White Teeth is one of my favourite novels! It is a real Londoner's book which can be enjoyed by all. I loved Pachinko too! I cannot wait for season two.

Loved this video! There were three other books on the list by black authors, The Sellout by Paul Beatty (# 17), Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward (# 33), and Citizen: An American Lyric by Claudia Rankine (# 34).

I HIGHLY recommend The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead. It's so good!

Girl "yall know the white man" lol. For jesmyn ward where the line bleeds not included in the list was good i thought. You may like it bette. Zadie's book intimations is a collection of essays and pretty short easy read.

To be honest, it's only since 2001...not the whole 21st century yet. I'm sure we'll get much better ones in the rest of the century ♥ I had only read the Vegetarian but I own so many of the Black books I'm excited to read.

I saw the Underground Railroad series it was interesting. The acting was good. I don't know how much of the series was true to the book.

Honestly white teeth was bad for me I had to dnf. It was so bad I inhaled on beauty and now I don’t feel bad lol also fifth season was one of the best books. But it does take brain power it’s more than fantasy it has so much commentary on race and classism. I would recommend hybrid reading it. Underground Railroad was cool but nickel boys is his best book to me.
