Maybe platforms like SoundCloud will end up going through cycles when looked at long term. Like after the 2016-ish SoundCloud boom it died down and ton will come back up as a viable platform in the future
I really think Cole Bennett not putting on for new artists, everyone thinking that once they feature on someones song they gives them too much "clout", also no one shows face on socials with other people is what killed the current underground scene.
This gen is the sleeper gen. Nothing after the generation with X n all them would compare and everyone now days currently isn’t doing anything too amazing. I think the next gen will be the next big one. Music as a whole on standby until another real super star emerges
When I heard “Walk Away” from Southsidesilhouette I know for sure he’s bound to blow. Along with his other songs I can agree he has a lot of potential due to his versatility.
Untiljapan be saying some real shit he actually talking about something else but I agree it lacks the versatility and pretty much everything else the last gen had.
similar 2 lone: tana (his newer sound), dom corleo, hardrock, rollinthrax, southside, lifeless, unttiljapan, diorVSyou & Tefflon really anybody associated with 4ET & SICKÖ both collectives have lone influence artist. idc what anyone say THEIR MUSIC STILL GOOD💯.
I’m honestly surprised you haven’t gotten into redda’s music yet. I wouldn’t necessarily categorize him with this “new generation” of SoundCloud artists simply because he’s been making music for some time now, but the talent he has is bound to be noticed by a bigger audience. Same goes for the artist FourFive.
@@shougai4158 I would be lying if I said redda doesn't have a lot of misses. Some of his tracks are absolute mid, but there are few that stick out to me as gems. Our taste in music is purely subjective but I feel like if you were to go deeper into his discography, you'd find something that appeals to your ears.
Yeah I liked Southsides new EP and Hardrock is good af. Gotta figure out how to get into thrax though but solid list🤧 I only got two songs by Nerd1k but definitely potential there
the opium asthetic is dead unless u 16 and listen to that shit and hop trends theres so much more music to offer… bab ur older than me this trap shit is getting old
Bro everyone bob mentioned is running the underground atleast for a certain sound. Bob obviously knows about ppl like smokingskul nd osamason and everyone else but hes just talking about people that are making music wit tha ambient sound which is poppin rn
Bro niggas been saying music been dead ever since the SoundCloud scene took off in 2016…and honestly the old heads been saying it since pac and big died. Just like what you like, shit ain’t even that deep. It’s something out here for everybody to get into.
you missing context, old heads were saying rap was dead in 2016. the youth embraced it, this rap shit now is almost falling off completely. the new Gen hasn’t even crossed over mainstream besides yeat. last gen did.
@shida5320 Yeat ain't even mainstream he just popular to people who like soundcloud rap. I've never heard someone bump yeat irl and if you play yeat in most places people gon be like turn that shi off
@@MM-gp9mb bro there’s a world that exists outside of you and your town. Yeat has multiple songs that has well over 100 million streams, Money So Big was a hit. He’s the only one who crossed over into the mainstream even if you think he couldn’t maintain that.
@@shida5320 bro the youth are the one pushing the bullshit that’s getting exposure, it’s been this way for a long time. The youth drives the market of what is considered hot, it’s just worse now because of the internet.
Leek (lifelessgarments) been my fav rapper fa so long and same shit wit hardrock, japan, thrax and sss they all so hard nd been on top of soundcloud. Hope they all blow 🙏
bruh idk why yall be obsessed wit mfs that come up outa no where when the soundcloud scene is run by mostly hyperpop artist that shits on any carti clone and still has a great community… expand yall eardrums
Hey I’m completely new to the game and not like the usual rappers you listen to, but I try to be lyrical without trying too hard overall just have fun with words . Give me a listen and excuse my production for now .. but lmk what you think
Osama son literally the future listen to his album. shi remind me of carti early days, he dont gotta try to make sum aesthetic he jus got natural swag. also sum good flows, voice, and overall his sound is different. others may be on his wave but he running it by far. he jus gotta touch up his sound for a wider audience which i can def see happening.
I haven't been paying attention to rap in general tbh. Been looking solely at alt rock recently. Some decent bands i can mention that deserve more credit if anyone wants to hear my picks. Edit: so you guys wanted my list. Lemme oblige. So first I would like to mention that some of these are somewhat more well known while others are more obscure. There will be a few bands you've probably heard of. Starting off I'd like to bring up a more obscure band. I'm not sure if they still make music, but they are good nonetheless and they pay homage to 90s era bands like Nirvana, the smashing pumpkins, and Weezer. Kim normal. Definitely worth checking them out of you like to hear a more authentic, diy style. Next is a band called pretty vicious. They're song are you ready for me appears in the OST of Life is strange before the storm and it's a banger. They're very similar to bands like green day, or other pop punk acts, however have a much grungier and angsty theme going for them which separates them from most pop punk artists. Next is a relatively well known one but I like their stuff a lot and figured I'd mention them. Pierce the veil. They are very much the definition of emo. But don't get it twisted, it doesn't take anything from the music. My personal favorite pierce the veil songs are hell above and pass the Nirvana. They're very popular in the alternative scene of warped tour and whatnot, however I still think they deserve more recognition than they get. Next is another obscure one. It's not so much a band as it is a solo artist though. You probably know him. He makes rap music with a punk rock style and a very futuristic, cyberpunk style sound. Nascar Aloe. He's pretty popular in the underground, but I think he deserves more recognition and he still counts as obscure because he only has a few hits and they are barely hits outside of the underground. He's far from mainstream. Next is another more well known band. It's a hot take to even mention them but I'm a risk taker and I have many hot takes. Falling in reverse. Yes. That falling in reverse. The band with Ronnie radke. And yes I know Ronnie is a real jerk, but he has some bangers as far as music goes. That's my list. Hope y'all liked it and maybe y'all found a new artist you like through it. Edit 2: just found another band for y'all. The sickly hecks. Go check them out. Or don't. Nobodies forcing you to do it.
@@kidzn yeah I was realizing that when I was listening to it more often. Artists like xxxtentacion, bones, lil peep, lil tracy, yung lean, playboi carti, Uzi, etc. I'll be honest, I don't really like Uzi that much. Not my cup of tea tbh. But Carti, suicideboys, and xxxtentacion are artists that I still listen to here and there. I know ken Carson, yeat, kan kan, summrs, and a lot of underground artists also take a lot of inspiration from rock. It makes me happy tbh. I ain't an old head or anything, but I grew up listening to bands that my dad liked. Alice in chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, guns n roses, Metallica, slipknot, korn, Deftones, the sex pistols, queen, the Ramones, the dead Kennedy's. This was my childhood. Even if I didn't grow up in that era, I was raised on it. It was what got me into bands like my chemical romance, bring me the horizon, and pierce the veil as I grew up. It's what got me into artists like nascar aloe or zillakami. Rock is my life. Dead genre or not. I may enjoy other genres like rap, hip hop, rnb, jazz, etc. but rock is the genre that I will always stick to. It makes me feel happy knowing I'm not the only one who feels that way.
Just a small comment about “getting someone out the military” that is legally not possible. How do I know? I’m in it. There are rare cases on getting out before contract but an artist does not have the power to persuade the federal govt and DoD to take someone who signed a contract out of the services.
