The taxes that get spent in the schools are not the same taxes spent by the county for law enforcement. They didn't take currency away from the school and give it to the police, they took currency out of the school and put it in the pockets of the administration. This is quite common

Almost all of my high school seniors (1967) Left New York very quickly, either military or just getting the hell out of there. The house my parents bought ( Long Island) in 1967 cost $12,000. My mom sold it in 1972 for $36,000. Now the same house is valued at $350,000, with property tax around $7000 a year. I don’t know how people can live and thrive there.

The following comment is not thought to be offensive to anyone mentioned, but just an honest opinion..... You are sometimes right and sometimes wrong with your stance on things. In this case you are way off base. I'd rather see them at least doing this little bit for theirselves (tax money here or there) in the hope that it will change their physique and willingness to do more to live healthier. Personally I find it a disgusting disgrace the way so many of our people go through life as fat bellied and or butted first responders. Not that I excuse everyone else , but they have choosen a profession where others are relyling on their help. Fact is many of them can not even help theirselves. Why are they not required to workout at least one to two times a week in city provided gyms at taxpayers cost to stay in shape. That could only be a health improvment and advantage for them as well as the public. You speak so often as to how we all need to do more to move closer, forward, build each other up to be better people and American citizens. With this video that IMO was nothing more than a spot filler for your podcast (probably just didn't have anything better) you missed the chance to compliment these people for trying to do something positive and influence our younger people to improve their life style. In other words ... you screwed it up. You owe them an applogie IMO.
