I think the interactive exhibits make the Nintendo museum more legitimate not less so. IMO the best way to communicate the history of a toy company is to let people play with the toys. Creating fake 1980s spaces to play the ball game in is the best way to share the experience of the time and place the game was released. I’m sure there’ll be plaques with release dates and descriptions but learning dates has never been the best way to learn history. Like the giant controllers, besides being a cooperative experience for fun, also draws attention to the evolution of the controllers in both form and function. Miyamoto is obviously also trying to make it as fun as possible for himself, but I think these are the kinds of things that get kids into the history of games.
The Nintendo Museum is better than what people were hoping it would be, because most people expected to see all of Nintendo’s games and consoles behind a glass or playable games at the museum, but instead they got these interactive exhibits with Nintendo’s toys. To make it better, they should just create an app in which guests can tap into each items’ story, that way, it wouldn’t take much space off the shelves and people would get the full context behind each product.
my only problem with the Secret Level thing is that, aside from the really cool names like Pac-Man and MegaMan, most of the "IPs" used feel 1000% like paid advertising. Concord? Crossfire? Honor of Kings? New World? Exodus? Half of that list was a shoulder shrug. But i will show up for Spelunky, fuck yea.
@@PhotonSieve huh, weird how that’s what comes out of your mouth because you didn’t like my reaction to finding out the Disney boys are even weirder than I initially thought. Must be speaking from experience there little buddy.
