Nick your a gem of a dude. The love you show for the ppl who subscribe and are patreon members is so genuine more ppl with Big channels could learn a thing or two from you. Merry Christmas Nick. Thanks for everything you do and always bringing a smile to our faces every video you make. Take care brotha.
We need to see a picture of you and Metal Complex shaking hands. And to commemorate it a shirt with "A beautiful thing" on the front and "moving on!" on the back.
Being a new viewer/subscriber when I saw the length of this video in my feed I thought "eh I'll watch a couple minutes and skip through this video." Well 1 hour and 5 minutes after starting the video I'm writing this comment and that's a beautiful thing.
Nick - Thanks for still being here. Your voice and content will always remind me of when I was a bright-eyed noob so many years ago trying to figure out if the ONE "high end" knife I was going to buy was going to be the ZT0452CF or the Spyderco Kapara. Oh, how we've all grown... I'd love a Mini Tolk one day. They look like fantastic tools. The Skaha is also criminally underrated. The Nirvana is a prime example of what I wish Spyderco would try to capture once again (the Stovepipe doesn't even remotely count). Almost everything Ferrum Forge makes doesn't get the attention it deserves. Merry Christmas!
As a lucky man who has been able to handle and own many of the same knives you have, your input is always appreciated. Whether gem or junk, I look forward to Nick's honest take on a very fun hobby. cheers and hope the holidays find you well!
Nick, I'm loving the video. Haven't gotten all the way through yet but I have to say, space kitty scales are amazing! Also I really wish I could get excited about Spyderco the way you di, but I just can't enjoy the FRN scales. Looking forward to seeing what 2023 brings you and your channel. All the best!
talismans do matter. love the collection update, love the stories, love the connections they represent. hope all's well in Nicklamabad and best wishes for the year ahead.
Your Herman collection is drool-worthy. Gives me something to shoot for! That Holt Spectre also. Thanks for making time to share your nicely curated collection, Nick.
Nick, this is amazing.. I was bored out of mt mind scrolling RU-vid when suddenly an early holiday present has arrived. Stellar collection. love your video
Hi Nick, I'm somewhat new to the hobby and my wife watched this along with me. She has a much better understanding, thanks. Not sure that will translate into more agreement on future purchases though. Happy holidays
Love the collection sir! Your channel and content was instrumental in my decision to start my own RU-vid channel! So thank you for that and for all your HONESTY and wonderful content! Merry Christmas!
Thanks for sharing Nick! You are our “gem” in this community and appreciate your content year after year. I loved the Olamic btw! I recently stumbled across some of there beautiful pieces. Merry Christmas and happy New Year neighbor just down the 5/805 split 👋🏼👋🏼
I was watching Pete on an old Cedric and Ada, testing M4. He thanked you for sending him the KME. Very nice of you, and I think that gave him huge control over his edges. Good on you!
Best by far reviewer on the www, many times I tune in just for the comfort factor. All the way from the UK mate. Merry Christmas Also just one thing, we know where the world's Titanium reservoirs are.
Nick I have my actual Cub Scout Knife from 1968, made by Camillus in New York. A few years ago I had it reconditioned by Wallace at Rock USA Cutlery also in Camillus, NY. A gem of a unicorn 🦄
Neat collection Nick. I haven't brought a Herman knife yet, but on top of my most wanted list. I do have the Hawk C and without a doubt the best OTF knife made to date. Zero blade play, which is a beautiful thing! Merry Christmas.
You still have fantastic culinary tastes. No trends or agendas, just appreciation for things unto themselves based on their merits. And you make it a point to kindly interweave respect for their respective makers/companies in your videos when pertinent. So much respect. And honored for the shout-outs. Apologies for these belated comments.
Whenever I am reminded of Isham's death I always get this very heavy feeling in my stomach. Not just because he died, which was tragic enough, but it almost feels like the end of an era in the cutlery industry as a whole. When Isham was on the scene, designers weren't afraid to take risks, because they knew that if they weren't, he was going to. It's gonna be very hard to match that kind of originality.
Nick, I can't tell you how excited I am that you noticed my previous comment! Thank you so much! I had a question which of course you are under no obligation to answer, but I was wondering if you had given up completely on Zero Tolerance because I haven't seen anything from their lines in quite a while.
I love Monterey Bay designs knives. I have the xlc in titanium and it is a beautiful knife. Elijah Isham was an artist. His death was tragic and sadly another artist dies Young. I have many of his designs. And I think the Arakis is my favorite
Nick have you ever seen a watch made by Nike. Called the minute man. They are hard to find. Also I have a couple Mavados. Also recommend I have an older round tungsten carbide models.
I very much respect your experience having owned or handled so many pocket knives. I would love to know what your all time favourite carry knife would be that’s under $1000
Would love to see you check out the VC Edge Interface. I know its not an easily available or accessible knife for your viewers to get their hands on, but Jayson VanCamp at VC Edge is doing something truly unique and remarkable with his composite CF and M390 blade. CF isn’t for everyone, but it’s refreshing to see in an industry that, as you alluded, has seemed a little stale recently. I’ve got one I’d be happy to send for you to check out and hear your thoughts on, even if it’s never made into a full review/video for your channel.
Nick, would you please elaborate on why you would choose the TRM Neutron 2 w/contoured Ti over the Quiet Carry Drift? I have and love both, and probably lean more towards the Drift by a slight margin. I know it’s subjective, but curious to hear your thoughts. For me, I prefer the action and steel on the Drift, although the choil isn’t my favorite, and I prefer the longer cutting edge on the Neutron.
@@NickShabazz good points there. I do wish the clip side scale on the TRM left more distance to the thumb stud. I can’t do the spydie flick on mine since the thumb stud is so close to the scale. Also switched out stick clip with a bugout clip. Fantastic slicer though!
@@NickShabazz btw, long time fan, and appreciate the scientific rigor and humor you bring to your reviews. Thank you for putting out educational and entertaining content!
i carry a pm2 emerson everday at work with a lightning otf. the lightning gets used most sadly. days off i carry a lightning otf and whatever the hell i feel like....im talking sog seal pup elite or tops operator 7 like BIG ASS KNIFE but..i use that lightning. lol. i have the gitd endura and thats my FAVORITE. ffg as well.
Great video. The one thing I don’t understand and that’s for anyone who has one is the Grismo Norseman, I had to sharpen one, and the blade shape to be doesn’t hold a “real world” purpose. Don’t get me wrong it’s a beautiful knife, just personally for me, I wouldn’t own it because I know I’d never carry it. It would be a safe Queen that I’d end up selling. Glad to see ya back Nick, seems like you disappeared for awhile.
He had to give up on the old mat because it was getting beat up. This is perforated leather, pretty sure. He did do a video about it, titled “ The end of an era” I believe.
Merry Christmas Nick! You're the best! I can not describe the monumentally, insanely large impact you've had on my life not only in the hobby but in all hobbies. Your way of viewing things from minor details all the way to big issues is a very amazing and singularly oodd and unique way of looking at things in the hobby. I hope your personal life allows sooner than later for you to go back to putting out the amount of content you used to but even if you only had one video a year I'd still subscribe and watch it! You, Neeves and MC are my driving home from and driving to work playlist non stop! Thanks so much for taking place of the bad news they play on the radio every day!!!
Damn man, you must have a sad life lol. Not trying to be a dick, but you might as well suck the guys dick with the weird shit your saying. Idk why people like you worship dudes like this on the internet saying he makes your life so much better bc he sits at a table and talks about a knife he has😂😂🤷 a guy like this will literally post a video with a knife and say here's my knife it's cool and I like it and then I'll see people like you comment saying omg you changed my life with such impactful videos. Like wtf???🤦♂️🤦♂️ idk, it's just not normal for people to do that but I assume your just trying to get attention from the guy bc you'd love to take that dick from him by the sound of it 🤣🤣🤣
Glad I'm not down to one knife because the overall effect is such a beautiful thing, having variety and novelty, but my one knife would definitely be TOPS Knives custom shop Ute. For carry and actually cutting it's the most favorable and reminds me of my work family and two years at TOPS Knives! It is thirsty when I go to make a cut! It's one knife that makes me love 440C
Every day is something different, that's the life of a reviewer, and it also depends on what I'm doing that day. But like I said, if I had to choose just one, Neutron 2, Full Ti.
@@rossginn1171sub TRM’s email updates, they drop often (enough) with availability that easily rivals any Spyderco Sprint. I’ve owned (4) and they’ve been purchased directly from TRM with no website crashes or frustration. Hope that helps.
I bought this knife a few months ago. Sprang for the textured grip at $30 more (arg). I personally prefer an over-built knife. Always carry a smaller knife and it's comforting to know that this knife can handle task a larger knife would be used for. I do wish it was a little thinner behind the edge. I'm sending it to Rob Bixby to put his awesome edge on it. Your bad and ugly on this knife was minimal than compared to most your reviews. Keep up the good work. I'll help watching.
Hyped maybe, but the Rosie is for me a near-perfect design & execution in almost every way. You can even balance it on all six sides, rare for a pocketknife.
