Thanks, the isolation is fantastic up there and you feel like you're really leaving the rat race behind.

Excellent video Duncan. I've been up a lot of those fells but not all in one big hike! 🙂🙂Recovering from knee surgery in 2023 then back out on the trails at back end of the year. Keep up the good work!

Thanks, it is indeed a gorgeous place but like everywhere else in the Pennines distances are so visually deceiving, hope you recover soon and start to enjoy the fells again 🙂

Great video. Love the combination of insightful commentary and poignant music. I walked across fell yesterday the Pennies certainly have character.

Thanks, it is an area full of character and solitude, all I do is record what nature has already provided, which is impressive in the North Pennines 😊

The remotest place I've ever been up there on the pennines . I couldn't help but pick up bits of flourite from the little streams , think it was flourite anyway, it sparkled in the shallow water and lots of lead ore on the paths that looked like silver , my bag weighed a ton be the time I got back to car
@DuncanBaxter

It's so tempting to pick it up and before you know it you have a bag full which really weighs you down, made that mistake many times 😉

Thanks, love it up there and had gorgeous weather as well. The hat has a mind of its own, the ear flaps can never stay in one place 😅

Beautifully put together Duncan. For the sheer effort you expend in creating the variety of shots you do, you deserve many more views, but in addition to that the film flows, music is very well used and your company in them is champion!

Thank you very much for those kind words, it is a fair amount of effort putting my videos together (shooting/editing/scoring etc) plus holding down a full time job means I can only release one every 3 weeks. However when I receive positive comments like yours it is all worthwhile. Sure the views will increase eventually, have many more ideas in the pipeline...🖒

@@DuncanBaxter The care you take is so obvious Duncan; I wanted to provide some feedback so that you know it is noticed and appreciated. Your ethos of only posting when you have the time to make it good is very refreshing too! I did a 24 mile challenge walk yesterday and the thought of stopping to set up and then walk towards/from the camera (and collecting it) whilst on the walk makes me shudder 😁.

The temptation towards the end of a hike to start walking and just leave all the gear behind is real, remembering to have to walk back uphill can be a real pain! 😅 It is worth it in the end though, glad you enjoy them.

A fantastic mountain adventure there Duncan. The scenes and route so very well captured in your video. Excellent watch from the start to the end. Thank you for sharing your story. I'm thinking of visiting Cross fell from Knock maybe. Cheers, Warren :)

you started off at gatehead to be exact, weve done that trail loads of times to cross fell.

Thanks for the heads up on that, I will mention it in future videos. I must admit I get more favourable feedback when instead of using 'Pennine Way' and 'Black Band' etc I use 'The Old Corpse Road', it definitely sticks in their heads more.

Hi Duncan, I really enjoyed your video. I’ve walked only a bit of the start of the Pennine Way but hope to resume when all this lockdown trouble is behind us. Thanks for making this lovely film.

Hi Duncan,I’m new to your channel and I’m thoroughly enjoying your vids in the North Pennines being from the North East myself but living in the Yorkshire Dales National Park it’s good to see back home, one question could you possibly but the miles you walk on the end of your vids to give an idea what I’m in for as I intend to come up and walk some of your routes. Hello Duncan, wonderful video! It actually inspired me to hike from Garrigill to Cross fell and back yesterday (1st June) with my 13 years old boy who was astonished at the sheer beauty of the North Pennines. Having now been there I really appreciate the detail in your video, great work thanks! Would love to see you do a video around High Cup Nick?

Thanks, have just subscribed to your channel, notice you seem to be centred around the Ribblesdale/Hawes area, remember doing the 3 peaks challenge about 3 years ago with work, definitely an experience I won't forget. One day I will venture into the Yorkshire dales to video (I find Wharfedale and Wensleydale particularly beautiful), will be watching your channel with interest, atb.

@@DuncanBaxter thank you for your support and comment, I do spend alot of time in the Dale's but plan to slowly cast my net further. The Yorkshire 3 peaks is a very tough walk that I will not be doing again for a very long time, I prefer to enjoy those mountains instead of conquer them. Stay safe Stu.
