I was at a party and chatted with Drew for at least half an hour. At the time, I honestly didn't recognize him as he'd lost a lot of weight at that point. He was an extremely charming and friendly chap. Talkative, interesting and down-to-earth. So, there you go.
He had a couple of novelty songs in the 80s that made the rounds on university campuses for a while. But I don’t think I had ever seen them do stand-up until watching this video.
Jeff Ross shows he really pioneered the modern style that everyone uses. He killed it as the opener. No one else compared, lot of just straight stand up. What the hell was that Dom Irera bit
Z4G uh... yeah. No idea. And I was watching Comedy Central since 2010... weird. Also, I never seen an stand up routine from him, just the few roast where he shows up and his show in Comedy Central.
@@henrychubbs2823 you clearly don't understand comedy, jeff is arguebly the best roaster of all time, people are not hyping him they're just saying how much they love him
When I think of the finest books I've ever read, I think of Tolstoy's War and Peace, Hemingway's For Whom the Bells Toll, and Drew Carey's Dirty Jokes and Beer. Ladies and Gentlemen, do I have taste. LMAO
He got the name wrong; it's for whom the bell tolls, and the poem from which it's taken is the same. Unlikely he's all that literary; probably did this purely for the joke.
@@thatonekid4359 Apparently his wife left him and took most of his things, so he left a tampon on top of his television set to remind him of the C word that took his VCR.
I love it when a comedy old timer like that proves to be the exception and, instead of being outdated and lame, is actually funny. Many weren't, and aren't.
And that is the thing. Drew knows how to take jokes, let alone, knows how to just have pure fun. You can't laugh like you can't love. You can't laugh without laughing at your self, and you cannot love without loving yourself.
Jeff Ross seems to be in every roast….and he is superb! Now I have to checkout if he has any stand up comedy shows on YT…the guy’s humour is phenomenal.
This was recorded October 28, 1998...In case you're wondering. Drew had his eponymous show from '95 to '04. He took over The Price Is Right in '07. Bob Barker died August 26, 2023, just few months shy of 100 years old. He hosted TPIR from 1972-2007.
A real roast! Just good old dirty jokes but you know everyone is joking, today's roasts sometimes cut too deep and feel like they actually got people who hate the subject of the roast. This is classic and beautiful!
If you haven't seen him on Tough Crowd, search now. Totally worth it. I'd wish he'd be like that in his stand up, but he's imo best mixed with others. The interactions are just the best.
@ZacBLive He made people laugh. Hence, he's funny. Comedy is subjective, not everyone digs the same shit. I'm sure some people don't enjoy your tight 15 of knock-knock jokes during Senior's Night at the ol' Tap 'N Cap, but they aren't online straight declaring that you aren't funny. It's opinions, not facts, ya know?
Nick Madigan because I found it on Dailymotion & had been looking for it myself to no success. This is one of the best roasts in my opinion. They really roast the shit out of Drew 😂
Wow I haven't seen most of those comics in years. Kip Adotta ....wow...had forgotten about him. But I love the old vaudeville comics. That was great. The production value of the show is hilarious too. The Vegas lounge act music...classic.
Jeff is rough hhaha that opening Ryan Styles crack was harsh af 🤣 Drew laughed because he knew that it was true. In saying that, Ryan is awesome at what he does and the show wouldn't be the anything without him or Wayne Brady!
