Guys -- I've been a fan since Cerulean came out, went back & got the eponymous album right after (loved it too), and when Beneath the Rhythm & Sound was released I was there on a Tuesday afternoon, buying the tape (!!) at an old-school record shop in the Rotunda in Baltimore, near my college campus, full of excitement. That album continues to bring me joy all these years later, and I listen to it regularly still. As a college student in Maryland in those days, I loved you representing Hershey, PA with a sound that felt indie-college-unique & special, and it meant everything. It was as if you were writing those tunes for a group of people who experienced the same seasons of life & grew up simultaneously as the band members, around the same age, in the same little corner of the world, and the universality of your music extended beyond that corner to reach across the globe to touch the hearts of people everywhere with its soulful, tender beauty. You've always been one of my favourite bands, and always will be. Your new tunes are absolutely stunning. I love that they're not just a nostalgic throwback to times long past (though they have plenty of nostalgia oozing from them, no doubt); they are just as fresh, meaningful, and lovely as any tune you've written, performed, and recorded over the years. I'm so thankful that you're sharing your art with the world, my friends. It means a lot. I'm moved, and stand in deep appreciation of your work. THANK YOU, OCEAN BLUE. Absolutely LOVE the new stuff!
I'd say this is an appreciation open letter from many of us fans and followers of TOB for so many years of true art service to the world of there, this is what the world really needs, people need more art in this life what we realize
This is one of my favorite songs off your latest album and I think this video is just perfect. Love your music. We hope you keep going for many more years. You just keep getting better and better. Much respect and love from Utah.
His voice is my happy place. I'm happy and lighter when my ears hear those awesome guitar licks and his gorgeous phrasing. I'm so grateful for this band. Terrible how underrated they are. But we who know, we know they are stellar. Respect.
I've played this about six times in a row, and it just keeps sounding better. This is the TOB I know and love, and all those gorgeous jams of the 90's I can hear in this, along with just enough contemporary touch to make it approachable (I hope) for the taste-challenged younger crowd.
I discovered your first album while working at a health club in Baltimore around ‘90. Someone left a recorded cassette with Ocean Blue written on it. I was curious and listened to it all weekend before bringing it back to work to return it to the owner. One of those records that you can listen to all the way through! Love your music!
Love doesn't make it easy on us It pulls in the planets and stars Captures both Venus and Mars Wow! Great lyrics... not unusual coming from such great band!!!!!
The female vocalist in the video is Allison Labone from the band "The StarFolk". I saw The Ocean Blue in Philly last year, and there was a special guest that performed this song with the Ocean Blue. It was Kedra Caroline from the Band "The Morelings". Loved it.
I am not articulate enough to ascribe words to how this song makes me feel. This song is beautifully arranged and performed. There are few pieces of music that bring a tear to my eye, this is one, Fast Forward Reverse I also. Hats off to you all.
