Best review of this bag. Period! No others mention the ridiculous design of the two front pockets. I wish I saw this review before, I bought it. People….trust this guy! It’s very strange how they designed the top pocket, where most of the room is ABOVE the zipper. No big deal if you lay down the bag on its back panel and put stuff in of course. But still very strange they didn’t put the zipper on top. The admin pocket. Jesus Christ….what a weird thing. If you put stuff in there with a bit of weight (like snacks, AirPods, keys etc), then the bag tips over…..of course. Because of the big lump it’s gonna make it pull it over. That is….the opposite way of the back panel. I can deal with the looks of it, like this guy shows here. It looks weird, but I’m fine with that. The fact that it can’t stand on its bottom stabil, is annoying….very annoying. The bottle holders are okay. They are sturdy…no doubt. But the straps are not very good. I have to stuff the pocket with a bottle and an umbrella on one side and pull the strap as hard as possible and fixate it with a carabiner to make the stuff in the pocket fell like it’s gonna stay there. Yes….my bottle is big. Not the biggest of course, but almost 1 liter. I really don’t get this design. I don’t get the designer of this bag. How is it that so many of these people can’t come up with the “perfect” bag? The big room is fast to “shrink”, when using the bottle holders. Positive stuff: The material is awesome. The laptop compartment is great. The straps on the front is okay. I would prefer a mesh, but that’s just my preference. The straps are good. All in all….don’t buy this bag. It’s way too expensive for its brain fart design.
I would recommend the Osprey Nebula 32, the Fjallraven Raven 28, or stepping up to the 40 liter North Face Router, although the Router has many of the same quirks as the Borealis, including a somehow even more “above the zipper” design of the sunglasses pocket.
Hi, I'm currently looking at getting one of these bags as I had the old Borealis with the mesh bottle holders which after 3 years ripped and my bottle fell through. Regarding this backpacks bottle holders is there no bottom? Surely bottles will simply fall straight through?
@@cameronjohnagnewThe bottle holders have a bottom. They are very large and loose though. You can pinch them a touch tighter with the bungees, but they’re still a bit loose.
You actually loaded it wrong...towel on the bottom, clothes on the top...this 28L pack is better used fuller, which is why it holds more than you have here. The straps attachment are actually seat belt nylon. You can actually pack enough for a weekend trip. Thorough review though...! By the way I have the Raven 28 and the Nebula...I prefer the Borealis...the Raven is nice but over organized, bottle pockets tight. Nebula 32 is uncomfortable, the back fabric ripped when it was snagged on a chair, won't ever stand up (a must for me) feels cheaper and is too big and bulky for EDC.
Yeah, that one cracked me up. Some competitor must have a very “outside of the box” strategy paying some dude with 14 subscribers to make an unrehearsed, unedited video of a competitor’s product in his basement with heating ducts in the background.
