A suite of unreleased music from the Series One finale - Bad Wolf and The Parting of the Ways.
I've always thought Series One is criminally underrepresented as far as released music goes, with only a few original tracks featuring on the Series One/Two Soundtrack release (most were rerecorded). Some of the tracks featured in this suite that were rerecorded on that soundtrack are Hologram, Rose in Peril, New Adventures, and I'm Coming to Get You.
It's frankly one of my favourite scores of any series. Even though it used sampled instruments rather than a live orchestra (or perhaps because of that) it ended up being incredibly atmospheric and evocative. It also feels the most 'Doctor Who' of any of the scores (lots of electronic and synth stuff popping up all over the place), effectively bridging the gap between the Keff stuff of the late 80s and the Who reboot.

So much of all this was just right back in the day, the look of it, the sounds, score, and the down to earth script, it was just perfect. As the viewer you were certainly the second companion mending this broken Doctor.

Davies made pure magic rebooting the show with this series. The cast, music, script, cinematography, characters, themes, worldbuilding, everything was on point. Very easy to see how this series springboarded such a cultural phenomenon of a revival.

Fraid not, the BBC (British Branwashing Cunts) aren't the best when it comes to releasing the soundtracks of their shows, so this is nowhere to be found 'officially'.

12:00 Now that is just pure harmonic nostalgia. The quiet voice with the instruments is so satisfying as the vortex energy is taken out of Rose, and the music really kicks off when The Doctor sends the energy back into The Tardis.

I just realised that 3:48 is a variation on the recurring action music from Impossible Planet/Satan Pit in Series 2! And I also just realised how common the 'Dalek synths' were used in the episode music even before they made an appearance! Makes the soundtrack very creepy.

12:01 always made me feel somewhat sad and happy at the same time. I love Eccleston's music in Doctor Who because it brought in something bigger to the show and I rate Eccleston as my 3rd favourite because of the post war drama he put into his character, which is something earlier episodes haven't shown before.

this is the best unreleased video that I have found by far because all the others I ever found had background voices but this doesn't and I gotta say great stuff

I know it’s weird, but I think all of Doctor Who’s current score would be better if it wasn’t performed by orchestra but like this.

Actually, the score for Series 1 was all samples and synthesizers, Murray didn't get the Orchestra of Wales to perform his music (or Ben Foster arranging his compositions for Orchestras) until about Series 2. At least, as far as I can remember.

It's a variation on Westminster Bridge! But I would totally agree - I know it reappeared again with Tennant but I firmly associate Westminster Bridge with the Ninth Doctor.

The nostalgia is strong with this one I was 8 when this came out, 2005 the year I fell in love with Doctor Who, pure magic from Russell T Davies, with Christopher Eccleston as the 9th Doctor I felt safe

I think that Series One was the best in terms of score! I feel that the music in the NewNew-Who is just generic orchestral music where as in Series One and the first half of Series Two the music sounded more like Doctor Who in my opinion! I love the fast paced drums, it makes it sound so early 2000s and electronic!

I can agree with the series 5 - present music being too generic, but I think series 3 and 4 still had great music. They need to bring back older themes that represented characters (for example, the Dalek theme) more or Murray needs to write themes that are repeated and recognisable.

That's what I meant by "NewNew Who". I call the Moffat Era the "NewNew Who". Also I can't stand that "I am the Doctor" tune, It's over played.

TheHC09 I particularly love ‘The Master Vainglorious’ and ‘Martha’s Quest’ themes. The early series of modern Doctor Who will always hold a special place in my heart, especially because I was only 10 years old in 2005. I remember coming into the house after playing with my friends on a bright sunny day in 2005 and being told by my mother that there is a new show about to be shown on BBC One and, immediately, I sat down to watch Doctor Who and “why not. After all, that’s how it all started”. Episode One ‘Rose’, by Russell T. Davies.
