To be honest, the graphic design isn't very clear on what the next available step is. Ideally, you'd want the next step to be outlined in a darker shade of black. As it stands, it's kinda hard to differentiate at a glance and it's easy to miss.

@@LinoWalker That's fair, it probably should be changed. Making the mistake once is understandable. Twice though... that's still pretty funny.

Agreed. My favorite track is the final boss one. It's so epic.. when I managed to reach The Eye of the Storm for the first time, and it kicked in, man - I felt like I was in a movie doing a final epic showdown.

It's giving you that slight adrenaline rush after a brainstorm session, always makes me a little nervous if a strategy would pull off as well as it did in my head.

Like an effective version of those mobile game ads.

Outside of basic mistakes (mostly just from this being a new game to him) he played really well this run. Picking armor for your tank hero is a good call, and once he had an armor card he wasn't afraid to keep picking armor synergy and taking advantage of it. If he didn't completely use the wrong card in his final turn, this run had a good thing going.

After the game broke me 20 hours in I was just watching this video pointing out the misplays to myself out loud

What I find funny is when I watch these videos, I keep seeing these misplays and am like arrgh you should've done this or that - but when I'm in the saddle (i.e. playing) I pretty much make the same mistakes also. Almost makes me wanna get a backseat gamer to coach me/back me up/be a voice of reason so we can both together analyze and have the other person point out my potential misplays xD

it's a good game. A deckbuilder where it's hard to beat the story mode is rare. Just got my first win after like 30 tries with a poison build.

Hahah yeah I thought.. why use him, your leader can tank for a while and smackback setting up chompmon to do downright insane damage, and save up chompmon to smacback the bosses.

I think in the moment he literally just forgot chompoms damage was tied to his armour

Him messing up is still very funny

For those playing along at home, I literally won my first run as soon as I knew this piece of information haha

Another great boost to my strategies was learning that you can actually unequip your crowns and move them around, inclusind putting them on items (regular cards).

I also would love that but the game doesn't have enough content to sustain that much gameplay. It's a great game and I recommend it but there really isn't a ton to explore.

Sap is a pvp roguelike. So is Fortnite.

Honestly I feel like its more strategy than deck builder when comparing it to for example Slay the Spire. Obviously still has deck builder elements, but you don't make that many changes to your deck.

Hahah in one run I was legit thinking where to put the teeth charm on.. my instincts were to put it on my leader, but then I thought wait..... if I do that and win.. how on earth will I be able to kill him when he ascends?

@@PhantomThiefXI Yeah the thing is, after the first win, you really gotta think about which strategy now *counters* your previous one. Some people dislike this - since it can make subsequent runs harder, but I think it's interesting because you're facing a unique final encounter each time - plus it discourages you from using same build/strategy over and over (2 leaders with smackback would smack back each other into infinity until one of them falls)

He played the wrong card. He mentioned his mistake directly after. It's hard to backseat this game without knowing all the mechanics that are not obvious. If he used the right card, Snoofy would've slowed the boss, delayed it by one turn. It also would've reduced the counter for Chompon by 1, allowing it to get faster to his turn to hit. So it was the better play. Nothing to get tilted about other than selecting the wrong card

The hero would not get hit if the boss was snowed which is what he thought he was doing but used the wrong card

The game isn't difficult because it's unfair - but rather because we humans don't manage to grasp all of its mechanics and strategize properly - leading to our own doom.
