Maxx C was never getting banned on this list. Konami just released some product meant to get new players into competitive ocg format which included maxx c It would be very bad to immediately invalidate those decks and piss off all the new players.
Iirc Transmigration even negates everything else in the chain rather than just the card you respond to, so it beats chainblocks and huge effect chains like Labrynth effects.
The chummy to ban Maxx c idea always felt like cope to me. Like it makes total sense to print a worse Maxx c if it’s going to be an archetype/series which it clearly implies. And even if we assume it was a standalone card meant to replace Maxx c, do you think they printed Dominus Purge so they could ban ash blossom?
Beatrice to 1 is a warning limit, and anounces that it's getting banned next list. What this truly hurts other than BA are the decks that can make multiple of her in a turn and can play Beatrice control this way (I remember that you could build Virtual World to do that). And same goes for S:P. They're putting a gun at her head and telling us that they'll shoot her in 3 months.

1:10 "It's a normal summon that's two bodies for free" Yeah, so's Girsu. If all you want is a normal summon that can make a link 2 by itself it's not like you don't have options already. Hell, Terrortop can do it without needing a normal summon if you're okay with playing a garnet.
Alright this is kind of whining. Girsu requires at least two garnets and locks you into dark, terrortop requires a garnet and requires normal if you have ANY board. In contrast GUB can put a link one into your grave while making the 2 materials allowing easier access to certain link monsters like SP, and also can summon itself for virtually no cost even if discarded or milled.
@@L_O_V_E_L_A_I_N okay so… girsu if you control no other monsters meaning it can’t be used as an extender or later in the game unless you get board wiped gives you a token. This is still nowhere near as good as GUB. The token is not an effect monster so it cannot be used for many of the link 2s by itself that GUB and a link 1 can make, and some of the link 1s (such as anima) cannot use a token. That’s very mid tbh. And that’s not even mentioning that it gives your opponent a token, meaning unless your combo specifically removes it somehow, it increases the chance your opponent can react to your board whatever it is, because you have then a resource equally as strong as the one you generated, potentially stronger if their deck synergizes with the token in any way. And all the while, GUB benefits from incredibly strong support for things like level 1 monsters. One for one summons it from deck without your normal at the cost of a discard, meaning a LIVE S:P can be summoned via just a one for one, and that’s simply one possible option for the card slot. Especially in the kinds of deck that already run one for one, like link combo decks using dotscaper or snake-eyes, that’s very powerful.

I'm responding specifically to the part of the video I pointed out where Farfa claims that Bulb is a dumb card because it's a normal summon that provides two bodies. He never mentions milling or sending it, or any other synergies, so I don't bother to acknowledge them either. But to address some of it, keep in mind that Girsu giving the opponent a token can also be an advantage by for example forcing an early Imperm from hand or stopping some special summons like Kashtiras. Sure you can't make Anima with the token but you can make Linkuriboh, or if you're playing in the TCG, you still get Link Spider.

pretty much. tho it also discourages running multiples if you also run the pot cards that fuel from your Extra deck(which btw, Extrav only exists to make you play multiple copies of ED staples and should have never been printed.)

@@lyncario5515issue is snake eyes is hard to gut. In master duel they have ash and wanted to 1. Basically killing pure completely. Yet Oss just makes fire king snake eyes the best deck. Even with one ash one poplar 0 oak one wanted one diabelle, snake eyes will be in the meta as long as oss exists to pivot into fire king. Plus we all know if they hit snake eyes in the tcg without banning oss the day consort is released snake eyes will be tier 1 again. There is no way to gut snake eyes now and in the future to tier 3 or so without killing it. As long as oss exists it will be meta in the future. You HAVE to ban oss unless we're never releasing consort. Only way to hit it to below tier 2 is poplar ban or oss ban with some consistency hits, But poplar ban is brutal.
i liked the part where gimmick puippet was a go second otk deck, i think?, then they gave it suport to make the entire identity ftk with the help of an ignorance fieldspell just so that they now hit cards that never in a million years where problem cards

For Colossus, this is actually a huge change. 1. You can’t get sacked by Kashtira Unicorn. If at any point you activate a monster effect while your opponent has unicorn (which will be always before you can summon him) they’ll get rid of your only copy and that’s that. 2. If for any reason you need to send a thunder dragon (let’s say roar or dark) to the graveyard and you don’t have any card except other thunder dragons in your hand. Then you can activate it even if your first colossus was removed without having to try and recoil him through fusion or chaos creator. 3. You can use colossus as a reliable Titan path. Now again you don’t have to worry about using fusion to recoil colossus and can instead sue your first one to summon Titan without worries. As a thunder dragon player this is good news but undeniably it’s 50/50 if it’s too much. I personally think colossus and in turn TD’s are balanced with him at one so who knows.
Farfa, come on, sir. They 're not going to hit Soushokusuru G (Maxx "C") after releasing Tactical Try Evil Twin and Tactical Try Cyber Dragon on June 8th if their goal is to get new players into the game in OCG territories. Imagine buying a company created "introductory product” for getting into competitive paper yugioh ["Designed to be played at a tournament" (Source: the marketing announcement)], only for said company to ban two cards from the deck when said company is having issues getting new players.
another point: the tactical try decks are getting a second batch prints to be released on August. Safe to say Maxx C isn't getting banned for the entire year.
3 Colossus is a HUGE difference, because it wasn't JUST used for being a floodgate at the end of a combo. It was used as Rank 8 material and then the turn would end with multiple on the field, so opponents wouldn't be able to search just by having opened an Imperm.
Yeah Bulb at 3 from 1 doesn’t change much for the decks that would run it beyond just boosted consistency to open it. The actual effect is once per duel.

An idea that occurred to me during this video is what if the real reason they made Chummy was so they could eventually introduce a weaker maxx C to the TCG in an odd attempt to make the format resemble the OCG more for some reason?

Why does Konami like dominant Tier 1 formats? Because now that Snake Eye is crazy and isnt getting hit, but in Unchained-RescueAce-SuperHeavy was a diverse format they killed those decks
Because money. In a game without set rotation, the only way Konami can get people to buy new cards is to continue making them increasingly obsolete. But from a competitive standpoint: a more skewed format is easier to side for. Like, AGOV is going to be great to go back to as a time wizard format, but when we were boots on the ground playing that format while it was going on, it was really hard to build side decks for that format and a lot of competitive players were bitching because of it (even though that's kind of the point of an unsolved format, because the game's more fun with its less figured out).
OCG Yugioh competes with way more other cardgames than TCG so straight up banning decks into unplayability leads to players who bought into those decks potentially switching games to Weiss Schwarz, Vanguard, Digimon, Onepiece etc. OCG is also way more casual and filled with Petdeckers who only play the game for their pet deck, thats why most decks are playable in the ocg but held back by maxx c and consistency hits.
@@luminous3558 yes yugioh competes with a larger variety of games in the ocg but it seems much more dominant in Japan than the yugioh tcg is in the west just on shop presence alone. Yugioh there is like what mtg is here from I’ve seen, that is the vastly more dominant game with the others placed around it.
Sangen summoning is worst at more than one copy since they can just get a second copy with paidra if it dies. This at least prevents them from going down the trident dragion line with 6k atk on him if you pop it
So my biggest fear is true... That they release chummy not to replace Maxx c, but cus they think Maxx C not enough with 1 card combo became popular... God please proof me wrong.
They rarely give people a replacement for a card they are going to ban. They could make something even better than Maxx C and ban the original as long as it gets you to keep buying product. They don't have to do you any favors first. That's what they really think of their players.
I just find it insane that Master Duel is still running complete non-sense bans that hurt garbage decks be even more garbage. Like why tf is Time Seal or Ib still banned in MD? They are releasing a new banlist for OCG but they couldn't change a few integers in MD to accompany it? Like, what are they genuinely even doing?
The Worlds qualifiers in MD just ended, we should be getting a banlist pretty soon. That being said, MD lists are very hit or miss, so I'm not holding my breath for a format saving list by any means.
One thing people always complain about is the 1 to 2 to 3. while then ignoring the times things go to 3, example being Colossus this list. it's exceptionally inconsistent, the TCG also does this with completely unviable cards, inzektors ether and post errata chaos emperor.
There is a loop that Junks can pull off to loop Time Seal / Pyro Clock of Destiny (First turn Final Countdown!) using Junk Collector, DDR, and Primal Seed.

Maxx C ban wagoners are a bunch of copium huffers. If anything, Mult gets banned and the TCG gets scuffed Maxx C as Komoney intended. OCG players are already saying Mult does nothing though.
@@admontblanc Why would they be correct? The card is strong so it will see play, every card that is banned and should be banned would see play if legal. TCG doesnt want maxx c legal because it would be everywhere and turn half the games into non-games.
Multchummy is mid when you have Maxx c because the cards have anti-synergy. That’s why we thought it might go because who’s going to play multichummy when you can play Maxx C? Evidently no one. Guess they just made it to give the tcg a weaker Maxx C so they can keep printing lazily designed degenerate combo decks.
Now i get it. OCG will never ban maxx c. It makes sense because they don't want to copy TCG ever! Because this is a Japanese game originally. Instead they want TCG to be more like ocg. That's why they release mult so that when worlds comes around the ocg players can use something similar to maxx c.
Personally, I think if they were going to more or less unify the lists, they would have done it by now. However, I think Maxx C being unbanned in TCG is more likely than OCG banning Maxx C

I just think they're introducing mult chummy for ocg players playing in world's who are used to Maxx c like cards. Also it might be too soon to say Maxx c won't get banned in ocg until we see the rest of mult chummy arctype. They will probably be one for extra deck special summons and one for main deck/graveyard special summons. Then ocg will have to make a big decision. Let me just say that for tcg players we are chilling because these mult chummy cards will be way more far than Maxx c will ever be. Ocg will be chaotic.
@akuma2095 Honestly wouldn't mind maxx c at 1. My main issue is that too many duels are affected by it. Also annoying that 6-10 cards in your deck are already decided in MD depending on archetype just from its existence at 3. It really stunts creativity
time seal needs a first turn activate trap card to be maybe feasiblely not completely unuseful. rollback has many better proactive first turn targets and reactive targets and even if it can be activated same turn set it needs an hand emptier to be useful.
Ghost meets Girl is theoretically a strong Rollback target and no real Lab list runs that card either. I highly doubt Lab competitively will use time seal over literally any other much better trap tech
even if it did that its so trash. The cards that can empty a whole hand are way more problematic than the thing that "infinitely" locks down the draw afterwards. Remember we can actually just otk turn 3 so we dont need time seal ever.
I wouldn't expect Maxx C being banned in OCG when they just released the Tactical Try Decks where the card is included. Maybe if they start releasing new TTDs where Maxx C is not included it will mean its a sign.
4:08 pretty sure the hesitance to keep timeseal under control relies on the fact is a normal trap. meaning transaction rollback can cheat it out and labrynth can steup a way of activating it in the turn its set.
Rollback can exploit Girl Meets Girl which is way better then Time Seal, but in actual practice no real competitive Lab list runs that card. Lab has even less reason to tech in Time Seal.
if removing your opponent's turn 1 draw really was good, decks would just play drastic drop off which is better in every way because it's more flexible and your opponent can't chain to it. DDO sees absolutely zero play because cards can do more than just trade 1 for 1 with your opponent randomly and only when going first.
Time Seal Lab will be a meme probably, but you're taking out other traps to play a card that is only really good going first. Besides, you can already handrip 2 before your opponent gets to play if you want to, Time Seal isn't giving the deck anything that they didn't already have.
@@mrharvy100it's also possible that most lab players aren't the brightest tools on the shack. That guy who made it to top 4 in UK Nats playing that linear cannon card did something most lab players never seriously considered and now you'll probably see copycats springing up. If that card you mentioned is that good then someone will probably end up causing a similar upset W it.
time seal was limited because there were loops for it. it was never good except if looped. the traditional combo was mask of darkness and tsukiyomi to repeatedly get it back and loop it essentially preventing your opponent from drawing after the first activation. there are probably better ways to loop it these days tbh so I will be unsurprised if it gets hit again because someone found a degenerate draw lock out.
@@Golladan tbf any deck looking to loop time seal is going to be intentionally dragging out the game. it's like fiber jar where you probably aren't doing it because you want to win you are doing it because you find it fun to make sure nobody else is having fun.
So, do Japanese players hate Maxx C? Like people wanted to be banned in a format they don't play. And because it didn't happen, I imagine they aren't that bothered by the little bug.

I remember farfa did a vidoe where Japanese players complained about maxx c like other players. I also remember an OCG player (who got first in the MD duelist cup I think) telling Farfa that he'd like to play the TCG just to not deal with maxx c.
