Mariana Faría Put yourself in Karen's shoes and see if it's still cool then. She knew about Jim and Pam, and it *was* inconsiderate of him to make as big a deal as he did. Then again, Jim always was kinda scummy when he wasn't "with" Pam.
He's always loved Pam more, at that point he just didn't realise so naturally when she told him she'd won the contest he was really happy for her even though Karen was right there.
I think it was "douchey", that Karen interrupted them when they were having a friendly, not too deep conversation about a little success she made. Yeah, she new they had history, but should he be rude or indifferent to her because of it? Also, Karen new they were friends first - best friends at the office. So if Karen hasn't (implicitly) asked him to chose between his friendship to Pam and his relationship to her, then maybe they could have all been friends, and he would have stayed with her. But it is unlikely, since we're talking about Jim and Pam here :D
I love how Jim's face lights up when Pam tells him about the contest. He is so happy for her, interested and supportive. In the end the only opinion and reaction that mattered for Pam was his. They should have kept the scene because it's beautiful.
Pam is so cute when she said she won, it's like she wins the whole world. But how dare you PAM, WHY would anyone not take the dominant male? That's Angela's best offer. LUL
Aww this really shows Jim and Pam's love for each other. One reason why everyone loves The Office is because it's so real. The subtleness of the show and the truth to it is what hits at home. We get to see everyones relationship build.

I don't think the two are related. That happened way later on and Dwight isn't even in the office for this episode. That Erin part was just dwight getting revenge on Pam and Jim for their pranks.
Molecular Poker actually yes as soon as I read the discretion of the video I thought of the time Dwight prank Pam and Erin being the new receptionist makes total sense
Basically the point of Dwight doing that was to show Pam that, just as much as she didn't care about Erin winning her "fake" art contest, no one else cared about Pams art contest.
That's so much information about the people in the office in two and a half minutes:D The characters and the relationships being drawn in front of our eyes so naturally. Love this show.
I always felt like Pam's art was kind of a cruel joke. She obviously loves doing it, but she's also obviously only average at it. It's kinda painful to see Pam get all excited and passionate about her hobby only to discover that she's not actually that good at it and that even her best works are only average.
Art is a matter of taste and context. One piece of art can have great impact on one kind of people, while being meaningless for others. Also artwork is a continuation of personality of the author, so if the author is interesting, her works will be interesting too.
That´s what passion is all about. It doesn't matter if you are the best or average. If you enjoy it and get excited about it you keep going that way, is what you love.
@@axmortz To make a deal with a client, it's from S03E12. Also, it's just after Karen discovers Jim had/have feeling for Pam, that's why she rushes him.
She should have told Micheal, he would have been beyond proud and probably thrown a party in her honour. But she certainly got the reaction she was looking for from Jimbo 😋
Pam said "hey Jim" instead of easily saying "hey guys" when Karen was standing right there so I think Karen has a right to be annoyed. Pam could have easily included Karen in the conversation instead of let her stand there by the door waiting for Jim and her to finish their chat. I love Pam but she was not good to Karen.
Karen probably didn't know or care about her art so it would be pointless to tell her. Jim actually knows and cares so telling him was the right thing. Plus she told individual people about the contest not just the whole office which makes sense because again...not everyone cares. Also Pam was nice to Karen in other episodes but Karen is a douche who gets very jealous over two people wanting to be friends.
Jay Patel She was right to be jealous though? Also including everyone in conversation is just normal. Everyone in the Office is very antisocial that doesn't mean we shouldn't criticise Pam. It is pretty obvious pam left Karen out because she doesn't like her for dating Jim.
kitsnickets I think she tried to be nice to Karen but did these small things without noticing, because she was a sweet person to everyone no matter what
Jim was the one that was already talking to her though. It's not like she was purposely excluding Karen, she was just adding on to the conversation that her (Pam) and Jim were already having. If Karen had also said something to Pam, I'm sure she would have said "guys" instead.
I hate it when I click on the button to see the image full size, and it brings up a new screen with the same small image in the top left. Always feels like the internet just trolled me.
Jim was out on a sales call that day with Dwight. I think this would not have been shown in one go but would have been cut up in multiple pieces, 3 or 4, that would have made it a story through the episode. So the reason she tells Kevin and Angela first is that they were still there that day but Jim left for the sales call. Jim probably just got back with Dwight because he was hanging up his coat at the start and he hadn't even seen Karen yet (as you can see by his reaction). So she pretty much told him right away when she had the opportunity, it's not an ideal time to tell him as he is just leaving but she can't even wait for when he is back from his coffee. Wich makes more sense for her character then waiting imo.
I can see why this is merely a bonus scene. Even so, it is still good to see, because we already know from the pilot episode that Pam had showed Jim her watercolour and oil pencil illustrations, and that Jim had said they were good. The fact that Pam had not given, say, Roy's opinion on her work shows that it was Jim who was most invested in her art. And in the next season, Jim and Pam had an argument when she turned down the graphic design internship in New York. Jim justifiably felt that Pam wasn't taking chances. So Pam winning an art contest would have been a nice culmination of that subplot arc. But again, it is technically filler, and Jim had not been so open with Pam during this episode or immediately beforehand. Although to be fair, Jim's reaction to Pam may have helped confirm Karen's suspicions. It would be just a little too obvious. So I can see why it is only a bonus.
Because it is filler, even though it's sweet and entertaining. And I don't think that Jim had been that effusive with Pam prior to this episode, if my memory serves me correctly.
