What I like about the NWSL is its forward thinking approach to broadcasting - having games aired on Twitch is perhaps a glimpse into the future of sports broadcasting, and their output on social media has generally been excellent. Shame Orlando have pulled out, but understandable - definitely worth checking out if you've not seen North American Women's Football before, it's something I will be checking out whilst my beloved Sheffield FC and FC Women's teams are waiting to find out when we can play again.

CBS is also getting UEFA club soccer rights too. They were supposed to replace Turner's TNT & B/R Live in 2021, but now that Turner quit their TV deal this week amid an unfinished 2020 season and 2021 season left on their contract, they might swoop in and take over much sooner than expected .

I've been trying to get into following women's teams, especially after the blazing performances at the World Cup, but it's hard to find good coverage and analysis, or a reliable platform to watch from. Please do a video on the Portland Thorns' impressive attendance and stadium atmosphere. I guarantee you'll find a ton of interesting stuff about their unique supporter culture, their tifos are on another level of awesome, they're called the Rose City Riveters.

Midge Purce is really supposed to be a forward, but she can play defense also. She will play up top with Pugh injured. Most of their goals will probably go through her, and I felt like Portland always wasted her to give Sinclair a million chances because she's a veteran.

Midge only wants a defensive position because that's where the national team coaches want her to be, this sucks really bad because she's such a great forward. RPH will retire soon and we need young players like Midge to fill those positions. Omg have you been watching the Thorns? Sinclair mainly plays a supporting role now, she is rarely in a scoring position, it's been this way since she was converted to a midfielder a few years ago.

I really feel for Lisa Baird, she became commissioner on March 10th right before all this covid shit went down. I think she's done a pretty good job as commissioner though, she's managed to get a bunch of good sponsorship and streaming deals and and get the league up and running with the support of the players' association in a short amount of time.

@@tudor7746 Not really, only 7 years since the inception, the Portland Thorns have grown and attracted a huge number of fans, an average of 20,000 fans attended their games. The Utah Royals also have an average of 10,000 fans every game, the club only started in 2018.

I have a theory as to why there are no anti-women comments for this video: It's the tittle of the video. If your not into football/soccer you wouldn't know this video had anything to do with women. I've noticed this with other videos. The algorithm doesn't recognize it as a video about women, so it doesn't tell the haters about it.

Being on CBS is a big deal yes but it's not sustainable. For a years the league has struggled to be on cable and I wonder if streaming would be a better option. I would love it if I could watch NWSL on the DAZN instead of looking for where the games are being shown literally each week.

Nine teams in the league, down from 10. One of the 9 caught the virus and won't travel to the tournament, so 8 playing. NWSL will add one new team in 2021 (Louisville FC) and is expected to add 2 more in 2022 (possibly Atlanta and Sacramento).
