✅The Odorants from Finland new album called "Love Songs never Die" will be out on Striped Records on Jan. 19th, 2024. Anssi (singer/guitarist) and Jaakko (drummer) are the original members ofthe line up, but the band started in 1995 and broke up around 2006. PC on bass complete the 3-piece since the band reformed in 2017. 🤘Anssi: "We like all the classic albums from Lookout and FatWreck plus Alkaline Trio, Afi, The Get Up Kids, Jimmy Eat World… and I love The Cure!". You can hear all these influnces, and more, in their upcoming album "Love Songs Never Die", produced by Perry Leenhouts of The Travoltas, at Point Break Studio. "I heard on The Dummy Room podcast that Perry lived in Stockholm, Sweden. Got a hold of him and he mastered our first album with the new line up "When Tigers Used To Smoke". Started talking with Perry about out new songs and send him some really rough demos and he liked those, said he could produce the whole thing. He also contributed on 2 songs with lyrics and some riffs. Flew over to meet him for a few days to do some pre-production and we hit it off really good". 💘When we heard the record here at Striped, we were amazed. You know: every day, thousands of bands send their just-recorded-new albums to thousands of record labels. - 99% of these messages will never be opened. - 99% of the opened messages will go in the trash can right away. - 99% of the music that will be listened will not impress anyone. So yeah, this is a one-in-a-million story. Anssi: "We got a hold of Striped Records mainly because of the Queers and Screeching Weasel albums they released. We love those bands so much and thats how we found out about Striped. Then realised that its the home of The Manges too which we also like". 😲Andrea Manges: "We were working at the Striped headquarters, opened Anssi’s email and listened to The Odorants new album, loved it. Never heard of that band before, but we discovered they have been active for a long time… So we listened to previous stuff on Spotify... loved it". And what's better than an artwork treatment by the man himself, Riccardo Bucchioni? Now the record both sounds AND look great, and it's ready to go!
