I've been playing and singin with this amp for a few months now. It's clearly underevaluated. The sound both for guitar and voice is top level. I have the fender acoustic 100 as well, bigger, a little bit more powerfull but but for me there is no possible comparison : the nux is a lot more precise. Plus the effects are stunning, plus the looper and drum machine and 100 euros less extensive. Bonus : if you love to play and sing reggae dub it's just incredible. Cause you can record loops and have an incredible fun playing with the app on your voice with the excellent analog delay emulation... try it, it's really Amazing. The only bad point : some bugs with the app and it's a pitty that the line out is in mono. Edit : been busking- long life battery- this summer with it. A little lack of power but it works, you have to find a good spot with natural reverberation : I performed in small but crowded streets in Aix en Provence and it was ok. People were surprised by the sound quality and I earned a little good money 😉

I was ready to get one when I saw it on another player's channel but they hadn't gotten to the states. I LOVE it! Lot's of tweaks, and it goes great with my other acoustic amp. It's all good!

For some reason I'm reminded of the remarkable rig John Martyn had years ago using two pickups on his guitar, one giving an untreated signal the other with fx. This is in pre app days! Certainly an interesting and clearly versatile amp. Particularly like that it has an input for a dynamic mic. Presumably no 48v for a condenser which would be a good idea. But all in all a pretty neat little amp.

Thanks David, there isn’t a 48v phantom power but good that it has a dynamic mic input, to be honest I think this amp is fantastic, I do understand that I have heard it first hand and that it’s tough to get it across on video, cheers!

Wow, a busker’s dream, though maybe too nice to take to the street. Very smooth tones and though I haven’t heard a Fishman in awhile, this has to compare favorably even without taking price into account. I could do without the emulations as none of them sounded like the models emulated to my ears though they did mange to capture the thinness of the Taylor tone😀. I would definitely like to check this out in person. Great vid and great playing as always. Cheers!

Hi, I would really appreciate some advice. Is it possible to use a condenser mic with the NUX AC-80 Stageman II amp? I know it doesn't have phantom power, but what would I need to use to huck up a condenser mic to the amp to pick up vocals ? Thanks

You would need a 48v preamp to hook it up but honestly a dynamic mic works amazingly well with it as it has and EQ section for that channel :)

I just bought one and I need more instructions how to use drums and loops together. Is I possible to save different loops/drums for later use. Sometimes the drum sound is very low compared to the loop sound. What do I do wrong ? 😀

Hi buddy, I just recorded it with a condenser mic, the rode NT-A although I use it at every gig and I get an amazing sound from it, it your struggling to get a good sound let me know and I’ll share my amp settings, cheers

Hi Derek - I have a question please🙏🙏 Can you connect the amp directly to a PC/Laptop and download a DAW in which to use to record songs? If so can you explain to me how to do this and what cables are needed? Also would your reverb/EFX settings you have selected/configured, carry through to the DAW when recording? If none of this is possible, what is the best way to get record songs? Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Hi and thanks for watching, yes you can use an XLR direct out of the amp to your audio interface into the DAW to record and it’ll keep the reverb / EFX settings, thanks!

@@DerekPaulGuitar okay thanks for that information. So just to clarify, I will still need a audio interface sitting between the Amp and the PC? The Amp will connect TO the audio interface through XLR cable, then the audio interface will connect to the PC? I see the DI Out is Mono, is that a negative thing? Sorry for all the questions, I'm dumb at this. Thanks

No worries at all! We are all learning! For stereo out, use 2 XLRs to an audio interface from the captor X, then pan them left and right (the captor X uses stereo reverb) for mono out just use one XLR out from the captor X to the audio interface (which plugs into your PC) hope that helps!

Seriously plug in a guitar with a decent "non piezo" pickup!! You could plug a piezo pickup into a Fisher Price kids speaker and it would sound the same as plugging into a top of the line AER amp!

I'm afraid that's true. Piezoelectric is so bad, guitarist need the extra preamps and a bunch of effects, like putting makeup on a pig. They are out dated. Most people prefer LR Baggs. It would be very realistic to review an acoustic amp, with the popular KnK Mini. They are affordable, no battery, sound great.

I don't see a headphone socket. If I want to record to PC (via Line Out or DI into a Focusrite) - how do I mute the amp so as not to cause an echo loop? Also, I think the USB is solely for software updates - not pc connection or music playback - am I right? Thanks

You would just use the direct out to a pc, the echo wouldn’t be there, you can adjust the amp volume accordingly, and the USB is just for software updates as you say, thanks

I just bought the amp. There is one issue, I am hearing a buzzing sound when my guitar is plugged into the guitar output and the amp is also plugged in the power outlet. The buzzing sound disappears when using the battery. I appreciate your inputs. Thanks.

Hi Niccolo, I use it entirely on battery but have used it in house on power and didn’t hear the buzzing, did you try other power outlets with nothing else plugged in to establish whether it’s a power socket issue?

Hi, I will try other outlets tomorrow. I guess it has to do with the grounding or maybe our place has an issue with the electricity(I’m from Philippines). Some of the thread results from google suggests that I use a hum eliminator/exterminator but it is pricy. Anyway, I will find for other possible solution if your suggestion didn’t work for me. How us the foot switch set up and used? For a reason the app does not work, it says it needs an upgraded firmware, whatever it may mean.

Honestly the footswitch just operates the drum machine and looper and requires a 9v power supply for the LED’s to work so I don’t bother with it, as an acoustic amp though, even after 3 years of weekly gigging use it’s still exceptional

The amp has a really nice low and and gorgeous highs, it’s not necessarily mid humped like a fishman amp although you can change this using the eq or modelling on the app, depends what kind of classic sound you are after, in my opinion it would work really well with classical guitar, thanks for watching!

Whoa, that's actually pretty slick. Though, my only thing with this is the price and here's why. The IR is ok at best, if I was serious about IR I'm going to go with a Fishman or LR Baggs stomp. I think this might be a good practice amp, but what is it like compared to say the Spark, and I've kind of changed my ways in regards to practice rigs with stuff like their MG-30 or Headrush or Line 6 anyways. Not sure if this one is price appropriately (I'm seeing $500 in the US at 1 shop that says out of stock anyways).

Hey Rich, i'm sort of in the same boat, i love the sound of it, it's incredible but will i use the IR's? probably not, the effects yes, but i'll set my own EQ, the bluetooth streaming is handy too, i can play backing tracks wirelessly, i plan to use it live too so i'll report back (i'll use it battery powered) but the sound from it! cheers

It doesn’t power it but it can take pedals (the NUX optima air is built into this amp, excluding the IR capture)

Fantastic amp but the dy is not operational : sound is way too much powerful so my focusrite saturates even with the enter level at zero !
