When the Nihonsei/Japanese took over the '80s Transformers cartoon as well as the toy manufacturing, they made a little customized fire truck that was sold in 1988 as Seiberturon Kabu/Cab (or Autobot Hosehead in the US). I've been trying to ID what real world truck is was probably based on, but it has been hard because they molded a ton of extra bits on, to up the coolness factor. But this vid was a lot of fun. Still not sure, but it would be easy to imagine this fire truck turning into a little Autobot that could. Turansuform! 😂
Hey I just grabbed a non fire truck model. Are you sure the radio is 24v? I have a copy of the manual and it says the models with cassette are 24v but models without are 12v. I can send you a copy of the manual if you want. What's a good way to contact you that isn't RU-vid?
The throttle control is for initial start up, especially when it is cold climate, allows you to increase idle manually, then lower once it has warmed up
Hey man, this truck is not JDM only. It was also built in Spain for Spanish and European Market as Nissan Cabstar. And I think probably in othe countries as well. Anyway good truck and good video m8!
What's a fair price for one of these? I see there is another one in Washington state. 20k miles. 4wd. It still has all the original fire pump equipment.
Just saw your Atlas in town on front St! What a sweet rig! Ive been trying so hard to convince the wife to get on board and then we literally pass your Atlas on our way home as we're talking about our options. Such a perfect combo with utility, passenger capacity and overall size. Man I really want one.
Thank you for the video! What?! No John Wayne-Rio Pecos raw hide leather interior option available? Good old Chicken Tax keeps new trucks like this out of the USA.
Although the parts will need to be imported It is a INSANELY low mileage td27 and as everyone here in trinidad and tobago like to call it it is the iron donkey of engines change your oil every once in a while and you good that thing going to run forever (of course unless you do some madness) XDD also the td27 was produced for a very very long time so parts really arent that hard to get the majority can be found on ebay there are also 24v to 12v step down converters (which it seems there would be one installed already) which in that case you can add a switch to act as the acc wire on the radio or add a 24v relay or you can get a step down converter with the acc wire i don't understand how your atlas is 24v because i had one like that and i believe it was 12v, well it was a cabstar (uk model, td25) so that may be why i have a 2015 atlas now tho and it is 12v
i believe the little attachment on your fan is for pens and note pads, two pens and a the hook allowed documents to hang as well as any quick grab items needed for business use.
Heading up to look at JDM other Nissan Atlas firetruck. Out of curiosity, how has your truck been since you bought it? At what RPM does your truck idle at when warm? Can you give me any advice on buying one from JDM Imports?
Truck has been great overall. No idea on RPM's since it doesn't have a tachometer, lol, but mine also has an idle adjustment knob so it idles wherever input it so it doesn't rattle too much at red lights. And I bought mine private sale; the guy I got it from bought it from JDM but I've only heard good things.
I wish there was a database for usdm parts compatibility, I'm sure some stuff is just common, but the real issue is most parts sellers start with VIN numbers... so these don't pop up at the dealership. But there's a few places online that you can order from and they do use the Japanese VINs to search.
That's an outstanding vehicle! I saw you at jhonsons the other day and noticed the sticker and thought to myself "I bet youtube personalities have strangers bother them all the time and they probably hate it and think it's hella rude." Which, I guess shows how bad I can be at guessing what people want🤔 I'm currently working on rebuilding a Trek 820, the frame of which I found mostly stripped behind the Fred Meyer across the street from the parkinglot I spotted you in. The SR Sun fork (M2025) was as simple as it gets to rebuild. Frozen and requiring hammers to unfreeze, but simple and straightforward. I'll keep an eye out for you and say hi, I spot you downtown once in a while.
Almost 2 years! Still great, but there's a 2nd car in my future. One with A/C, power windows, way more power and way less weight. In my head I have plans to make this more off-road capable, but it's gonna be a while.
Great video I recently bought a 1990 Nissan Atlas 4dr, it is not a fire truck though, it's blue but it has A/C Thanks for the tip on the 4runner wheels, I'm looking to upgrade mine Happy New Year!
Belts lock, except for the middle rear lap belt. My kids are old enough for booster seats so the shoulder part of the belt just loopes through the booster.
Thanks! I bought a 1995 atlas fire truck last week, very similar to yours, 10,800km!! I’m loving it, and have 1-2” over top of my head to headliner, and ample leg room.
Before it was modified for fire truck use it was 63x82 inside the bed, it's much smaller now. You can find these just as work trucks with a normal bed out there... I bet it "could" handle a 2000lb camper but you're not getting up any hills at any rate of speed; this one tops out at 45mph on most true long inclines as is at 5400lbs. You'd probably have to beef up the suspension as well.
@@ButterSuspension Hey thanks for answering! I understand you can change the gearing to increase the speed a little too I guess Would make a great camper !
I’ve got the ‘95 Nissan Atlas 4x4 in the Campervan version here in New Zealand. I’ve got the same issue with the 15.5” wheels and no tyres available. Any advice with sizing on suitable replacement rims and tyres would be much appreciated. Regards from NZ. Paul
