Visit the most northerly point of the contiguous United States, the Northwest Angle of Minnesota. The origin of this vast landscape can be traced back to 1783 at the signing of the Treaty of Paris. Today the region includes resorts, the last one-room schoolhouse in the state, and a lifestyle created around the Lake of the Woods where people enjoy fishing, camping, snowmobiling and exploring this precious land.
About the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund
In 2008, Minnesota voters passed a landmark piece of legislation - the Minnesota Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment - which provided funding to public television stations serving audiences in Minnesota. Its mission is to help preserve and document the treasures of culture, history, and heritage that make Minnesota special, and to increase access to the natural and cultural resources we all share.

We just drove up there on the NWA Ice Road and it ranked as one the BEST Minnesota experiences ever. Super happy to say "I was there!"

I stayed a week there in 2005. It was in June I believe....it was the best smallmouth fishing on planet earth. We caught well over a 100 a day. Also caught walleye and was treated to shore lunch daily. Our guides name was Mike..... awesome guy🐟🐟🐟

I just got back from there today (June 29th, 2021). I stayed at Angle Outpost, and it broke my heart that we were the only guests there until July 7th. The Government of the US and Canada have got to work this out, or this unique place will die, and hard working people will suffer greatly. Also, if Jason and Lisa see this, your kids really did a good job on our trip. filling up the boat gas and checking us out.

I could disagree. It’s to cold here for me . Water isn’t really so clear . Like I want it to be. And so on.

I live down hear in Lake George, near Itasca State Park. I’ve lived in Minnesota about 36 years and the beauty still amazes me !!! When my kids were young I used to say to them as we curved around lakes and tall pines on our drive to town, “look at that, you have no idea how beautiful your view is”. They kind of took it for granted, after all they seen that view everyday on the bus and even just a short walk from our house were 2 lakes side by side. I would explain to them how it was a big deal for me to see a lake when I was growing up in Oklahoma, I wanted them to really see and appreciate the beauty they are fortunate enough to live in !!!! It’s great, I have vacation land in my own back yard 😍

I remember Jim’s corner. Grew up on the Rez across the lake and when the borders tightened up things got awkward. Especially going to Kenora. “How long will you be in the states?” “Twenty minutes” Perplexed silence. It was even funnier in the reverse when we’d only be there staying in the states for five minutes to get across the inlet.

😂😂😂 true fisherman’s words. “Don’t go there. Ain’t no fish” You go there every week. 😂😂😂 there are some places in Kentucky little known that I’ve found videos on where I just blasted how bad it was. 😂 I left out the sarcastic wink on my post though.

"It's the only piece of the United States that's north of the 49th parallel." Should really emphasize "contiguous United States" as all of Alaska is north of the 49th parallel.
