His feet were flying, and you would think he had springs in his shoes. He effortlessly leaped over that table. Donald O'Connor was truly the best of the best. Poetry in motion. Thank you for posting this. Very cute movie.
Donald is my top 1 dancer. I love gene Kelly and the brothers -- I forgot their names -- but Donald, he makes even the toughest moves seem easy and exudes energy and joy. I am always happy watching him. Thanks for sharing.
I'm right there with you. Donald O'Connor was absolutely without a doubt the best. He did it all, and then some. They need to create an award specifically for him.

He's that tiny. His official publicity height is five feet seven inches. But I believe he was 5'5". When compared to his costars it's apparent he wasn't 5'7". Marilyn Monroe was 5'5" and had to take off her heels to stand next to Donald. Or else he had to stand on a crate. According to Donald, the director was afraid to ask Marilyn to take off her shoes, so Donald did. He said she couldn't have been nicer about it. Nothing wrong with being short, male or female. I'm only 5'3" but I like it. I'm the tallest of my sisters. One of my sons is 5'5" and the other is 5'10". Go figure.
@@Mybpeterson I don't think so. If he were 5'5" taking her shoes off wouldn't be enough, but he said it was only a 'problem' when she was in high heels with a bouffant hairdo. He looks either the same height or very slightly taller than Gene Kelly whenever they performed on television together, so around 5'7" seems right. Short, but not that short.
