Man. I miss the Battlelog. Where I can see all of my stats and then on top of that I can create my platoon, clan tag, and see all and collect all the dog tags. I miss the dog tags so much. The missions to unlock them. They looked badass. I miss those features so much

BF3 CQ DLC had fantastic destruction imo, most of it was purely visual, felt like you took the whole building apart but it didn't change the map flow too much.

Destruction levels should be like bf3 and add the ability to build fortifications again like bf5 if a flag is completely flattened just to add some cover and maybe make it only support or engineer can build, gives thoses classes more stuff to do.

I'm okay with the BFV slide mechanic, but I will not stand for this ice skating chain jumping movement like in 2042. It's stupid. I don't want crackhead movement mechanics from COD. I remember DICE putting a post out about how fast sprint speeds are across the Battlefield games, when talking about 2042, and they're all extremely close in terms of meters per second. I want the movement to feel weighty at the very least, not floaty like 2042. This should primarily be handled with good animation work and camera movement. I'd be happy with BFV's movement system, but I would like it closer to Battlefield 3's or Battlefield 4's.

@@EndersFPS I think we might have different definitions on what is considered "crackhead" movement. I'm not advocating for Hell Let Loose movement in Battlefield, but I do think it should be more grounded than something like current COD movement. I would describe games like MW3 and Apex as having "crackhead movement". I don't think jump peaking from BF3/BF4 is crackhead movement. I'm curious what else from those games would be considered that way in your opinion. Most tips and tricks videos from the BF3 era focused on teaching quick peaks, corner pieing, and overall game sense. While I do agree Battlefield is an arcade game, I think it's proper for Battlefield when it feels grounded and authentic. I think BFV got it mostly right, although the slide looked weird from a 2nd person perspective at times. I don't remember the floor in BF3/BF4 serving as an ice rink for sliding chain jumps. I could be wrong, but I remember each successive jump would lose height and momentum, to prevent spamming the jump button too quickly. The animations were also sophisticated enough to be readeable by your opponents. 2011 DICE were light-years ahead of their time. Their animation work and design made that game what it was. 2042 introduced slide jumps, bunny hopping without successive chain jumps losing height and momentum, crouch spam, etc.; all are examples of things that you can also do in Apex, but I don't think they belong in Battlefield. I think most of the mechanics were introduced because 2042's movement system is fundamentally unfinished and DICE didn't have enough time to or talent to fix them because they focused on reworking launch maps and pushing out seasons, it was just a low priority. You may argue back that's it's a "skill issue" but I don't think that argument works. It is not difficult to play well in Battlefield. I'm talking overall gameplay design, not whether or not I'm capable of utilizing "advanced" movement mechanics and I'm just mad because I can't do them. They aren't hard to do. I just think they look stupid and makes the Battlefield experience worse.

@@peeepeeepooopooo thank you. I looked it up again. According to a Battlefield Bulletin tweet from back in 2021, the 2042 normal sprint speed is at 6.5m/s and tactical sprint is 7.25m/s. BFV: 6.04m/s BF3/BF4: 6.5m/s (with sprint perk = 7.15m/s) BFH: 6.75m/s

Tanks turrets need to be tied to sensitivity again. I’m totally ok with movement but the clunky turrets don’t allow me to track movement fiends properly. Its fine to have fluid movement but you also need to give players the ability to counter it

I'm a fan of yours so don't take this the wrong way like I'm a hater or something, but you're 100% wrong on one point. "Movement mechanics" as we call them now have been something the BF community has always been against going back as far as I can remember to BF2 with dolphin diving and bunny hopping being something to do in that game (yes, BF was doing it before CoD and I feel old remembering that was 2005). Dolphin diving is when you dive mid air kind of like a more spastic version of drop shotting and bunny hopping is when you jump up and down while shooting/going around corners to be harder to hit. Both were tactics in that game that got excluded going forward in the series and were absent from the peak games of the series (BFBC2, BF3, BF4) that everyone loves and a lot of us still play. I'm not really sure you understand the series or the community if you're going to just insult us like that because you don't agree with us despite many of us being here way longer than you have. CoD style movement mechanics aren't wanted for the same reason the community didn't want operators or the class system being removed, it clashes against the identity of the series. BF isn't about being the star of the show like the games doing those features. BF is about falling in line, playing your class effectively, working as a team, playing the f-ing objective, and getting the W. Again no hate, just being real with you.

@@jackrabbit8255 There is other factors that can give you a skill in battlefield take for example BF3 or BF1 the movement is alot of slow paced and you need to actually work as team and push with strategy and take cover,that's a skill too.Spamming all the buttons like you are an apex legends character doesn't mean you have skill

dont care about sliding, but you should NOT be able to hit something if you jump or run while shooting. Maybe you can get to some cover if the people have MASSIVE spread while bunnyhopping. I really hate the run-and-gun trend in nowadays first person shooters.

I really miss some minor realistic elements. Like the heavy feel of Bad Company 2 or Killzone 3. Or when you fall too hard into the ground with an open parachute like in BF3. Back then, BF players praised BF for being a bit harder to play it like you were Rambo (unlike in COD).

I don't think the next battlefield going to be good. It's going to be a miracle if it does. EA can say whatever they want when the Full game comes out and then the next 24 hours is where everybody's gonna decide on if the game's going to be good or not. Just hope the next battlefield game will be playable at Launch, great FPS on Maps, lag free Custom Choose server list like in battlefield 4, Gun balance and no OP guns at start, Have better AI combat, Have more Camos for Characters and Guns. Be cool to bring back all the battlefield 2, 3 and 4 maps back. Would be cool to bring back my fav Titan Mode like in battlefield 2142 back.

I think the movement would be balanced out with a "boxed free aim"(RS2) mechanic mainly becaise people that dolphin dive would have to consider slight center screen decoupling and the people that hate sliding would have to blame their aiming when someone slides 20 meters in front of them rather than the other player

I'm fine with sliding, but not to bfv point, I think it's too fast/spammable in that game; maybe a cooldown or straight up just making the slide distance shorter, something like that (like bf1). I do want to say that bf1's sliding is not perfect but I think it is about what bf should aim for (just in sliding). Also I get that bf has never been a milsim/realistic shooter but, I do miss some of those elements from the older games, like the slower movement in 3.

I feel like standard buildings of certain materials should be able to be completely leveled whereas flag buildings or stronger material buildings (e.g. metal or solid concrete) should be able to take some damage to walls but not completely leveled

Another big thing I feel that could sort of change battlefield is how they do the multiplayer factions. I’m afraid that they are going to use for nato the 2042 vehicles vs PMC/ USMC Bf4 vehicles just because 1. Tanks in the concept art were the m1a5 Abrams and I hope not because this will be very gay in my opinion. My hope is that NATO will have all western vehicles that they want to bring to the game like M1a2, Bradley , Leopard , Gepard , Stryker, Lav, MRap… VS hoping that this PMC gorup is a mixed of Russian/Chinese group with Russian and Chinese vehicles like BMD-4,T-90A,ZT-99A,BMP-3/2… because Monden day battlefield have always been against Russian or China which are the biggest competitors as the enemy in this world and without them I feel like it won’t get to popular. If the PMC force is like a very BIG Wagner Group then I think that would be amazing. T-90A and you can upgrade it to the T-90M and have the upgrade thing like BFV had that you can choose what you want to your tank, you could choose the T-90M,T-90a with drone kit, then the turtle tank. And then BMD-2/4 which is the VDV IFV for Russian airborne should be added since we have seen BMPs and BTRs all the time in Battlefield and would give us the new feeling and BMD-2 you can upgrade it to the BMD-2M or BMD-2 drone kit and same if they use BMD-4. BMD-2 you can make into the BTR-ZD which is AA would be sick. or if they split NATO into a few countries for multiplayer like BFV had that would be amazing like US, UK, Germany, France , South Korea, Poland vs PMC/wagner , Russia , China , Belarus , Iran, North Korea . Would be the biggest game for factions but the best and then get like 5-7 maps for each country for there’s unique fighting and stuff. Idk

It already plays like cod with vehicles and cod plays like quake minus bunny hopping and verticality. Everything is sped up and everyone sprints endlessely with little regard to cover. Go slide in your yard and you'd make it a foot at the most and thats on grass, pavement will get you whiplash. lol. I'm just giving my opinion though. I don't care what they do with the game anymore, i just watch now. Battlefield hasn't been the same for me in a long time. Come to think of it Battlefield is becoming Unreal Tournament except I'm sad when I play it. lol

@@Gemisaur No. The 313 turn speed mechanic was garbage and turned every dogfight either into a binary “yes/no” based on whether or not the pilot happened to know that the mechanic existed, or an endless series of loops. The only place where that mechanic was actually enjoyable were private dogfighting servers, where you could loop to your heart’s content until someone accidentally deviated 1kph from 313. BF5 had worse aircraft progression, aircraft attrition mechanics and generally worse vehicle balance, but it actually had decent flight mechanics, actual physics and rewarded many different types of flight maneuvering and techniques that weren’t just “turn faster than the other guy.”

@@rotank638As is that is my opinion and you are entitled to yours, I am coming from the standpoint of someone who has hundreds and hundreds of hours in both jets and helis in bf4 and some in bf3. When dog fighting in a jet 313 is yes important but does not turn the tide of the dog fight unless you go over that speed. There is overall awareness, rutter direction and over basic dog fighting knowledge. In my statement about how 2042 is dog shit its because the feeling of flying feels horrible. Jets feel like shit when compared to bf4, regaurdless of what speed you are going in bf4 the jets just feel good and smooth. As far as helis go, in 2042 if you point your chopper down and throttle up you just go foward, its almost like there is no gravity to the choppers. Aiming while dog fighting with the choppers (the attack chopper) feels like absolute garbage and the amount you have to compensate when aiming pods is out of this world. In bf4, if you were throttling up then pitched towards the groud there was actual momentum and gravity in play, you would go towards the ground. It felt nice it was smooth and it made sense. The flying mechanics in 2042 just dont make sense. That is what im talking about not about the way you win or lose a dog fight. So in my opinionfor you to justify that bf4 jets were dog shit soley off of a variable like speed control is simply a skill issue and is very small minded of you and goes to show that people like you shouldnt be the ones giving developers feed back.

I remember back in Bad Company 2, even though the destruction wasn't the most advanced, Arica Harbor and Oasis provided the best cat-and-mouse experience by allowing players to destroy walls in houses that were closely positioned (the destruction speed made sense). It felt like a fast-paced puzzle game. On Oasis, vehicles that spawned on either side of the map at the start of the round reached the first flag just as the enemy was capturing it, which immediately set the stage for intense house-to-house combat. It seemed like every element was thoughtfully designed, rather than relying on fancy words and marketing. Advanced customization in CoD games is another topic. Each piece of equipment has its own weight, and when you create an Engineer or Recon soldier, they genuinely feel light and agile (or heavy). I hope we get that in the next BF.

Melee wise, that’s a huge no. BF4’s melee system is a huge pain in the butt that takes away the skill and only replaces it with a long animation which you cannot cancel unless you get killed.

My problem with movement isn’t so much the movement, as it is that even when you’re running full speed, sliding, jumping or in a free fall, you’re still shooting a laser beam. I think you should not be able to shoot at all while jumping or free falling (not parachuting), and your accuracy should be dramatically reduced while sliding or moving full speed. And yeah, that may have the effect of slowing the game down (even though I would not call BF3-4 “slow”), but Battlefield needs to disincentivize “lone wolf” playstyles. I know this runs counter to how players like Enders play FPS games, as a deathmatch running around solo pwning nubs. But it’s counter to the core of what BF is as a franchise, strategy, team play, communication, combined arms, positioning and coordination. Yes BF is more arcady than a mil-sim, no BF should not control like a mil-sim, but it’s still a class-based, squad-based, strategic combined arms shooter.

Glad to see you mention this! To Enders, slower movement automatically means milsim, which is a ridiculous hand-wave dismissal. But if you go back to BFBC2, which so many people remember fondly, you will immediately notice how much slower the movement is compared to newer BF games. And like you mention, slowing things down would help bring teamplay back to the game.

BFBC2 movement is slow not because it was intended that way, but because the game was just archaic in that aspect that even some comp players from bf2 told to DICE about that. As results, players recieve the better and faster movement in BF3 MOSTLY because product had to meet the expectations of modern player in 2011

The basics like strafing, diagonal sprint and existent slide already make BF1 movement quite different when BFBC2 movement lacks all of this. @@albertosgr9BF1 was bad game cuz 1. Infy mechanics had no depth, 2. Ticket system was ass with making fake „close” rounds as you gained tickets for holding just one flag and not the majority. It also made comeback impossible, 3. Vehicle mechanics and the spawn system were numbed down so much that skill ceiling went basically to the floor lvl. BF1 is a beginning of the fall of the franchise in terms of gameplay standpoint.

My first game I EVER bought with my own money was battlefield bad company.. when I play COD my crouch button is R3…when I play apex my crouch is R3. I am a true battlefield fan and based on what this guy said…he wants a COD game. Not one mention of vehicles..not one mention of air support. Not one mention of commander mode and SLIDING?!?! I don’t think any battlefield fan wants sliding…like the person who made this video, you can go to COD if you want to play a movement shooter

When it comes to sliding, the only real issue is that in 2042 it inherently just makes you faster if you use it, there is zero reason to not use it and no downsides which means it becomes a mechanic you have to use, it becomes as fundamental as WASD, it shouldn't make you faster than just sprinting, it becomes a movement shooter then

I do want AI for when they eventually take down the servers so you can always play no matter what. DICE showed off their AI with Elon Musk’s programming in BF1 so they need to make competent AI that doesn’t cheat or is brain dead.

Do not agree with sliding. If it is integrated it should cause a drastic movement penalty and should not be able to be canceled. Movement I hope is BF4 with clambering. Destruction I believe should be 70% of buildings. And for the love of God bring back servers!! I was happy to pay for them in BF3!!

Do you guys remember micro destruction in the close quarters dlc from bf3? I hope they could add a layer of micro destruction on surfaces apart of the more heavy destruction and also bullet holes instead of just textures of bullet damage that disappear after a while! Being a next gen only game might mean it's possible to see a great improvement in such details!

As the next Bf is slowly starting to show its new iteration I have started browsing r/battlefield again. Since 2018 I didn't see that sub. The userbase from that sub is now WAY more filled by d*mb opinions and by people who have no idea how a good battlefield game is. I can't blame them at this point. Last titles made the playerbase think like this since majority of people that could contribute to have good opinions left this franchise. It is depressing tbh. Lets hope the next title turn the tides

Hot take, But Battlefield V had a really good mechanic with being able to reinforce and build certain things, such as barbed wires, window covers, etc. especially when the building would get completely destroyed in which case building a wall of sandbags and more cover was just really needed

Yea I enjoyed that feature also. Another thing from bf5 are the call ins. I thought if used properly they could change the tide of the battle. Nothing like dropping a well timed JB-2 ontop of the volcano on Iwo Jima. There were games I’d get 20+ kills and then our team would successfully capture the point. They were useful at dealing with stalemates.

Games like Arma n shit honestly limit you to much and make things needlessly clunky. Like, Arma has so many fking keybinds thst you use the same key combos for 5 different actions. Its contrxt based and honestly gets in its own way. Games like Arma are why I honestly hate "muh realism" games now....they are just clunky and play bad....its like the opposite end of the realism spectrum and just as far from realism as the hitpoint games are. Tarkov is a bit better but still gets in its own way...

I fell like bfV reinforcements was a really good mechanic that helped with the problem of flatening buildings to the ground, it had the best of both worlds, and the movement should be a mix of bf5 "nimbleness" (roll, and climb, lean, slide, etc), bf 2042 tac sprint but slower and limited and the weight of the older games animations.

Maybe I’m a homer, but AI should have no place in a multiplayer shooter. The whole point is to fight with and against real players. Having AI in your game is basically giving cake to the bad players and making them feel all warm and fuzzy, while players who have an ounce of competitiveness get a worse experience because they kill AI. Perfect example of this is Fortnite. Also the voice lines either have to not be cringe or completely turned off in the next battlefield

The next battlefield must not be near futuristic Please. 2027-2030 is near future. We already living in the future now it's 2024 . After going to near future with bf2042 the next game should be modern. No years out ahead. BF4 was good but made this mistake of being present day modern - early to mid 2010s but set in 2020 . 2020 was not totally different irl but there were some differences and more advances in real life. 2042 is near futuristic but the thing is if you actually look at it it was not really futuristic and certainly didn't look like how the 2040s and 2050s will look like. Dice just doesn't seem to make a good futuristic game. 2142 was good but had issues similar. Dice should just not make any futuristic game for a while. The next game should be set in the late 2010s .

The core fan base doesn't like it. If they do it again with this next game, COD kids will play for a week or two and then go back to COD, and the core fans will reject it.

@@zephr147 no. The objective will keep players moving. You win in conquest, rush, or breakthrough by playing the objective. When you watch streamer gameplay of 2042 for example, all you see is obvious twitch shooter players going for as many kills as possible. There's little to no team play, or objective play. That is not battlefield. 2042 movement feels weightless and artificial. Bf3 movement felt weighty and grounded. I also preferred the fact you couldn't full auto someone from 200 meters. You had to burst fire to maintain some accuracy. I much prefer the latter, because it was far more immersive. No cheesy sliding or drop/jump shooting. It looks stupid and out of place in BF. Battlefield as a franchise is failing because it's trying to cater to players who are into other popular games. The core fan base doesn't like it. If they do it again with this next game, COD kids will play for a week or two and then go back to COD, and the core fans will reject it.

There must be a time delay, when you do ground sliding to standing back up and again doing it. The continuous ground sliding like in BFV is stupidity. i can understand you enders, you always had that competitive mindset. But most of BF players are casual players. This aint COD to have a movement like that. So, Continuous spamming of anything must not be present in BF at all.

Not to give you a repeatable movement advantage. Bf should have a very simple movement system and advanatages against opponents should come from team work. Not movement skill. For destruction i think you should be able to destroy small buildings on the map, but the key buildings conserve some playability and only be moderately destroyed like bigger buildings or objective related constructions

@@Mokolibi1 You can't compare Battlefield 4 and 3 with Battlefield 5. The mechanics are different, and the gameplay style is different. Of course, Battlefield 5 is beautiful, but if you ask 90% of veteran Battlefield players in general, you'll find that they prefer the movement system and mechanics of Battlefield 4 and 3 because they represent the real essence of war in battlefield series . When sliding was introduced in Battlefield 1, the gameplay changed, and the developers spent a lot of time working on it. I remember they released several updates for the game, particularly just to fix sliding issues. In reality, straightforward running and natural gameplay without exaggerated features like sliding could make the mechanics acceptable to everyone without having to see everyone in the server sliding around like fools loool .

I won't make the same mistake as I did with the previous BF, that was a fatal mistake for me. I only played Battlefield 2042 for about 200 hours; the game is just a scam and a fraud. I really hope the next BF saves the series, because it's definitely their last chance. It needs to be the game of the decade, the one that brings all Battlefield players together to create beautiful memories again.

For movement, literally copy paste BF5 movement, it honestly feels the best to use/play with. I do like the feel of BF4, even without a slide the actual momentum and animations are great, but BF5 is just that perfect middle ground where you can use it like traditional 2010s FPS or you can slide around like a crackhead. IMO destruction hurts the game, as it basically removes the level design away from the map, as well as leaving no cover. There is a reason why the best maps have very limited destruction. BF1 had the best movement. Minimal and fluent.
