Aaron Greenburg states that Banjo is still loved within Microsoft...yet they haven't done anything with the IP in 16 years. Empty words from a soulless company.
When those suits say things like that, I almost always never believe them. It all sounds like PR talk, "I'm a real gamer guys I swear, I'm cool! I played Goldeneye with my friends!"
@@jubei20111 Nintendo put Banjo and Kazooie in smash. All MS did was make a deal with Nintendo. I never said they didn’t do anything with the ports, I said they did the bare minimum.
I feel PS5 owners are having a similar situation to what we Wii U owners had during the era except in reverse, Wii U had excellent first party titles but no third party support, we spent the entire generation trying to validate and justify our purchase, playing shovelware and claiming "look the Wii U has a ton of games" but in the end it didn't matter... PS5 is having the reverse where there's third party support but not much first party and I honestly think this is worse because at least on the Wii U for a while those games were exclusive, to this day several of them are, but on PS5 most games are already available elsewhere and because Sony now release their first party titles to PC it is even worse.
Current day Rare has no interest to make a new Banjo Kazooie game... if they could outsource the game to Playtonic (the original members who worked on those games)... could be something...even if you didn't like Yooka Laylee 3D all that much
Xbox players don't really play platformer... Xbox is more known for the "dudebro shooter", so I highly doubt any studios under MS would make a platformer, at least not in the near future
@@goonerOZZwhich is just another reason xbox is failing. They dont grow. Xbox needs a whole new team like literally anybody in any kind of charge needs top be fired. Idc if it’s 200 people. Replace em because the shit rioght now isnt working. How the fuck has a company like Microsoft not step in at this point?? I don’t get it. There’s a point where you’d think shareholders would see what’s happening and step in
@@Tampafan33 "They don't grow"...have you compared Xbox's library compared to PS's? Xbox has had some great new ips that aren't "dudebro shooters". Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment...PS has remakes/remasters and their good ol' cinematic third person blah blah blah. Just because the console numbers are low doesn't mean they are failing. There is no reason to need a console, it's just an option for Xbox now.
I think most of us would be more than fine with a 10-year span in theory, but having seen the Direct in June, even the simplest games were running awful.
The Switch 2 situation is not getting weirder. There is no Switch 2 situation. Nintendo won't announce it this year. Best case maybe December after shopping season which is very unlikely.
@@G360LIVENintendo has barely ever had a “major” announcement at a TGA. The biggest one was Joker in Smash and that was in 2018. Nintendo is like Rockstar, they can release a random trailer whenever they want and still get eyes on it, they don’t need Geoff’s show.
Just curious to know which franchise they bought are rotting away for no onw to enjoy? All the studios they bought at least recently (activision/bethesda) are releasing on all platforms with the exception of starfield (bethesda worst game in the past 15 year)
@@sanekibeko yeah good answer! Arkane should still be around, forgot about that one! Red fall performance killed the studio… and they didn’t want to make that game. I really enjoyed the og Prey, the opening sequence was awesome. Getting abducted by aliens while the jukebox plays « dont fear the reaper »!
It might not be. There is so much dead space inside the current dock that they might have room for a larger board in it for all that. I would think main concern would be cooling that would possibly expand it.
Its hilarious that Xbots and brain deads actually believe the "Phildo Sphincter is for gamers" its even more hilarious when people think a mid level manager should "stand up to the bosses" of the company LMFAO.. Phildo spouts crap like that because he knows Xbots will believe it.
Then it's time for Microsoft to give it up. If they're not gonna do a thing with the IP and you've got a subset of people on another system wanting more from that thing, it's time to stop holding on greedily to things you'll have no use for and let someone take the reigns and breathe new life into it
True, compare old Nintendo game prices to any Xbox game prices. No one collects for Xbox. We’re post pandemic, post internet and all these other things that have boosted retro prices and they’re still rock bottom…
@@vdpt9911not exactly a good way to judge. Most Xbox games are digitally available and backwards compatible. Not to mention all the remasters. Plus a good portion are available through gamepass. So for most people that's good enough. With old Nintendo games you can really only play them with original cartridges outside of emulation which just isn't as good as actual hardware.
I was a senior is high school when the Switch was announced... I recently turned 26. The Switch is a lich. And to think kids have grown up with this as their first console. Meanwhile, I grew up on the GBA, GCN, N64, and eventually the OG Xbox with games like Megaman, Dragon Quest, Golden Sun, Final Fantasy, Mario 64, MKDD, Pokémon Sapphire, Halo 1, Star Wars The Clone Wars, and so on. There are kids old enough to articulate that BotW was their first game while we're in the same console generation that game released in. Crazy times.
???? What the hell are you complaining about?! I grew up on PSP, PS3/360 and PS4/XBone and now PS5 and a gaming PC. And I STILL went out of my way to buy a switch. It lasted 7 years the EXACT same amount of time as any console.
I wish I had your patience. What’s worse for me is that I played maybe six hours of it and went on to play Astro Bot with my kids, then I played Silent Hill 2…so I definitely could have waited for the physical release.
@@jyonxo I also haven’t played Stellar Blade yet. But once the Nier Automata dlc comes out I’ll get the physical copy and play the whole game for the first time with Eve cosplaying as 2B. I was busy binging the entire FF series when the game came out. I did play the demo though.
@@MyManJFKTV I always wait for physical edition. Only games I bought digital and then physically when it came out was Baldur’s Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2. Alan Wake 2 was my most anticipated game and I just wasn’t expecting a physical copy. Yet my physical copy just got delivered yesterday.
Yes not reviving a niche, dead franchise that was never wildly popular to begin with is being "out of touch." Hope you keep that same energy for all the dead franchises Nintendo and PlayStation refuse to touch.
My Walmart is at 20% capacity for Xbox games. PlayStation games are still 20% PS4 titles. Nintendo switch is the only console that has more than four copies of high profile games and one to two for the lesser popular games.
If the switch 2 is not revealed this month then is not getting revealed this year as i predicted because they are not about to ruin the Switch Holiday sales
I don’t doubt Microsoft’s incompetence. It’s been FIVE years since Banjo came to Smash. You would think they would have a Banjo game to capitalize on that hype, but nope they still use the excuse that they haven’t found the right dev after SIXTEEN years. Even now, you’d think there would at least be a Banjo remake in the works, something safe that requires little creative decision making, but that seems more and more unlikely with every passing year.
Man staring at his t shirt just brings me back to that awesome little square console I remember getting it and analyzing every little detail of it I remember how dense and hefty it was like they packed so much hardware into that little sucker like how cute and smooth the fans were and the reset and power button how they functioned the attention to detail like the button to eject the mini game disk and the little ball bearings that held the disk and the hollow-foil rainbowish sticker that said push” man that thing was properly made the plastic Nintendo uses is very nice I feel like it’s been used on all of there products they truly make great hardware.
But, but, But, "gamers" can only enjoy games that are 40,000k, 6500fps with nude mods, 4000k textures. The games they "love" so much just aren't good if they're expected to play them as "intended"
They haven't had ANY games this gen. IF you remove the studios/publishers Microsoft purchased they only games they have released this gen are a couple of Forza games and Halo Infinite. Everything else they've released where third party games being worked on that when they were desperate for WelfarePass content got thrown out to the service. YET smooth brains cry that Sony hasn't released any games this gen LMFAO
@@ahmedhasan4966 I’m going to have my child draw what he thinks a switch 2 will look like and next thing you know I’ll probably see it in a spawnwave video under the title “NEW SWITCH 2 LEAK”
Aaron Greenberg... benefit of the doubt.... On what planet do we live on ... this guy is a notorious liar. Same for Jim Ryan, Phil Spencer, Todd Howard and all these clowns.
None of them play the games they speak of. Some might have genuine memories, some might cite a tidbit we can all relate to, but it's all lost now they're in the corporate setting. PR talk is abundant and those clowns are all guilty of masking problems and evading questions. It's all fluff
Whether by choice or position requirements, they double as salesmen essentially. Of course they’ll throw anything out there to give the company as much goodwill as possible, because that’ll ostenisbly transfer to more sales.
When I say there are no games, I mean games that give me a reason to play them on PS5 instead of the PC where they look and play better or the Switch where they're more convenient to play most of the time. I mean games like Ratchet and Clank or Astro Bot not third-party stuff that's available everywhere.
A spooky game with a big Halloween Discount: Pumpkin Jack A 3D Platformer that doesn't look like much but is better than you would expect. The Movement just feels right.
I wonder where all those people are who said switch successor would be shown off in September and release in December, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo shows it off in the February direct and releases it holiday 2025.
This just proves how far removed Xbox is from their own customer base. I am certain people would buy a new Banjo in droves! Just make a good Banjo game that respects the originals and not something like Nuts and Bolts.
Did you watch the video or not? Because Xbox literally denied claims that Greenberg said no one cares about Banjo. You're clearly far removed from media literacy.
I don't think Nintendo will announce the switch 2 this year because it will hurt current Switch sales. I myself am waiting to hear because I want to buy a second switch. I won't buy a second switch if they announce the switch 2 for early next year.
With these drawing just means sooner or later we going to get blurry photos of the system. So Nintendo better show it soon before it leaks and the wow factor will be lost. 😅😂
I mean OK that goes hard, but TBH watching a Busta Rhymes music video on mute while listening to the Rusty Bucket Bay music probably goes a little harder.
To tell the truth I'm not a fan of Banjo-Kazooie, it started this specific genre of collectathons where all you do is wander around picking up stuff, there's no sense of fulfilness like in Mario 64, getting booted off the level gives me a sense of accomplishment that I have cleared an obstacle course and this is my reward, in Banjo it feels more like a chore, oh just pick up the garbage, also the level design does not appeal to me and there's way too much back tracking, way too much shit to collect, not for me.
people forget Switch/NX had a March 2017 release window months before the Switch revealed in late 2016 so that announcement for next gen before the end of the fiscal year might not be a reveal but just a release window
It’s gonna be a reveal. They don’t have anything set up for the first half of next year. If they don’t plan to release til 2026. Next year is gonna be pretty barren
Hey, remember in June, when the Switch wasn't having any games anymore, until the Direct just gave us a new Zelda, Mario Party and Mario&Luigi? Please remember, that Nintendo seems to prefer shorter hypecycles in comparison to Sony and Microsoft.
@@LG555 yes but they usually have a September direct to set up. Yet there was none this year. Means there must not be a substantial amount for next year
These folks need to stop with the switch 2 sketches. Because it's making everybody anxious and confused. They will announce it when they announce it people!
@@MelRetro why do you care about 4k? It just means games become studio killing expensive to make. 1080p with a solid 60fps no matter the game would be far better.
I do think Nate can be full of it at times. However the Switch Pro was real and internally canceled due to supply issues and delays. It's why we got the OLED model instead.
As we've seen on PC, an all-digital future can work. What everyone will eventually regret is not fighting for consumer rights concerning our digital purchases.
Yeah NO, sorry not sorry....Not everyone is a hoarder or a poor, the majority of people don't expect their games to continue to work and be playable 40 years in the future. The majority also don't feel the need or obligation to play every game that comes out, adults can decide something doesn't look interesting and doesn't need to play it to know it. Every licensed PS4 game that has been delisted I can still download any time I feel like it and I've done it zero times, I still have my PS3 and all my games downloaded onto it and have played it zero times since 2017. The majority of people don't feel the need to have every game ever made at their fingertips any time they might feel the need.
New kickstand design means that you can carry the switch 2 with a handle. This would bring back a feature that has been missing in gaming since the GameCube.
Considering the many issues we've had in recent times with marketing directors or developers saying " nobody is interested in X", I wouldn't utter those words even in sarcasm.
Yes, the sad thing about the switch being eight years old is that you can’t buy any more games because now you have to convince yourself to go back and replay the games you already played. With a different character and difficult mode is the closest that you will get to a new switch.2
Very happy about the *physical disc* version of Black Myth Wukong. I STILL didn't play it BECAUSE I was waiting for the physical disc edition and now I'm also hopeful that it will get some *PS5 Pro enhancements* once that console is available.
The comment of the day was VERY accurate. We have more releases now than ever in the history of gaming. Just think if any new system tried to pull an N64 launch today, they would get laughed out of the industry. In the current economic climate, I just wait for games to get super cheap to buy them and I've got a backlog that I will probably not finish for a few years.
I grew up with platformers like Banjo Kazooie, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, The Super Mario games as well as many l, many others in the 90's when I was a teenager I would definitely love a comeback for Banjo Kazooie or remaster some of the older games in HD, I think it will bring in a lot of new comers as well as seasoned players of the franchise.
But we already had remasters for Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie on Xbox 360. And even with the Xbox 360 store officially gone, they're still alvailable via Rare Replay.
@@TheArceusftw Oh yes definitely we did, I remember them, but maybe on more current hardware or on Nintendo's next system, like they did with the Crash Bandicoot trilogy remasters and the Spyro Remasters but more for modern hardware.
@@TheArceusftwactual remakes. Not just ports with a widescreen. Actual updated, from the ground up like Crash and Spyro. They've got the money and resources. No excuses
@@MikeSandersonVideos Yes absolutely, no ports or HD remasters, just straight up build them for modern hardware from scratch in terms of visuals but it be exactly like the original in tone and feel, also maybe if some of the original games are a bit janky with their mechanics modernize the game controls a bit.
I’m going back through N&B. I definitely get the hate with the shift in gameplay, but idk I just have the minecraft-lego autism that allows me to enjoy it independently of the IP
Imagine how crazy it would be if someone says there are no games on steam because valve isn't making anything. That's how the conversation around playstation sounds to me
having a more substantial dock would be great, especially for wired controllers. I always wanted a doctor before USB ports in the front and four gamecube controller ports
I have to laugh. That hand drawn sketch of the switch 2 reminds me of when Tom Brady was in court for deflate gate and the court sketch artist drew that terrible picture of him.
Remember when Nintendo had directs and RU-vidrs and social media would hype them up to such an astronomical level, that Nintendo had to start issuing statements to temper people's expectations. That's the switch 2 now.
Banjo Kazooie definitely has a place in the market. We need more 3D platformers in general. Mario is definitely the best but they come out so rarely that I do wish more would come to fill in that gap. I know I can’t be the only one that would love more 3D platformers to come out.
I feel like the way nintendo will start doing game sales is by doing the digital release first and physical release 3 months later. To help avoid so many leaks this early on
As a Banjo kazooie fan I feel like the easiest thing that Microsoft could do is to reach out to a good platform developer. I hear right now the Sonic mania team is currently struggling and have them remake entirely in classic banjo 3D Banjo-Kazooie gruntilda's revenge for GBA. It's great because it's a remake of a great game that was limited due to the hardware that it was on and so they don't have to come up with something completely new but by remaking it From isometric Sprite 3D to full-on political little 3D with today's graphics, it would be very much worth it to play again and would reintroduce the characters to the modern day audience.
Man, Imagine if these companies just kept everything off servers that public people to apparently easily access. No wonder, they don't use voice chat and proper friends lists....They haven't contacted NordVPN yet.
Wow I started watching spawn wave almost 8 years ago November. Super metal Dave did a video mentioning spawn wave to bring us over here. And have enjoyed ever since.
Microsoft’s sales expectations for a new Banjo game and gamers expectations for sales are completely different. Gamers may say “wow this game hit a million copies”. Microsoft would say “wow this game only hit a million copies, time for layoffs”.
The thing is Banjo always did well on the n64. Both games did incredibly well. And have aged well and are still loved by many. The issue with banjo was the misstep in "trying something new" with nuts and bolts. I've read a lot of developer interviews and making ofs for why they went the route they chose. But if they learn from that mistake and pivot back slightly and stay in line with something closer to mario odyssey I think theyd do amazing.
Heartstone, Legends of Runeterra, MTG Arena. These have already existed. The difference is, that unlike NFTs, the art on these cards are done by humans instead of an algorithm and are not artificially limited. With TCG pocket, we will have to see, how generous it will be with packs.
Yeah those are two different things so it makes sense that they're treated differently. I play a paper TCG and the fact that digital TCGs have no value is a huge upside because it means that nobody tries to treat them like investments, which makes card games very expensive.
Nintendo has said that the switch successor will be revealed sometime during this fiscal year (April 1st, 2024, at earliest and march 31st 2025, at the latest) Also, I guarantee you that when the switch 2 launches, there will already be switch 2 pro rumors.
Everyone always forgets about Double Fine when the Banjo developer discussion comes up. I'd love for them to develop it, Psychonauts 2 is easily one of my all time favorite 3d platformers and it proves they know a lot about mixing level design in with the story to make for a really fun world to jump around.
June 2022 they said no on Twitter, want to work on their own IP. Not impossible but I’d give it at least another 5 years if even they’re not touching it.
