SUPPORT PUMA
============
PUMA is an open source microscopy project. You can help support the project by:
1. Become a Patron: / pumamicroscope
2. Donate via PayPal: www.paypal.com...
3. Simply subscribing to this RU-vid channel, like, comment and share these videos.
4. Spread the word - post the news about PUMA and link to this RU-vid channel on your social media sites and any other outreach method (tell your friends, colleagues, students or teachers and lecturers about PUMA, for example).
5. Consider purchasing your optics and related supplies from our affiliated online optics store, OptArc.co.uk ( www.optarc.co.uk/ )

PARTS AND TOOLS
===============
For more details see the 'Bill_of_Materials' on the PUMA GitHub page ( github.com/Tad... ) which also gives examples of where you can buy some of the more specialised items.
The relevant worskheets in that document are:
MD_Ocular
MD_Monocular_C_Mount
MD_Monocular_head
MD_Binocular_head
MD_Ergo_monocular_head
For the epi-condenser light sink you print the 'DI_Epi_condenser' model from the Dominus Illuminator FreeCAD files
For the interactive pointer you will need to build and fit the AR projector and PUMA Control Console - see the separate dedicated tutorials on those modules for details.
Tools required are the usual 3D print finishing tools (craft knife, wire brush, fine grit sand paper, etc.) and Allen keys of appropriate sizes for the screws (1.5 mm for the M3 grub screws and M2 socket head screws, 2.5 mm for the M3 socket head screws).
MODELS CREATED OR UPDATED FOR THIS VIDEO RELEASE
================================================
The following models were released on the GitHub repository just prior to this video being released - use these instead of any previous versions for the instructions in this video to 'work' and for optimal performance.
Binocular:
Cap_spacer_nut_arm - modified to have thicker plastic between the nut and the articulation and advised to use C'Condenser' Cura profile for toughter construction.
Ocular_spacer_ring - new
CM_Tube_short_c_adhesin - new
CM_BB_Cover - new
Outlet_upper - modified
MB_Tube_Spacer_XpYmm - All spacers modified to have a slightly smaller outer diameter for easier fit in teh MBT and some new thicknesses made.
Splitter_block - modified
Outlet_lower_spacer - new
Splitter_support - new
Ocular_base_thread_L - modified, added receptacle for splitter support shelf
Ocular_base_thread_R - modified, added receptacle for splitter support shelf
Monocular:
Ocular_Extn_CM_c_adhesin - updated
EM_Block - new
EM_Block_cover - new

Fantastic to see the mashup of classic and modern British engineering! Amazing job! This is exactly how 3d printers should be used, I can see this taking off in a huge way!

Thanks - and yet so few people seem to be aware of the project. Please tell others about it on social media and amongst your colleagues. More videos are on the way, and I've just released a 'Quick Start' guide PDF on the GitHub site to make it easy for people to get started building their first scope.

@@PUMAMicroscope definitely have been and will do more. The quality and myopic detail of your work really shines through. I am in the process of ordering the non-printed parts to start having a play around with it myself. I can't believe you managed to get a TFT filter working, along with all the modularity, wow.

That's great. If you have questions you can contact me via the support desk email @optarc.co.uk or raise a GitHub issue if that's more appropriate. I am in the process of making the video on the TFT SLM - it involves some very delicate 'electro-surgery' so it's taking me some time to put that video together.
