@adamputz6043 he isn't the all time int leader...never been to back to back super bowls ..never was an mvp 3x ...and never held the NFL passing yardage record..and ( now 3rd or 5th place on that list...will hofer.....so that last gunfighters ...gunslinger is Brett favrve....we figure the flaw in you're logic... and realize ..James who ?? You'll get it then.
He’s got some of that in him but with his athleticism he’s not quite the same category of quarterback. Not that Love is a statue but he’s not the greatest athlete and Josh Allen is as dangerous a runner as Lamar or Jalen Hurts
sick of this narrative with love that he's unsafe with the ball. his throws might be "risky" but the majority of his picks are a result of tips and receiver drops then him making bad decisions
Amen to that. He has confidence and 90% of the time it works out! Hope that people start to realize after some time it isn’t “luck” if it keeps happening
He rips the ball just out of range forcing the receivers to tip the ball. That’s on him. Damn near lost the game with that final shot against the Texans. No reason to take that shot
People care way too much about advance stats nowadays. If he doesn’t play more like Aaron Rodgers for a couple years in his career, unfortunately he’ll never win one. I hate MVP voting now. It’s just an advanced stat QB race.
I have to agree that the MVP doesn’t get treated like it should. Not to say Lamar wasn’t good (although I’m not high on him personally), but I still feel McCaffrey deserved MVP, because he added so much value and elevated the Niners. If anything, I think him being out this year has just emphasized that.
@@ethanbrown9666 disagree tbh. If he is on a 10+ win team and leads the league in touchdowns behind a top 5ish offence hes in with a shout. The North is basically a playoff run by itself so he will get a lot of primetime games to showcase himself
The Texans game this last Sunday was the first time Love really reminded me of Favre. He made some very risky throws and seemed to wanna go for it all in one pass instead of smaller chunks of yardage. Rodgers always played for the numbers not touchdowns although he could throw a lot of them.
That one pick where he overthrow Watson wasn't necessarily bad. I just think on those medium range throws he seems to be a bit more inaccurate, but I don't think he throws it if he doesn't think Watson can catch it. And he could've, but it's still a harder one even for a guy his size. It was definately a 40/60 ball with more risk than reward, but I think he still made the right choice. The one where Dobbs is open on the out route and he throws it inside to I think wicks? And it gets picked off, that was a bad read.
I really don't care, but you ever considered that Rodgers avoided being risky with his throws so that he didn't put the defense in a position to make up for his mistake? Maybe he knew it could cost them.thebgame just like it happened with Favr? I cannot figure out why you people talk so nasty about Rodgers never realizing you aren't in his head. Yall are really nutty being this emotional over a game.
@@ClamsCasino1997 he never had 1.5 to 1.2 td to int record like favre did...nor the pass yds.td record or in record..nor play 18 to 20 years...that's the original gunslinger...
I think opportunistic + big play seeking are the attributes you're looking for when you say unpredictability, and not unpredictability in itself. And Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford fits your definition regardless so we're at least at 3 in the league. I'd argue there are plenty of unsuccessful gunslingers all the time but the "clutch gene" is what helps make a successful one that fans actually remember.
I would say Stafford is but I wouldn’t say Matt Ryan was, Matt Ryan was a pocket passer with a style comparable to Drew Brees, Kirk cousins, Tom Brady style pocket precision passing not saying Ryan couldn’t throw on the run he just was more of a pocket style if he was leaving the pocket most of the time he was throwing it away if no one was open and I know he would say fuck it and throw it up to Julio when he was covered but every qb would that lol it wouldn’t take a gunslinger to take that chance
idk man i feel like allen and mayfield are both gunslingers. idk if i would even consider love a gunslinger, seems to try and just make the best play at all times. doesnt seem to take big risks
Baker is a gunslinger. Caleb Williams is . Josh Allen is . Gunslinger are more common in the NFL today then they have been in in decades. Jordan is just one of them.
The thing about Love is the 2 games he missed were against pretty bad teams (Colts and Titans) so if he were to play those games, chances are he would have at least thrown for 4 or more TDs between those 2 games which would put him on pace for a 45 TD season
Wild thing, he still is on pace to. He can at most 15 games because he missed 2. He is averaging 3tds a game.hsk he can get 45, but I think high 30s or low 40s is where he will end.
way rather Love play like this and win games with his arm than to tone it down and play less aggressive; maybe resulting in less picks but less “big” plays as well.
I think the first one was a lazy route that should have been flatter which would have cut off the db, wouldn’t necessarily put that 100% on Love. I could be wrong though
Disagree with #3 TD clip being a gun slinger throw, when the defender is playing man like that and doesn’t have eyes on the QB that throw is very safe.
GB (or SF QB) 3200 yards, 25 TDs, 15 INTs; Wow!!! Those are MVP numbers!!!! Any other QB (especially Dallas), 3500 yards, 40 TDs, 15 INTs; You threw 15 iINTs?!?! What is wrong with you?!?!
Im so fucking hype for love to throw a watson 50/50 ball against savage this weekend bc we ALL know how terrible savages ball skills are (i will die on the hill that savage is an all pro safety if he had trevon diggs/daron blands ball skills)
I don't want him to be a gunslinger. Packers run the ball well and play stingy defense (most of the time). They would benefit more from a little more conservative QB play.
Love is not a gunslinger all he does os throw picks every single game I'm a huge packers fan but love is the highest paid qb he better start playing like it will got win us anything if he keeps playing the waybhe does thaysbthe truth
Much better than Favre with picks. His timing is amazing. He’s a GOOD gunslinger. Baker Mayfield on the other hand is a Favre clone, a gunslinger that I and MOST of Packer nation were happy to send off.
Lol, no. I am a big Love fan but until he wins like Favre and has a SB, that is a hard no. He is young though so he can do it. Also, no people were not happy when Favre left. Some sure, but if you remember that family night during that ordeal in 2008, Favre always has had a ton of support in GB. I mean they even sold out for his Packers Hall of Fame homecoming as well and there wasn't even a game. That is some revisionist history there. Maybe don't try to speak for the majority.
Gunslinger doesn't mean just plain bad. AR has no clue where the ball is going when he throws it. He is far closer to Tim Tebow than any of the gunslingers of yesteryear mentioned here.
Yeah I think you misunderstood what gunslinger means. It just means they push the limits and have a high risk reward. Most of the "gunslingers" win more than they lose. So how is AR even mentionable here? Yeah he throws risky throws but doesn't win.
