Incredible how signing too many players and not being able to fit them all into a Champion's League squad can cause any problem at all for a football club.
Says me at Lincoln red imps I released a lot of players in season 1 and signed like 3 we are in the UECL we got so close to winning our 1st match in the league phase we sadly lost 3-2 against a team from Kazakhstan. I can name a full subs bench and register a entire squad for the competition.
The CL squad registration is mental, you leave a guy out because you can't fit him in. In January you have two registration windows, week one leave them out - Apologise - next week, leave them out again 'i have been treated unfairly too many times'
If anything the unrealistic bit is that after pissing off half the squad because of bad man management it just all magically disappears because you sell one player. Would maybe work that way at a top side but not at this level of team.
Stranak is playing what we refer to at Leeds as the Firpo False 3 position. Meant to be playing LB but blink and suddenly he's standing where the striker should be.
Is it really that unrealistic that morale is so important? Part of management is making sure your team wants to play for you, the tactics are important, but the players need to be happy to play their roles, otherwise the tactic wont work as intended
I've had a bit of success talking to the players supporting their team mate by criticising their conduct and saying that it could lead to players losing faith in me. They usually change their attitude. 7 out of 10 times at least. When they moan about being left out of euro squad just tell them unfortunately someone has to be left out. That works too. Stop with the namby pamby stuff. Let them know their place. Also I change squad status regularly, when they moan I say, lots of competition in that area, or their form hasn't been good recently. That nearly always works. If theyr're still unhappy just play them a bit more. They usually stop moaning after a few games.
