The team finally set up the booth for the show, we're still jet lagged but we are raring to go. We have 60 beautiful Artist, Artist Elite, Masterworks, our brand new Laureate; and a couple dozen amazing Yairis. I just bought 2 Yairi dreads. Not new ones, I lucked into someone thinning out his personal stash. I picked up a 1980 DY 45 and a 1987 DY77 (SLM anniversary model)

@Invertedworldx For real! My first "nice" acoustic was a sunburst Martin D-28, and then a Gibson Songwriter in Rosewood Burst. Both great guitars. Then I watched the video on the Yairi factory in Gifu, Japan and was amazed by the craftsmanship and the entire story. I ordered the DYMR70SB, and caught the bug! Next was the WY1 folk. Alvarez and the Yairi line do not get NEAR the credit they deserve, at least in the communities I know of. In my opinion, the build quality, and the tone blows away the usual big name guitars. I'd off my Martin and Gibson far before I'd get rid of my Yairi's.

@@thomasknapp7236 That's all Awesome man kinda jelly lol. Yah I only have one Alvarez but it was one of the best decisions I've made mainly because it fit my budget and getting solid wood mahogany. Could never afford the Martin I really wanted and still want but once I started waking up to Alvarez my mind was just like WTF. And yes the story, the craftsmanship is incredible and yes not as much clout as they should have, although I think the direction they've been going the last 8 or 10 years has put them ahead in a great way get credit they deserve.. Before I really started figuring out what brand I actually liked. it was always between Martin or Taylor but I quickly realized what I didn't like about Taylor, the pricetags that don't make any sense for what you're getting, plus the over obnoxious brightness they have. The only thing they have is how easy they are to play. All that time though made me fall in love with Alvarez. I'm also digging the new newer bridge style they have so sick looking lol.

Hey guys, I would LOVE to be able to buy the PYM60SB you picked up when you guys gave me the shout out! I'm sure it's a long shot. I don't care about material items very much, but my Alvarez Yairi's are my most prized possessions. Plus it would just be a super cool back story.

They did it right, with a slotted headstock with a slope-shouldered guitar…that’s the way a s shouldered guitar should be built…that and the redwood top. The only thing I don’t like is the aesthetic of the bridge (on most) of Alvarez, but I think I get its purpose. 👍

I just ordered a 2024 MF60 Herringbone! You mentioned that the Yairi got 5mm more depth, did the masterworks get the same? I hope you make a video of the MF60, since there’s not much coverage of the 2024 so far. Thanks for the NAMM coverage, looking forward to more videos!

Hey @JoanAlvarez-Coaching, thanks for your question. The Masterworks are being discontinued, the custom models have replaced them and now include a back bevel and new EQ!
