Having a separate leaderboard for the oot pc port sounds like a really good idea tbh, it removes the barrier of entry that normal oot has (needing to buy CRT, ESS adapter, good controllers, a console, modding said console for HD, sd card, etc.) While also keeping the original leaderboards in tact.
literally none of that is necessary the leaderboard already allows both n64 and wii emulators, the former of which can run on practically any computer known to man and a wii + gamdcube controller + Webcam or capture card is all you need to record runs ESS Adapter is far, FAR from required and is usually used by high level players. you can also absolutely play on an HDTV and got good results. Modding your console for HD *definitely* isn't required
in fine with having another leaderboard if people want it but it's gonna just lead to bad habits and worse performance when new runners spend a ton of time on SoH and want to switch to console, only to have to deal with more input delay, slower loading times, different deadlines and the quirks of its version I don't think it's a good idea for any serious speedrunners, even if I find it very cool for rando and casual play
These randomizers are going so far that I wonder if there will ever be one that stitches together random parts of geometry from each area in a way where it's still possible to complete the game. Where you have sections of the Forest Temple, Fire Temple, etc. mixed together in single rooms. It would be one giant fever dream - wild stuff!
ship randos are such a blast, i've been using the multiplayer build to play co-op randomizers a bunch! enemy rando makes watching zfg play even more fun, i hope he does more
Even in vanilla you can do the Shooting Galleries without the Slingshot or the Bow. As an adult, winning the Shooting Gallery without the Bow just nets you the secondary prize of a Purple Rupee. As a child, since you're expected to have the Slingshot by the time you get to the market the game doesn't check for the Slingshot like the adult game does. If you win the Market Shooting Gallery you get the 50 capacity slingshot bag, but when you later get the Slingshot, the 50 capacity bag is replaced with the default 30. Not sure if that flips the flag for having gotten the upgrade from the shooting gallery back off or not.
I'd LOVE to see more of this! Just on the VODs channel. Enemizer in OoT is crazy and funny! I hope ZFG will give us more of these settings, cuz i love watching Andy Laso play ALTTPR enemizer, but in OoTR it's way more interesting! I'm not that good at OoT, so regular settings already take energy from me more, but enemizer would be insane! I'd love to see the constant changing enemizer kinda option in ALTTPR, ngl XD (maybe just with enemies who don't have items) If some spawns would be too crazy, i'd be able to at least change it a bit... maybe make it worse, haha!
I tried asking this on a Linkus7 video with no answer but could someone be willing to tell me how to get this? This as in the PC OOT port as I wanted to see if me and my friends could do a 3-4 person randomizer.
My comment keeps getting auto-deleted, so I'll just keep simplifying this until it works. Google "ship of harkinian" and what you want is in the first three results.
I don't believe there is any plan currently to do OOT/MM due to both being separate executables (SoH is OoT only, MM will be called something else). In either case if it does happen it's way far off.
It's a representation of the "number seed", those icons translate to numbers and those numbers translate to where each check is placed. Its usefull for example if you want to share a seed with someone.
6:40 no, turning the original mechanics off, when you can't equip an item is cheating. Can't have it both ways. Either you can select every slot or you can equip swap with (almost) any item.
There it is. But uh, considering how easily accessible the code is and, in turn, the addresses, it shouldn’t be that hard. The only annoying part was the rom; it’s now gotten to Pal GC master quest, which is legitimately obtainable, meaning there’s a chance.
In that room, you can get the silver rupee on the ceiling without hookshot by letting the wallmaster that ordinarily spawns in that room grab you while you're directly underneath it. If it's the last silver rupee, you'll be warped back to the entrance but when you return to the room it will be cleared and the door will be unlocked.
@@aceofhearts749if the question is regarding a Rupee Pickup, then that is the correct answer...also included in the choices (of Random Currencies) were things like "200 Bells" for a Golden Rupee; Bells being AnimalCrossing's money...
The team behind Ship of Harkinian can't do anything with Majora's Mask until the game gets fully decompiled which has stalled as of late. They do plan on making a PC port of MM just like with OoT but it's going to take lots of time and resources so it's still a long way off. But it is planned.
The reason it looks 120 is because people are used to 20 and adding 50% is such a huge upgrade. It's not frame interpolation like on TVs where new frames are generated based on the images that have been output. It's animation keyframe interpolation, which is how modern games render at high frame rates. The 3D models and the camera really are being updated at a higher rate.
It was probably something else. They don't just hand out bans willy nilly unless it was something to do with the giga leak or piracy. They take that shit VERY seriously because Nintendo can shut them down if it's even hinted at that piracy is involved (which it isn't).
its not an Emulator, its the reverse-engineered PC Port (called 'Ship of Harkinian')...because its based on the decompiled source code of the game (instead of the "pre-baked" assets in a ROM file), theres a LOT more freedom in customization options... in other words, its not that the game is being Read differently, more that it was Rewritten, so previous limits like a 4:3 scale and the framerate are no longer obstacles
@@LunarSoul255 it's almost like I clearly didn't know the difference. Thanks for the condescending attitude instead of being helpful. I can tell you'll go far in life.
@@john6717 How could one not know the difference between an emulator and a PC port if you have actually used an emulator before? Like, even if you aren't that tech savvy, you should at least understand that games made for consoles normally don't work on PC, and emulators are the magic programs that make them work. PC ports of games are made to run on PC, no magic required (usually). I always thought that the process of loading ROMs into the emulator made this distinction obvious.
I really wish they'd add an option to disable the gameplay stats because I kind of hate that sort of thing. A "Draw distance for Market Bridge only." option would also be handy, but not for me.
You know you don't have to care about the gameplay stats just because they can be shown. No one else sees it. Does it make you insecure? How can this possibly upset you? This is such a non-issue to evoke something as extreme as "hate".
@ThatguycalledJoe because it is unimportant. You personally can decide if you want to be interested in it. It's existence will remain. Your opinion is an extreme minority and does not deserve the dev effort required for such a non-issue. Please understand your hyper niche minority opinion and realize that every copy of a game can't be perfectly personalized for each and every user.
