Just in the last week, I challenged two ASE sellers on eBay that they shouldn’t be selling fake coins (they were both offering five 2022 ASEs at $0.23 to $0.40 over spot). After my challenge, both listings were removed.
People have destroyed their consciences. It used to be that most people took pride in working hard and making an honest living. Laziness in our culture, along with the destruction of the human conscience, has given way to scamming.

But that's how I found Sals channel, I typed in how to spot a fake silver coin, and one of Sals videos told me what I needed to know! I've been rolling with the family ever since.! Thanks for the video, Sal! Yes, it’s very important to do your due diligence and have healthy skepticism whenever something appears too good to be true. Magnets, pinger, and Sigmametalytics are all good to have in the arsenal as well.
At my LCS this guy brought in 4 fake Morgan silver dollars and a fake silver eagle and the owner looked at them and weighted them and told the guy that they were fake he said want to buy them anyway thinking that the owner would turn and try to sell them he told the man illegal to own and sell so he guy just left
Slabbed and encapsulated are never a good thing unless you trust your coin guy or girl. Test your silver with a magnet, ping, weight and smell. Yeah. Smell your metal. A lost instinct skill in humans. You know when you are not sure of something and you get a feeling in your nose? Maybe taste it as well but dont get carried away with that test. since it doesn’t say “copy,” send the site to the secret service. and yes, even if they shut it down, like they are supposed to, and another pops up over night, at least they got these scammers
Im a Prepper and many are BUYING fake silver for a SHTF senario. Even Chrisocal said he would do that!! In a VIDEO!! i GAVE HIM SHIT FOR SAYING THAT!!!.....LIKE #53
I just always wonder how many suckers buy those things...In my experience; stackers and collectors usually are astute to how certain coins should present. Oh well; the fake market is almost as big as the real market...Getting a deal on silver or gold is VERY rare on line..
It’s either a novices mistake or failing old eyes or age prom a veteran. I’ve been handed off a few myself most of which were easily recognized as fakes. Some I swore were fake tested out as real. 🎉

An easier way to tell if a coin is silver or not is to put the coin under a clean piece of white paper and shine a bright light on the paper and a silver coin will show up silver like. Non silver coins will not.
Makes it hard when it’s in an assay unless you have an analytics tester. Have some buffalos I swore were fake once I opened the tube as the quality was total crap. It’s face was like smudged not struck hard or something. The LCS said they are real tho 🤷♂️ was on the border of the range on the machine tho. Anyone else have any experience with such?

I just don't see how people still fall for some of these scam. If someone is selling the AES online under spot don't buy it. Sure you may miss out on a coin or two here or there but in the long run you will be better off .
Just think of how great it will be when we have to start bartering and or working for silver. You’ll be lucky to see real silver as payment. Everything is/will be a scam. Can you pocket ping a 10 ounce bar? Or do you Invest a grand in a sigma? Hell, Ive bought silver from reputable companies that look fake to me lol.
Tips to catch scammers: 1) China, 2) Sri Lanka, 3) Generic photo, 4) no toning, 5) price is under spot or close to it, 6) less than 2000 reviews, 7) any reviews that say it’s fake, 8) any seller that doesn’t specialize in bullion, 9) seller will not test and guarantee metal before shipping, and 10) China.
I won an auction on Ebay..from a highly rated seller..for a 1oz gold piece barely above spot....so...they sent me a crappy looking Morgan dollar. ( knowing i would return it..) Im having to handle legally now. Ebay is NOT what it used to be. Sons of Motherless damn Goats
You're more likely to encounter that with Pre-33 U.S. gold. Over a decade ago, PCGS discovered numerous fake scarcer date $5 gold indians. All were made from Pre-33 gold though. Someone had melted culls and had the gold used for the fake dies. That's the level that counterfeiting is at now. I know of a few examples of fake scarcer date Morgans that were made from 90% silver too. Buyer beware and educate thyself. 👍
If theyre on ebay selling for 10$ less that anyone else is one clue i wouldnt buy 2022 0r 2023 off ebay unless its a reputable seller with a long history of feedback.
