The ONLY thing I would add is not to run at or away from people if you’re trying to survive. Walking away from people you aren’t sure of gives you the appearance of confidence and will not trigger people into attacking you as quickly. Either way, very good points!!!
Yesss this was actually one of my original points but it was so complex to explain I dropped it from the video. X"D The original thing was like 50 minutes long. lol What I usually do is I walk towards them a little bit. Or I quest even if I am not interested in finishing the quest. It just all comes across as "i do not worry about you at all". It's also btw why the allo attacked my dasp at the delivery tree. I intentionally expressed discomfort by being a bit too reactive and kinda tricked him in to attacking me. Had I been more chill he would have thought I probably have friends. Ahem, wait no, not intentionally. I would never trick anyone in to attacking me...nuhuh never happens.
I cant tell you how many times I've made people avoid fighting me with body language alone lol It helps that I'm usually on my kentro 😂 Great vid Narsku! I would add that when doing quests on Panjura, all quest item areas are color coded. Acorns are in dark brown areas, pinecones in light brown, flowers and button mushroooms in green, etc. Also, footsteps are scaled! A baby dino will hear footsteps much louder than an adult will hear them, from the same creature at the same distance.
I’d add pachy and thal to the list of targeted species. Pachy is often targeted by sarcos (the crocodile) and alios (alios are usually be of the few species that can keep up with a pachy). Pachys are targeted because the last major updates to the game made pachys very good at hit-and-run tactics. They can run down anything their larger allies cannot catch. Thal is often targeted because it flies and it’s noisy. Even if you’re a quiet thal, you will be attacked (or players will attempt to attack you) when you aren’t in the air. Thals are often scouts for larger groups of players who are looking for a fight. So for players who aren’t a thal, it’s good to be wary of all thals until you’re sure they aren’t trying to lead a group of killers to your position.
Pachy is mentioned as a " honorable mention" because it is unlikely to remain as a target species if the game gets a bit more balanced. Thal's are probably mainly targeted because they are so likely to be scouts. On officials hardly anyone plays thala alone.
Best guide I have seen for official play. Sorry it took so long to find you, A reasonable person that plays path of titans on official... I am now a fan 😮
This is all so true. The only thing I could think to add would be avoiding certain species that tend to be more aggressive like eo, allo, pychno, and meg come to mind if I see one I normally leave the area immediately if I don't think I can take them.
Ah yes that would have been part of player behavior. Pycnos scare me tbh lol. It's either a player that doesn't know how to pycno and one of the easier kills, or it's a player that knows how to pycno and fucks you up X"D.
Well done, Nars! This is a great video with great examples and covers a lot of points I’ve learned over my past couple years playing this game. I hope that newer players will see this! I know I wish I had this when I started playing! I spend 90% of my time playing on officials and all of this is so real. You hit the nail on the head when it comes to the differences in player behavior between officials and community. Also, the feeling of being an outsider in community servers. My husband and I were discussing body language in this game just the other day. It sounds silly to most, but if you’ve played long enough you know body language is so real in PoT! I want to make a video focusing on it at some point. I think I have enough examples by now. 😂 Anyway, wonderful video! Thank you for putting it together!
Lmao I thought to do that too like a year ago but backed off cus I felt like people wouldn't get it lol. You should make it 100%, if you want to talk about it send me a msg.
@@Narsku8833 no one talks about it, but it’s so real! You can get a pretty decent readout of a player’s intentions just by how they walk and look at you or lack thereof. Don’t know if I’ll get around to it anytime soon though. I’m sitting on mountains of footage I need to make time to edit for other videos. 😩
Just want to say if this video does get made by either of you I'd be watching it. There's the obvious calls for body language but knowing how people react to more subtle cues and what even counts is def not talked about enough
Ah yes, great advice while a clips of that funny moment of my poor Struthi- 😂 But besides that, even though I’ve been on PoT for pretty much a whole year at this point, I’m glad I’m hearing the stuff that needs to be said. ^^ 👍
Pretty nice vid. Crouching is a bait commonly, should never trust anyone on officials. Questing is territorial, if someone hinders questing for another group they are a problem. Apexs are target #1, as well as any annoying/op dinos, such as Pachy/Ano. People definitely need to crouch, and hide, and flee other players more often. I'm fine with mega groups, as they are not common, and usually stick to hotspots somewhat. Do not like herbi/carni mixing but it cant be helped. Carebearing is just as toxic as people who kill everything they see, that treat it as Deathmatch, if not even more toxic than these Aggressive players, effectively kills gameplay and any survival aspect to the game. (Think it best for them to stay to community, and shouldn't cross into Official.) (And this comes from me liking both Official and Community, they both have their own playstyles and both can be fun.)
Thank you! Crouching is interesting, as are friendly calls as well. Because usually you can tell when it goes from well meaning to probably deadly. It's all in the manner of how they do it. If someone spams either of these while walking towards you way too fast they are probably going to kill you. It's all about positioning. Yeah mixpacks tend to stick to hotspots, it's usually midtier groups that sweep across the map. But they tend to be blind and easy to hide from. A group of 6 concas might take over the whole server, but hell, they are still something most community servers would have to deal with as well.
Carebears are such hypocrites because the only reason the carnivores in their group can survive is because of the dead bodies of all the starving carnivores in the server who wanted to eat but got ganged up on by a million carebears. If they didn't do carebearing and kill everyone who tries to eat, then the people they're protecting would be killing, too. If everyone becomes peaceful, they all die except the herbivores. It's very telling that you find the most corpses near carebears out of any place. I also dislike people who kill others because they see them killing a younger or weaker animal. No kidding, they were probably hungry and needed food- you just killed them out of some weird imposed morals. If you're hungry of course you're going to look for easy targets
Another tip to give is don’t sprint everywhere! I remember being a admin on a server for a month and dam the amount of ppl that just sprint everywhere is crazy to me and it gets them completely caught out of stam and killed. Biggest spot for this id say is the choke point by talens point on pan map. When players travel from top right and top and right they always feed down to the area and I use to ambush about 30/40 players a day. Shoot one time I had a 43 kill streak in a allo 😂 great vid tho
Note that it's ok to near constantly sprint as animals with high stam and high stam regen. By the time you might be getting low on stam you're already doing something that requires sitting still and when you finish you're max stam again
I’m a bit late, but I did want to say I’m so proud of how confident and well spoken you are in this video. I don’t really have anything to add to the video, other than maybe my Allo feels like an unspoken for victim that is often targeted lol.
Actually helps me with my confidence a little as I've been having it rough since day 1 as someone who just saw my bro playing a dinosaur game and hopped on thinking it looked cool, and in the chat have come across hostility and toxicity to not just grievances but even just ideas (really it's probably better to just not engage at all because evidently there's nothing to gain from talking to bricks of a brick wall).
Getting in to these games can be difficult for sure. I wouldn't interact with people in global chat. I do sometimes, but it's pretty rare. Not worth it. Just ignore everyone. If someone calls you bad, just know people call me bad too constantly lmao. It doesn't reflect reality.
I started solo and played solo for a long time. Then I found a crew but there was too much drama so I went back to solo. Meg, sarco, hatz, and the small fast Dino’s are all good for solo play 👍 Don’t be too aggressive but never run unless you know you’re dead👍 I make temporary friends through emotes only and have no long term allies
I only play on officials and helping new players is been a goal of mine because I know what it’s like to not have any help when I first started and had to learn all this the hard way so I hope many learn from your videos and enjoy the game as much as I do
As far as PAN always grow on the outskirts! Do not go to central as a baba! 😂 ngl I grew most of my dinosaurs on Oceania server then I switch back to North America 💀
The map is full of food. Though if you are hungry I'd eat as much as safely possible and then leave the area. The key point here is safety. Hotspots are rarely safe enough.
Megs have a bad habit of attacking juveniles. And they have been struggling with balancing the venom. A lot of people base their way to play the game to their past experiences, and most people have had bad experiences with megalanias. This means even new megs will tend to turn more aggro because people already treat them as if they were.
I agree 100% on the group thing, I absolutely hate when people just straight up sprint at you from 20 miles away and just 2 call you when theyre 2 inches from your face. At that point I wouldve already bitten them just from defensive instincts and died because they thought I was agressive lol
@@dtbrex08Friendly faking is the one thing I will never do to get food in a survival game. I will kill babies, injured people, my own species, whatever if I am hungry. But pretending I'm friendly and then betraying that trust is my limit. Can't stand those people because sometimes you do end up hurting innocent people who just want to interact as a result of the distrust
The only time official servers is worth is: If you dont care about dying in situations your outnumbered If you have friends to play with If you plan on not giving more salt to the kids, cause its what they want Personally idc if i die on there so im good😂but community servers are good once you get some pals slowly,i highly recommend it
It's all how one wants to play the game. I started on community servers, I intentionally switched to officials because the way community servers are were less favorable to me than 8 hours of growing. So yeah, I know there are people who really struggle with the game on community servers, all I want them to do is give officials a shot. If you just give yourself time to learn how it is there, you might find what you are looking for. That's all. It is not that hostile, it is not that scary and vast majority of people are as sweet or sweeter than those on community servers.
@@Narsku8833 that is true, official does have some amazing people,it just depends on who you find and where you go.Most people if they see that your new they wont even bother with you because they just want trophies lol
To new players.... In conclusion, its too much hassle just to play a game in Official servers. Just play in community servers, there is a lot community servers that fit your playstyle. And you dont have to grow your dino for a week to get it into fully adult, just to be killed less than 10 minutes. If you value your time, then community servers is the best choice. Too many toxic kids roaming official servers. Like, camping homecaves, camping waystones, Killing everything (especially the helpless juvies) on their sight. Too many toxic thing happening in official server, dont taint your soul playing there.
@@Lordyankovich those things don't apply on most official servers. There is no quest ettique or anything like that. Once they spotted you on quest, and If especially you are solo, they Will hunt you down no matter what Dino species you are. They Will hunt you down till the edge of the map if they have to. Im not just saying things, it did happened to me.
@@Narsku8833 That is probably because they know you are famous youtuber, nars, so they ended up playing nice. Most people like me Will have terrible experience playing on official servers.
@@temujinchannel8584 Literally my first laten video was recorded on officials. Nobody knew me back then. You will have a terrible experience if you so have decided to believe.
