National Championship was one of the best games ever. Georgia finally get a Natty for the first time in 4 decades despite being so close so many times. It was also special because they were able to beat the team (Bama) that held them back so often. Plus the game itself was just really fun to watch
Do you guys get hit with copyright if you show any clips of the games? Love the Pod. Keep doing YOU.. you guys are killing it!! Was just wondering about that! 👊✌️
McAfee definitely had issues w/ it until he joined ESPN. The Kelce brothers were granted 30-seconds per episode of New Heights this year by NFL Films. Guessing if Jules' pod pulls impressive #s, they might give him the same permissions.
As a lifetime Jets fan (at 65), it's true, it's not all hate (but there a modicum). But for me, I believe Mr Kraft to be one of the best owners, if not The best in the NFL. The organization he runs is top notch. Where ours is run by a lying buffoon. (unfortunate to say something like that, but the history since his ownership proves this out - like where is our OWN stadium in NY?). Mr Kraft's charitable work is First Class. Through Martial arts, I am FB friends with HOF'r Sensei Andre Tippett. When I was in the army in Germany, early 80s, I read the Karate Illustrated article about him. His style is the same as the one I studied (Uechi ryu). And we tease each other in posts on football from time to time, with him getting the better of me most of the time. As for NE (Boston) vs NY, in my lifetime there has always been a rivalry. Yankees - Red Sox, Knicks - Celtics, Rangers - Bruins, and of course Patriots - Jets.
This was near the end of the decade long drought without winning a Super Bowl. I am curious about the few tweaks/adjustments that were made that propelled them from very good to great. I would say that Julian Edelman is actually noticeably bigger than Wes Welker, Danny Woodhead, or Deion Branch. Amendola also has a bigger frame than those guys. Besides Brandin Cooks, you didn’t really see any guys that were nearly as small as WW, DW, & DB. Those guys were great players. Explosive, made a lot of plays. But back in that era, being that small, there were just gonna be some shots they couldn’t get up from. Julian Edelman took that monstrous hit from Kam Chancellor, quickly sprung to his feet, and kept running. KC was the one hurting after that play. You can see KC adjusting his helmet because his head was ringing like a bell. Welker ain’t getting up from that hit or holding on to the ball. Then guys like James White and Rex Burkhead did similar things to Woodhead but they had a lot more size. They had quickness but they could also break tackles. Woodhead didn’t have the size to break many tackles. Y’all also went back to having some sizable backs to wear down defenses. Legarrette Blount seems like he was used similarly to Corey Dillon. Did the 2010 team have a guy like Devlin? Going into Super Bowl vs Seahawks, I liked Patriots chances. I wouldn’t have said that about the 2010 or 2011 team.
Edelnut...... Rich Eisen always had your back when u played. He always gave u the respect you earned and deserved. Glad to see him on Games with Names.....I love that Edelnut is still not working a real job. #Foreveryoung, #HOF
All i can remember about long haired Brady is him crying actual tears while flipping his hair in an interview about THE NY GIANTS RUINING THE PATRIOTS PERFECT SEASON! BEST GAME EVER, FOR ONE DAY WE WERE ALL GIANTS!!!
I know, Belichick says it was the Jets ownership but let’s be real. He didn’t wanna deal with ourselves as his GM and boss anymore. But in an effort to maintain a level of respect, he blamed it on Jets ownership which I’m sure it was also a little bit of factor. But you can tell if you watch the documentary on the two bills, they did not even want to go into the Jets lock room because there is still some lingering resentment
CHANGE THE COUCH. I agree with Rich - sitting on the couch like that would be very uncomfortable- especially for an older dude - and makes them look very awkward. It only works if you are the right size and sit exactly like Julian
I use to fly DC-10 & MD-11 jumbo jets in the cargo configuration all over the world...and literally around the world. I was in and out of Japan alot...good people. Remember that America dropped two Atomic bombs in Japan to get them to surrender during WWIi.
Sorry Rich could not, would not marry a Patriots fan. Life long Giants fan so at least i will always have & ALWAYS KNOW THE GIANTS HAVE THE PATRIOTS NUMBER. We ALL KNOW the GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME was the 2007 Super Bowl, 18-1 GIANT LOSS! ONE DAY WE WERE ALL GIANTS!!!
Geez, must Rich dominate every conversation? Jules is a great interviewer....lol...he had no chance here. Rich, learn some listening skills, please, before you die. Try tucking your Enourmous ego away into your too short dad jeans. You make me nervous.
This will forever be a classic, for the Welker comical, rapid fire foot references press interview and subsequent benching for the Pats first possession of that game.
I miss rich on NFL network. “Ray Rice Running From Rutgers” truly a legend in his own respect. Idk if it’s just me, but I don’t see too much of RE on social media. He had so much great quotes/commentary. 2008-2012 were the GOAT years of NFL network.
