@Jarrel Ely I gotta give it to BIG. The thing to BIG was he wasn't the greatest lyricist but some how nobody out rapped him. He was the rawest rapper of his time. Supremely unpolished and rugged. Keith was rugged like that too. Some rappers are so polished they can't even freestyle. But with the pen they're amazing. BIG murdered Eminem on Dead Wrong and that's just wrong, he was dead. That wasn't supposed to happen. Hardcore ruggedness overtook smooth well crafted lyricism.
Jarrel Ely damn that’s a tough one. Jaz-O been spittin even before Biggie came on. He’s a seasoned vet who had that flow on lock (he was Jay-Z’s mentor). Biggie couldn’t catch Jaz with that machine gun flow, but he had a deadly combination of exceptional wordplay, funny yet twisted humor and a deadly delivery style. Once again, that’s like apples and oranges, can’t compare them. You’re going like one or the other.
with respect and being realistic... no one has come close to BIG yet not even a little. Anybody can even represent him in the rap industry. Big was the best is the best and simply just had a superb voice which you wanna hear. Also his appearance makes it way more of a thrill to listen to his stuff.
Jay came hard as usual but one thing to keep in mind for those saying he came harder than Biggie, Jay rhymes were from the present day when this came out, Biggie rhymes were from ‘97 prior

@mattyamweelo6027 He saying biggies verses were from the 90s, while Jay Z verse was from 06 or whenever the song came out. basically saying how lyricists evolve. A rapper from today like Cole or lupe will have an evolved sound compared to a rapper from the 80s.
