Honestly, Nintendo has been immaculate with this series so far. SNES: First racing game based mostly around multiplayer 64: First 3D Mario Kart & First Mario Kart with voices Super Circuit: First handheld Mario Kart with the prequel to retro tracks (which funnily enough were referred to as retro tracks in the next handheld title) Double Dash: (There are SO MANY things to list from here on out, so simplified versions now) The only Mario Kart with two racers per Kart, with special items and the introduction to Toadette and Bob-omb Blast (to name a few) DS: Online, mission mode, CPU battle mode & actual retro tracks Wii: Bikes, tricks, manual vs automatic, new drift system, coin runners, Miis being playable, more babies, Rosalina, Funky Kong, the list goes on 7: Customisable Karts, Lucky 7, Gliding and Underwater sections 8/deluxe: Anti-grav, bike return, Renegade Roundup and Shine thief return Tour: Real life tracks, automated vehicles, MORE characters (like a LOT MORE) BCP: Birdo, Petey, Wiggler, Kamek, Funky Kong, Diddy Kong, Pauline and Peachette return with a plethora of returning tracks including tour city tracks, tour exclusive tracks AND out right new tracks If there is any company that can blow us away with Mario Kart, or just racing games in general, it's Nintendo and has been Nintendo since the SNES era.

I don't like the idea of a Smash Bros style Mario Kart mainly because it would ruin what Mario Kart is and some of the characters from other Nintendo franchises would not fit with the art style of Mario characters like Samus, Snake and Cloud a Smash Kart just wouldn't work but that's just my opinion tell me what you guys think do you want this or do you think its a bad idea?

What I can see happening in the next Mario Kart game is that each track changes as you progress through the laps. The best track I can think of that has this feature is Wii Grumble Volcano where on laps 2 and 3 the track starts to fall apart making the race a little more challenging. Another example of a track that changes as a race goes on is GBA Lakeside Park. In that course, it starts out all sunny on lap 1, but on laps 2 and 3 the sky goes dark as the volcanoes start erupting in the background.

That sounds like a nightmare :') I understand the sentiment you're going after though All in all, I'm super hyped for a new Mario Kart game, I just have no idea how they even propose to follow up on MK8DX's *96* tracks. Do they keep the trend going and bring EVERYTHING back? Probably not, but then that raises the question of, what then? This is more of a stretch and I doubt it'll happen, but I hope they bring back the physics from Mario Kart Wii/Double Dash, and also the... openness...? of the MK:DD tracks. While I love the responsiveness and the smooth physics in MK8, they become very stale after you play enough, while the physics from older games stayed interesting. And then the openness thing, I miss the random side paths that you could take in MK:DD that didn't really give that much of a shortcut (and if anything, took longer), but that added so much more interest to the course. For example, Mushroom Bridge, going off to the right immediately after the starting line, to drive into a pipe and then get shot back onto the track. No point whatsoever, but it was fun!!! Or like Mushroom City, with all the branching paths (Yoshi Valley does this sorta, but all the paths are very obvious; Mushroom City's paths felt more hidden and like you stumbled upon them).

Here is what I would love for Mario Kart. Title: maybe SUPER Mario Kart Double Dash or something like that. Customization: customization for each combination of characters and vehicles should be different from others, having their own unique parts to choose from. No two combination sets being alike. Each two characters get a variety of parts and paint jobs to choose from. Coins: Still function in the racing like in 7 and 8, but also, all the coins you collect in the race will also be used as currency to buy more parts and paint jobs. Courses: Like in 7 and 8, but also maybe add in eventually almost if not all the courses from all past games. And maybe some courses if not all of them go through changes during races Special Items: Special items should return. Like the bros' fireball bursts and Bowser's giant shell and maybe new special items for each character like Mario having a cape feather to fly over everyone and gain a good boost in speed. But it would only last shortly or til you slam the ground blowing away all around you. X3 Stats: Stats should also be able to be tweeked some after you select your vehicle parts. Like say if you want to reduce your weight for the sake of more handling or your traction for better acceleration. But only a limited amount to keep the game balanced. We don't want the speedy cool vehicles like b dasher and P wing to suffer like they did in 8 Deluxe Trophies: For More difficult classes you finish and win, the trophies should get bigger, shinier and more detailed. And If you get a perfect score in a cup, instead of a gold trophy, you oughta get a SHINY SPARKLY FANCY DETAILS PLATINUM TROPHY. Most importantly, it needs to have all karts bikes mtvs and combos worthy of being awesome in competitive online. Speed vehicles being REALLY speedy to make up for low acceleration. And MAYBE a decent mini turbo in case they get slammed alot. Also keep 200cc and all cup tour

I'm actually expecting new & returning characters, new & returning tracks, new & returning items, and new game modes from the game. I know it'll be out around 2025 with the new Switch 2, but it will be worth the wait

Crossroads could be when two roads meet right? So maybe it’s like a stage morph thing, kind of like in Smash Ultimate. Maybe after triggered by an item or something within the game changes the track you’re on to a new track.

Mario Kart: Ultimate open world racing game with everyone in it with 9 skins or costumes for each. Unlock characters by racing them you also get their cart glider and wheels but you must come in first the other skins will be trying to keep you back! You can unlock the skins later after playing as the character and finishing their challenges. Achievement stacking has also made a comeback! Clear 150 mode and you get that trophy in 50 and 100 without playing the modes. And finally fan Made content well be in the Mario kart store just like Minecraft this can include tracks and visuals like optafine I think that how is written.

And they need to make the AI harder. Maybe only for custom games. And you can even choose to turn off rubberbanding.

Ok, here me out What if there's a customizable track in Mario Kart

Even though I play Mario Kart for racing 'I ain't played battle mode in a long time' it would be nice to have other ways to play the game. As for the coin yeah getting coins from the track/air is good but I don't like getting them as items I hope that goes away.

I'd like alternative modes where you could have option for a double dash style. two characters per kart. Or a mode with Diddle Kong Racing-like item system. If you know, you know. This might break the game, but if they can make it work, it would be awesome. I could go into a rant on how I don't want more non-Mario characters in the roster, but I know that is a hot take for some people.

11:15 knockout gamemodes use to be the normal up until mk7. previous mariokart titles such as mkds had balloon battle which was a knock out battle as well as shine runners which was also a knock put battle (basically coin runners but with different rules not to be confused with shine thief). I liked it when you could be eliminated from the match not just sidelined just to get put back in. I understand why nintendo made this change but at least make it an option to be turned off when you do want to have a match that isn't just spam a bunch of items and see how many point you get (Bob-omb blast).

I like the thought of tracks having their own things I might not like it during hard races but it might be fun including turning into the classic look.

For battle mode Mario kart 8 and 8 deluxes maps were to big I miss the maps from GameCube those were the best

I was thinking of a juggernaut battle mode, where one person has some boosted coin count and loses like 2 coins per hit. Then when they run out of coins the round ends, but they can also use stronger items, such as 6 green shells or a pseudo blue shell that targets the player that has done most damage

I would love it if the next Mario Kart is open terrain or arena, and all the karts race to get to a certain point where a Star is (like how the Star moves around the Mario Party board). But I think what they'll really do is combine Mario and Donkey Kong, similar to how Mario and Sonic combined for the Olympics. That's the "X" or "cross" -- Mario and Donkey Kong Kart. Think of the movie where kart racing was a Kong thing, not a Mario thing. Think of the new DK movie that's potentially coming and the new DK expansion at Nintendo Land. That's not really what I want, but that's my prediction.

I seriously dont see any reason for a new Mario Kart any soon. Mario Kart 8 gives you basically all you need, almost 100 courses, beautiful graphics and so on.

It’s akin wired to think that we’re also past the 30th anniversary of Mario Kart. Which is why I think some kind of travk creator mode is warranted. And they incorporate online into it by allowing to upload these custom tracks to a ‘track world’ if you catch my drift (although I feel that they would either stick with using Course World as the name, or make up a new one like Raceway). Maybe they could even let you use the game’s built in race tracks as sample courses like the original Super Mario Maker did with its developer made levels. Kinda like the ROM hack made for Mario Kart Wii known as Mario Kart Wii Custom Tracks Grand Prix, which brings me to a potential name for this new Mario Kart: Mario Kart X: Custom Tracks Grand Prix. This name makes it clear that it’s the 10th Mario Kart game by using X as the Roman numeral 10, and makes it very clear that you can make custom tracks, and upload them for others to play.

Have you ever done a poll / thread on "what music tracks from other mario games (i.e. M+L: Bowser's Inside Story, M+S: Sochi2014WOG, NSMBDS etc.) would people like to hear in a Mario Kart game?" There are some really good ones that are obvious such In the Finale from M+L: Bowser's Inside Story, but also, there are some also a lot of Mario games which people have not played which may have some music tracks that would fit really well in Mario Kart. I would like a clanwar/mogi mode like in Retro Rewind, where you get put into teams of 5 and the points reflect that but the items work as if it's FFA. Also, CTs should be in every mario kart game

Thank you. I get so sick of people talking about the next Mario Kart and suggesting "Nintendo Kart!" or saying "the new Mario Kart doesn't need any kind of special twist, just give me more tracks!". This fanbase needs more imagination. You lay out an extra blueprint for where the series can go from here. The one thing I'd add is having more variant courses like Tour. Tour has lot of neat twists on existing tracks with R variants where you race through the track in the opposite direction or T variants that adds tons of trick ramps, and I'd like to see that idea carried over to the console Mario Karts. It would add so much variety, essentially quadrupling the course selection with minimal effort needed to add the extra variants.

What about The Super Mario Bros Movie 2?
