The Office, Holly Flax, Kevin, mentally, ill, retarted, mentally challenged, Season 4, Season 5, Michael Scott, Steve, Carrel, Amy Ryan, Brian Baumgartner
I always felt like this prank would've been pulled by Jim instead of Dwight. But the producers probably felt that Jim wouldn't pull such a mean prank on Kelvin or Holly so they gave it to Dwight.
1:06 this scene and the one where Kevin sat on Michael's lap where the two scenes Brian Baumgartner (Kevin's actor) found the hardest to stay in character, according to himself.
Everyone's talking about how sweet Holly is, and that' true, but can anyone think about the mindblowing experience she must've had knowing that after ALL THIS TIME and all thos interactions, he really never was retarded.
"Well FOR me... my scene with Holly when she counts the coins in my hand and holds up the button and tells me "This is a button." Something about the look on her face and voice. There is still a smile on my face in the take they used. For Everyone else- the one that everyone always talks about was Kevin sitting on Santa's (Michael's) lap." - Brian (Kevin) when asked what the hardest scene to film was.
I hate the tone Holly took with Kevin. I hate it when people use different tones for children and people who have mental problems. Be gentle? Yes! But be condescending.... no....
Ikr....she is genuinely kind AND strong willed, the way she firmly says "NO. YOU DO NOT SPEAK TO HIM THAT WAY". She didn't deserve that :( made me hate Angela a bit more tbh lol
I was so sad when it ended, I don't find the comedy of the office great all the time, but the jokes around this subject were so, so good, I was expecting it would be a thing that would keep for a long time making small appearances and making me laugh for the rest of the episode.
@@giampiras he's actually good at math when it's about counting food, and he even opened a successful bar right after he got fired by that tyrant megalomaniac Dwight, He even invented Kleven. He's just a slow-learner so...
Pranking an HR person isn't a very good idea. She just would of said that Dwight told her he was retarded and fired him. Jim got away with moving Dwight's desk into the toilets and other times he didn't even know he had been pranked.
pulakification Once me and my friend were talking in front of the computer about how our budget is screwed and the raise in taxes is fucked up and then I saw ads for investments in mutual funds , those ads don't come for me , its normally bike and phone ads that appears ... Just saying .
I would & most guys would think exactly that. No girl ever gets that close to guys without a reason. Either she likes one so much, wants something in return (e.g. money or something else she wants them to do) or after watching this, if she thinks they are retarded & feels like they need help. Lol! So can't really fault him for thinking that. She was probably one of the only 3-4 women who ever treated him that nice.
Years ago I was a support worker for people with intellectual disability. I was with a client at an art class and joined the painting activity. One of the teachers came up to me and said, "Hi! I haven't met YOU before. What's YOUR name?" I told her and then she looked at my painting (which was crap) and she exclaimed, "Oh, that is FANTASTIC! You are SOOOO good at this. You should be PROUD of yourself!" Why do people put on a super-patronising voice and speak to people with ID as if they're 2 years old?
As much as this was one of the greatest moments in the history of this show it also ended up being the complete downfall for the character of Kevin - they wanted to keep going with Kevin having moments where one would suspect him of being mentally challenged but did so to the point where it became his defining characteristic, and also made them worse each time to the point where at the end of season 7-start of season 8 he’s pretty much been given the brain of a four year old
this shows that if he's willing to, dwight has the potential to do the worst/best pranks to anyone with a Machiavellian touch. he knows kevin could be taken as a retarded person and knows holly is nice so he blends those two ingredients together and in result we have one of the most hilarous sequences in sitcom history
