Soccer we are familiar with friendly games and in the friendly games the coaches are happy that the team lose or struggle so they face all the issues with their team.
Devin booker has a finals appearance, kawhi has 2 rings, jrue has 2 rings, curry has 4 rings, Tatum has a ring, Lebron has 4 rings, kd has 2 rings and ant made it to the western conference 💀, embiid gonna have limited mins in 3 years
You do realize that over the course of that decade all four of you guys championships were collected during that time. I understand Steve is not without flaw, but it’s hard to criticize a guy who has brought your franchise their only championships in the modern era.
I mean in that past decade it lead the warriors to 6 finals, 4 chips and acted as the blueprint for potentially the greatest offense in NBA history. So it really aint that much of a problem.
@@musictomyshears Besides largely 2014-2016, his success with rings has come by also having another MVP in KD, to create the best team ever made. Kerr has dropped the ball in the recent Playoffs, has dropped the ball during past Regular Seasons, has dropped the ball in Fiba, and continues to
I’m pretty sure they gave a embiid a promise to start every game, because it’s painfully obvious that he should be coming off the bench, he got a citizenship to France and wrote the French president a letter to get citizenship and to represent France, we more than likely moved heaven and earth to get him to play for USA
Which is crazy if it’s the case, since it would’ve been far better to just pick up another really good big in the league, and then roll with that team. Especially a big who plays consistently
Which is ridiculous. AD, Bam and Myles Turner would have been plenty good enough and perfect fits as Team USA’s bigs. KD, LeBron, JT and JB would have been perfect wings. Curry, Ant, Jalen Brunson and D-White would have been my picks for guards. The 12th guy would be Banchero or Kyrie for me.
@@tominator028that’s what I’ve been saying aswell. People got too hyped about the names when in reality a lot of the younger players are already better. Anthony Edwards for example played incredible in the last World Cup. Why not build a team around him?
Nah you just dead wrong about Haliburton!! He definitely looks good out there, if you watch the other games he pushes the pace and made things flow perfectly in that second unit. And he’s been sticking some good defense. I’m rockin with Hali on this one
Actually the leading scorer on Sudan is an ex nba player from my hometown. Marial Shyok who used to be a NCAA player and a teammate of Joel Embiid. Congrats Marial!
Thing is, as soon as the US gets to the knockouts, it's win or go home. And having an "off night" like this is all it takes. We see it a lot in the playoffs; most players in the NBA cannot perform consistently when they're down 3-1 or 3-0 and everything is on the line.
The problem is what it instills is something nobody can see. This alone gives every other hope. If Sudan can almost beat these USA guys then first world countries as well as other countries in the Olympics is gonna light it up against them
Embiid is NOT the best player on this roster. The man has been a cone on defense and his scoring hasn't been all that. Curry carried one game. Bron carried one. AD and Bam carried one. Embiid looks like a beta when the Alphas enter the room. He's just the best player on a second round team.
@@dominiquebrown2890 do tell. He scored 35 ppg in the NBA. Looks a lot different when foul baiting doesn't go his way. He is not the best player on this team.
Yeah Kerr just dosent know how to utilize lineups for these players. And just other countries just know ball now. They just got better too so a lot of these matchups are gonna be tough regardless
That shit really was on Kerr bro if you just start ad & Edward's they would start fast everytime they are on the court they go on runs but they are mid when they are on the bench really Noone else stepping up
So they almost lost because of one player not the whole team? They won by 1 point it's a lot of problems giving up 100 points to any team that's a total lack of defense.
I think the problem here is that so many young players in this team are very prideful and have so many personal agendas. Not just playing to win as a team and contribute as a team. You can see with so many turnovers and lack of effort to embrace their roles as a whole. International play is different, this type of competition needs more teamwork not hero ball
@@5lim.0 i watched the game and i saw him play well he's not even putting effort on defense and he stopped alot of possessions in the 2nd half of the game defensively Offensively he also hit some buckets from mid range and only missed one shot i feel like y'all watching just to hate this is ridiculius
I don’t think the problem is Embiid I think the problem is the systems (offense and defense) that they’re running. Why are they running the Letriangle and Kerrs boo boo defense?
@@kevmersa6578 mad annoying. Got a PURE point guard in Halliburton that can also shoot it very good and Steph who could spread the floor out so much more for AD and Embiid but they still letting bron bring the ball up turning everyone else to spot up shooters.
I thought I was tripping the first time he said it, but then he said it again and then again. Ninja, your one job is to talk about basketball. I don’t understand. 😂
Kyrie or JB should have been on this team idgaf what beef nike got with them, it’s bigger than just basketball, we gotta continue dominating the other countries
what’s the point of kyrie, we already have enough scorers let alone at the guard spot, so that would just be redundant; i think jb shoulda been the replacement over white but neither of them would give kawhi level production regardless
This is just flat out wrong. The only big issue with the starting lineup is Booker, who clearly has no idea how to be a role player. You probably should have waited to make this video until after all of the exhibition games because he made everyone questioning him look stupid after the Germany game.
Embiid had 14, 7, & 3 in 18 minutes. He was a team-high +15 but yall have fun running w/ ur narratives. Notice how the team is always up big when Embiid goes to the bench in the 2nd half and then AD goes in to close the game and the lead vanishes every time.
The issue is the defensive play calling and execution. The other major issue is the substitutions. Subbing out the hot hand has killed momentum streaks for the team a lot. Then letting under performing line up continue to get minutes. Some egos need to be checked and the coaches arent willing to do it.
I'm not taking a lot of stock in the games tbh. Steve Kerr isn't about to use his best strategies in a meaningless game, and the players aren't about to try as hard as they can unless there's a threat of losing
Cop out excuse. They got USA across their chest. Not gonna try your hardest? Turn in your jersey. Find a beach and sip mojitos. I don't care. But if you're on the court repping USA you better put in 100% effort. I see nothing but excuses for the supposed "best team in history".
@@ntrong32 Right. Go all out in a showcase game just to get injured and miss the Olympics? No thanks. Use all our best strategies so every team can see them and counter them? No thanks. We still won
My biggest concern was always gonna be coaching. Expecting NBA coaches to learn the meta for FIBA in a few months is pretty insane. Kerr also said he would only head coach one Olympics just like Popovich. Our players have played far more games in the last year and have far more accessible footage than any other team in the tournament. We have to be far better than everyone else just to stand a chance.
Actually I disagree. They don't have to just win, they also have to obliterate everyone after KD's comments. If they win but with struggle, then they'll still receive a lot of criticism.
@@srkizen5691They won't obliterate everyone. Honestly this might be the last time the US is _guaranteed_ a win as KD, Steph and LeBron will likely retire
Gold isn't enough. Barely surviving against a country that has a lower GDP than your team roster's networth isn't enough. Everyone comparing this team to the 92 team. That team destroyed a Croatian team with 2 hall of famers by 32 points. That was the closest game they played. Anything less than that level of dominance and this team should name themselves the Meme team.
Expedition: a journey or voyage undertaken by a group of people with a particular purpose, especially that of exploration, scientific research, or war…. I mean kinda 😂
Some of the big issues is that among the best players in the NBA right now, the usual MVP candidates, 4 of the top 5 are foreign players with Jokic, Giannis, Luka, Embiid, and Tatum. I agree that Kawhi needed to be sent home, this past season was the only season that he played more than 65 regular season games since his injury back in '17-18 with the Spurs. Then, he had a nagging knee injury that crippled him in the playoffs. Edwards worrying about being the 1st option can also hinder USA from winning if he presses too much, damaging team chemistry, and team USA could have brought on big, young wings like Evan Mobley and Paolo Banchero on the team to have good young wings that can be on the team for at least the '28 and '32 Olympic teams at least.

People just overrate American basketball too much. They can’t comprehend that there are other nations who are capable of beating Them. People say “ It’s embarrassing if they don’t win gold”. Calm down. It’s just obvious that most of y’all don’t watch international basketball.
It's that they overrate individual talent over team basketball. They also overrate bags over just moving the ball and taking what the defense gives you and cutting and moving off the ball.
I don’t think it’s people overrating, it’s more of what people have gotten used to. Besides 2004 when we didn’t have Kobe we won gold in 92, 96, 00, 08, 12, 16, and 20. It’s a standard that team USA set for themselves and we followed it. The world is finally starting to catch up and the talent worldwide is evening out.
0:21 bro put some respect on there names they were nba caliber players they competed! People act like the U.S played bad nah South Sedan was playing amazing!! The U.S couldn’t hit a three for a while but they competed otherwise defensively and offensively. Hopefully a few of those players either get offered contracts or just continue to do what they love
Embiid shouldn't even be on team usa. He asked France to make him a citizen, and in exchange, he'd play for their team, and they agreed. He then decided to play for USA 😑 He also trash
@@dominiquebrown2890 Yes I am. I've earned that right, and that's exactly what I'll do. I'll cry because of the actions of a person I've never met before in my entire life. That's what I do.
i feel like eveyone is rlly doubting the competition since it’s usa. i know we have some of the best players in the world but there’s some real dogs out there
Embiid is dirt the dream lineup should be Steph Ant Bron Bam AD. Perfectly balanced Embiid can foul bait off the bench he doesn’t play winning basketball hence why his playoff success is nothing.
What are you talking about Embiid isn't playing because the offense doesn't revolve around him that's it. Lebron curry embiid all got their own systems with their respective teams and on team us they are mostly setting plays for curry or lebron is doing whatever he wants.

Its pretty clearly a coaching problem, not a player problem. The politics involved also play a huge factor. The row are more concerned with their actual performance, if you're playing trash, you're out. USA are more concerned on playing favourites

I really need the NBA to get over this "off-the-bench" thing. Have the player's association cook up something where players get played by role and how many minutes they play on the team. Because I've seen so many situations where a team has too many ball dominant guys and would be better with one of them running the second unit so the team always has a scorer on the court, but they don't, because pride and egos (and money, check out Andre iguodalas interview with Carmelo on coming off the bench). Even if Embiid was playing well, the roster construction alone means him running with that second unit makes entirely too much basketball sense.
