I’d love this! So many find memories of walking on King Cobra near the end of its run. I personally think it’ll be an extreme spinner……or maybe just hope 😂❤
Well, if we're to believe the survey sent out to pass holders, a shuttle extreme spinner. Would potentially be in the cards; however, that likely wouldn't be a Mack, so I think it kinda defeats the purpose. Very Luke warm on anything labeled and extreme spinner UNLESS it's made by Mack. Thoughts? Also, very Luke warm on it being a shuttle coaster too.
@@PRC2019 absolutely pass on the concept they put out. If you're going to build only the second extreme spinner in the US, make it a REAL one. I'm talking Ride to Happiness level. Thing is, if they use the Vortex plot, they could drop into the ravine straight from the station like Time Traveler does. If they want something that's going to pull the crowds, a Mack extreme spinner is the best option. Only 2 in existence anywhere, and only 1 in the US, and it's about an 8 hour drive from KI. KI has enough B&Ms, and a dive coaster is right up the road at CP. If not an extreme spinner, at least a Mack multi launch, kind of like Copperhead Strike. An extreme spinner would be the best bet. That would bring more people because it's unique to the area. It would be the only viable option for a lot of people to ride that type of coaster since the other one is so far away.
@@Bnizzofashizzo I've ridden Time Traveler at Silver Dollar City, and am completely baffled as to why there isn't more of them in the US, let alone the rest of the world. Ride to Happiness is supposedly better. A Mack extreme spinner would be the PERFECT addition to Kings Island. For all of the above reasons in my last comment.
If they end up not putting in an extreme spinner, it'd be saying a lot of the direction of the park moving forward. An extreme spinner would be the absolute best fit for so many reasons, only thing I can imagine preventing one from going in is the $$ and capacity. With CW spending some serious coin for the 2025 project, there is still hope 🤞🏻
This is my home park. Just took my family back on June 4/5. If they installed us an RMC…….it wud be an amazing addition to an amazing line-up of coasters. The ride operations are (chefs kiss) great. Beast, Mystic, DB, Orion, Banshee was running 3 trains. ❤️🔥 two days was not long enough. Lol
I haven’t considered any other rollercoaster for the next coaster in that park than RMC. You showed Copperhead and I was like……nooooooooooo. RMC👏🏼 please a RMC. I wud cry my eyes out if it was CHS. Lol
@@patrickn8355 RMC was established in 2001. They hired Allen Schilke in 2009. SOB was demolished in 2012. New Texas Giant at Six Flags over Texas was reopened from RMC treatment in 2011. So RMC was actually around and rmcing coasters when SOB was demolished. Which is crazy to think…….it cud have been done. 🤔
I agree with both. The dive is way too overdone right now, and a new wing is already coming to KD. I must admit, I LOVE the gerstlauer infinity coaster idea that has recently been floated out. Wouldn't mind that addition in the slightest.
I'm still holding out hope for an S&S Axis for the Vortex plot. I don't really think it will happen, but I wish it would. I think that would be the perfect model for that plot. It's always been a plot used to show off new or one of a kind rides. First you had the original Bat there... Then you had the Tallest and most inversions record holder in Vortex. I feel like they could do something really special with an axis coaster there.
Would be a great fit. However, Kings Islands history of adding major coasters recently has been limiting risk not taking chances on prototypes, etc. Kinda why I'm leaning so heavily towards a surf coaster. Concept is proven, AND it's a B&M.

I think that’s way too big of a risk honestly. Would it be epic? Yes. Just potential for so much down time and maintenance issues considering the fact it’s a prototype with zero built anywhere yet. Gotta have proof of concept at a park before six flags/cedar fair shells out in my opinion. And no, the prototype at their factory doesn’t count 😂
@@patrickn8355 I'll tell you something else I think would be awesome there, that's still not likely, but maybe a little more likely, is one of the new gen vekoma tilt coasters... The only reason I think it's a little bit of a possibility is Snoopy's soapbox racers... it seems like sort of a fill in year coaster anyway. A lot of times, these parks will buy multiple coasters from the same manufacturer to get a better deal. So, I'm not saying its very likely, but its possible they could have worked out a deal like that when they bought that lil boomerang. I definitely would be satisfied with it.
The last time KI received a noteworthy coaster was the installation of Mystic Timbers all the way back in 2017. KI is in need of a stand-out coaster, it's the only major park in the Cedar Fair chain without a true elite coaster. Mystic, Beast, & Diamondback are all great coasters, but KI is missing that one coaster that really sets it apart.
There’s been major talk that when cedar fair went to check out velocicoaster they bought multiple of them. There’s a very high chance that we’re seeing canadas wonderland build theirs right now, and I’ve heard lots of speculation of kings island is the other park getting one of this model from intamin.
As much as I would personally LOVE hearing this pan out to be reality, I just can't see this happening. I've been avoiding making my video on this topic for a few weeks, but might need to get made sooner. I would buy the possible Zamperla rumor as being second most likely for CW...and Intamin as a distant 3rd...but still not what my prediction is.
I definitely see a modern day King Kobra at Kings Island within the next 10 years, I see a new Vekoma as well, likely a multi-launch but who knows.. Love the idea of them working with Intamin or RMC but doubt it, I think when they reuse son of beast station its going to back to the old plot of land used by Son of Beast, yes it might need to go through the area occupied by Banshee.. I think the only downfall to a Mack Extreme spinner at Kings Island is the low capacity but sure there are ways to make it better. Kings Island has a lot of land to work with, some of it is unusable or very costly to use. Whatever they do will be something big but not outshine what's next for Cedar Point.
Fortunately, because of the strength of the rest of the parks lineup, a lower capacity ride could still thrive. However, time traveler's dispatch times are phenomenal and they consistently run 2-3 trains. I don't see capacity or through put to be an issue.
My hunch. Soapbox Racers was included in the deal w/ Vekoma, who will be doing CW's 2025 project. Remember KI announced it long after the other CF parks, the timing was very odd. For the Vortex plot, a more extreme Penguin Trek or Extreme Spinner is the only way to go. Think 4 or 5 inversions max, an inversion machine isnt KI's target demographic of being a family friendly park. Something the whole family can enjoy (even grandma's) ala the extreme spinner is without a doubt the homerun choice. Surf coaster seems to be too gimmicky, and records can still be had with North America's fastest, longest, and most inversion spinner. Just my 2 cents
I can attest that the ride experience on pipeline is like nothing else on the market. It is a 100% crowd pleaser. Thoosies and GP alike could hold hands and sing kumbaya. 😂
@PRC2019 I'll have to reserve my final opinion until I'm able to ride it, just seems that a stand up had its chance, and now most parks converted them. They keep trying to make it work for some reason 🤷♂️ B&M also has the same seat mechanism that allows for the pops on pipeline, for its new 2 across trains. Think a souped up twister like Penguin Trek w/ those seats could fit well too. Interesting to see which direction they take
Kings Island sent out a survey to passholders for the next coaster and BNM surf coaster was not on it. It was an indoor coaster, a family multi launch coaster, b&m Gigi dive coast, coaster, and a mock streams, spinner shuttle coaster , and there was the not a mention of a surf coaster in that list
I would not put too much thought into those survey's in terms of rides that your park will get. These are very carefully crafted, yet appearing different park to park, they are designed to identify market consistencies. Maybe I can make a video regarding some of those details of enough people would find it interesting. IE: Kings Dominion 2025 project is reportedly not identical to its survey options, but instead borrows from 2 other parks past surveys to formulate a complete ride concept.
its going to be a vekoma lets all just say it vekoma is the most popular company next to B&M they only problem with b&m is the price. so vekoma can come in and build a nut case of a ride like energylandia has. id love to see 10 inversions. id still ride the thing lol.
