I thought this too Randy. I think having the RU-vid channel shows people just how hard Silas works and what's involved day to day. Shows people that really they are getting a good deal.
Silas, you always have some cool stuff at your yard, as far as, antique vehicles. If I lived near your yard, I would be there spending all my money on your cool stuff. Always great to see old stuff get a new life. Take care.
I was told a guy's Uncle had original driveshaft shortened and balanced. Then he swapped the rear in his Hemi Challenger that caused the shaft to blow on the strip and almost flipped his car. Don't know back that was a story at Capitol Speedway on the East coast back in the 70's. Love your channel and we all wish we would have saved alot of our classic cars and trucks but life happens. God Bless you and your family and America!. Uncle Jeff!
All I have to say they don't make them like that anymore the old trucks they bring a lot of memories to the old folks once again thank you for your video
Salis that was great loved it really great loved that old truck state truck thank you for sharing and your time was really great never miss one thank you.
Corvairs are no doubt the best American cars/trucks/vans for EV conversions. I'm not excited about EVs, but GM/Chevrolet did an experimental EV Corvair in 65/66! It was called the ElectroVair, and it still exists! It's in the GM Heritage Collection! There's a really well done EV 1962 Corvair 95 Loadside in a video in RU-vid! Well built conversion, but sadly he chose the rarest Corvair made (1 of 369 built!) for the conversion! For now, my fleet of Corvairs (earlies, lates and FCs) will stay gasoline powered!
@@johnnydeville5701 I just picked up a 62 greenbrier last weekend. I have been watching this channel for a long time, now that I have one seams like there are vans every were I look.
Silas, you are a prime example of someone who practices the 3R's, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle in that order. Not everything can be saved, whether it be economics or condition and you do the best you can whilst maintaining your business. God bless and have a great day.
WOW that 1963 Chevrolet Corvair 95 Corvan was awesome! Looks like an excellent van to get going again! I'm sooooo happy you didn't get to cut it up! I see you have a Ford Ambulance in the yard now too! Great video! Funny about the bus!
I've seen many many burnt vehicles and a few had the driveshafts blow up like that. I guess the air in them expand to the point they blow up. It's pretty neat.
I loved watching you cut up some vehicles. Very very interesting since I know absolutely zero about cars, trucks etc and scrap yard work. You mention “wall art”. Can you ever show a piece that is finished so I can see exactly what you are talking about. Love your content Silas.
Love the look of those 47 Chevys, exactly what I've liked since I became interested in cars 40+ years ago. Would buy them in a heartbeat if I lived a little bit closer, at least on the same continent.
I love what you do. I'd volunteer my time in trade for goodies any time but I'm In Arizona. If it did not cost so much to ship I'd buy that 292 from that truck that sat stored in a barn but I can't have everything. I really wanted to try and get the 65 Chevy car you pulled out of a barn but you sold it really fast. I'm age 67 and still going strong building hot rods and rat rods but stuff in Arizona and anywhere on this side of the country is highly desirable and priced as such. If it did not cost so much in fuel I'd haul my 24 foot enclosed trailer to your place and do like some of your other customers and buy and haul back all kinds of crazy things. But until it all dies down I have to leave that thought on the back burner. Great video as always my friend. Keep em coming when you can. Thanks
Silas - while it hurts to see those beautiful old trucks cut up, the truth is they're beyond hope of restoration. The next best thing is saving the useable parts, be it for period-correct restoration projects or simply for art. What I'm trying to say is I like your business model! You're performing a valuable service, saving the parts people need to restore other old trucks, recycling a lot of steel and iron in the process, and making a bit money while you're at it. And I've got to say watching you and your crew at work is fascinating! Good job, Dude! Keep them videos comin'! The algorithm lets me know each time you post a video, and I make it a point to never miss one.
I bought a 63 Corvair panel van two months ago for no other reason than I always wanted one. Mine has the rear door windows factory deleted. The first task is get it running again and new brakes. Chevy designed the cab forward concept so the first line of defense in a head on collision is your knee caps! No seat belts either. Once it's life is over I'll make a camper out of it and nose for wall art.
Very cool old trucks. They can’t all be saved, the demand just isn’t there, so I like that you take what is salvageable and put it to use or pass it along for others to enjoy. That truck bed should make a nice trailer. You don’t have to worry about taxes, insurance and all the maintenance needed to keep an old truck going that you might only use one a month. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Peace
Exactly. Since it’s a homemade farm trailer I won’t even need to tag it as long as I only use it for stuff that I haul off of my property. I won’t be able to use it for the recycling business but that’s ok.
👍👌👏 A ton of things happen in this video. Congrats! I love the idea of building a dump trailer out of the rest of the good condition farm truck. Hope that we will see a vid about it soon. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all of you.
Man oh man, wish your channel had been running in 2000 when I was hot into redoing old cars. Man you have stuff I sure would have redone to flip…..ugggg, love the video!!! 👍👍
49 International KB-7 is one of my favorite clips in this video but the whole video was great. What's up with all the signs coming in? Have a fantastic day!
Shop-Shop for More Wall Hangers ! Love that old Green Truck ! Yes - Good Idea to throw Your Engines onto a Pallet and bring it to the Auction - if it worked for other People why not ! You got a Bus suddenly and don;t know were it came from - wow ! Nice early 60's Ford Truck - what a Brilliant Condition for sure - Fantastic Barn Find - Great Score ! Another Great Video of a some very Busy Days ! Many Cheers from us in Australia !!!!
We figured out where the bus came from about 2 weeks later. I guess my dad had bought that bus 6 months ago and the guy had said he’d let us know when he could drive it out. He didn’t let us know he was bringing it and my dad had forgotten about it 😆
Brother Silas i really Love that Green Ford 600 Grain truck. If i could have got to it i would have made a flatbed out of it, Buffed the paint and made it my daily driver. where i live in Rural central Louisiana i would probably have to worry about it getting stolen lol.
Maybe I missed it, but does the gentleman who buys the multiple cabs have a RU-vid channel or website? Think the various project results should be spectacular! PS - great video today!
I like the Internation KB. The big round fenders and the cool looking grille make for a nice looking front end. What is the best way to get in touch with you for pricing if we see something we like?
