When we (birmingham) went to wembley many commentators said we were the noisest fans they'd heard, so it proves the big teams with the big support, united, l'pool, chelsea etc.. dont really have the passion like pompey+blues and others even if we lack there big support which is mainly tourists anyway. always liked pompey

Palace fan here , i lived in Sussex and used to go to Pompey occasionally when I didn't fancy the haul up to selhurst . I can honestly say I have a huge soft spot for them. Loud, proud, and loyal fans to a man . And they don't like Brighton either , so I have a bit of love for the Pompey crowd .
The reason we don't like Brighton is because back when we were in the Prem they kept slagging us off saying shit like we don't deserve to be in the Prem and the South Coast Derby 1 of the most passionate derbies in England against Southampton some pompey fans hate Brighton more than scumhampton like me and my dad

I loved the moment spurs tried to give it one last song as they were an embarrassment all day. Still one of the best football moments of my life as a pompey fan after the season we had to endure.. Still gives me goosebumps, still makes me emotional! PUP!
It's funny the loudest atmospheres always come from the least expected places, Portmouth are great fans but normally they lack numbers, not a massive club but massive to the fans, this showed when they show up in numbers they could be just as loud as anyone. Other set of fans that are unbelievable when they turn up are Charlton, Southampton, Stoke (on a good day), Sunderland, Sheffield United, even some clubs like Fulham, Wigan, Bolton, Blackburn and Burnley are quite loud when they turn up in numbers, though you only see that once every 5-10 years. Some of the lesser known fan bases are so much better than the larger more well known ones, they just have less fans but fan for fan, they generate way more noise. Too many snobs at the big clubs, it's a working class game and always will be. Something else I want to say is that as fans we need to learn from what has happened to the likes of Portsmouth, football is not just a game and our clubs are not just businesses, nobody should be able to single-handedly destroy clubs nor should the FA be able to all but relegate our clubs and put them in administration and liquidation, we need to unite and look out for one and other and say "no that isn't right, it's ruining the game." If it was Man Utd or Liverpool, the FA would do something about it, but it never is so they don't.

Gaydamak was funding the club at the time. The trouble started when he wanted to pull out, and then a string of unsavoury people got involved and fraudulently took money out of the club. Please do not blame the players or fans for the mess. Looking forward to the fans' buyout and to seeing the club being run within its means. I've donated my £1000.00 Up the PST.
