Cooking Simulator is back with the Cakes and Cookies DLC, which gives us the chance to do some baking! Bread, cookies, cakes, muffins and all sorts of other baked goods! Which of course means we're going to take part in...
The Not So Great British Bake Off!
We partake in three classic Bake Off challenges; the Signature Challenge, the Technical Challenge and the Showstopper Challenge!
There's a whole new kitchen to work in, new tools to use and new foods to prepare. Can we bake up some amazing goodies, given that I have hardly any baking skills and every time I've tried to bake it's gone horribly, horribly wrong?

@@TheGeekCupboard Hooks are used to evenly fold the dough in the bowl for even distribution of ingredients and to create the strength/develop gluten in the dough.

@@TheGeekCupboard I think your measurements were spot on, since there were no recipes to begin with, so the amount to add of each ingredient was simply "whatever feels right" and you always added exactly that.

It was relatively simple. Square, white, with a little marzipan Mrs Penge and a little marzipan Mr Penge on the top with a Las Vegas sign. Because we got married in Vegas! This was at the party at home in the UK, we didn't have a cake in Vegas.

@@TheGeekCupboard Well... when I crave cake, I don't generally crave bacon. You see... cake is a sweet treat while bacon is breakfast for me. And wedding cake is actually more of a carrot cake... to me.

you have to activate yeast in warm water seperately, and let the dough rise. You made yeast flavored hard tack, not bread

Oh and hard tack, is basically a large lump of flour formed like English biscuits, as a sort of horrible bubble free bit of cooked flour, and I'm unable to describe how bad it would be politely, I'm not qualified to be a British bake off judge, I don't have their tact. 😊

Number 1 rule of baking: You can always add ingredients but you can't take away. You need self-raising flour for bread not pastry flour.

I'm not sure there was self-raising flour, to be honest. Just... some flour. Remember that this is a game where cakes cook in minutes and other things happen by magic, so don't take it too seriously!

oh my goodness Penge! while I myself am not a baker, even I know that you don't use yeast in muffins and that you need a batter for cake, not a dough lol this was so entertaining to watch but also a bit painful. still, I'd love to see you play more of this DLC and actually follow the recipe. just remind me to never eat anything you've baked in real life. 😅

Bacon?! In a wedding cake?! Are you mad? Wedding cakes, or any cakes, are supposed to be sweet. It's supposed to have chocolate or fruit or nice things that belong in a cake, bacon goes in breakfast or a pie. The two are not supposed to mix. I would not ask you to make me any cakes.
