why would you need to? If nothing sticks to it, then it wouldn't get dirty or absorb sweat to stink. If it gets dirty, then the coating has worn off and you can clean it as normal.. but if you mean getting it on your hand or something, you can scrub this coating off.. it's really hydrophobic but it doesn't take too much scrubbing to get it off your hands

Ironman Forte Our product can be used on cars but we recommend only using it underneath the vehicle. It is not recommended for use on body panels or windows/windshields because of the translucent white color, It is recommended to try the Ultra-Ever Dry in an inconspicuous area first if color is important. It will cover a gloss paint with a dull, matte finish. Some exceptions to this recommendation is using Ultra-Ever Dry on work vehicles such as cement trucks or off-road vehicles where aesthetics are not as important as cleanliness, anti-corrosion, anti-icing and maintenance.

The reason I ask is because from my understanding some of these water repellants bond oxygen to the outer layer keeping water from sticking. I'm thinking it might account for some loss of friction but probably not much

It'd float a lot easier, but won't have a drastic reduction in drag since being wet only increases the drag by a tiny bit in the first place; fluid shearing "lubricates" most of the drag away anyhow.

This is non toxic, but that doesnt mean it can affect nature. What happens if the nano particles are absorbed by plants, inhaled by anyone(including us) and what if you spray that stuff on bird feathers? Not trying to hippie around, since I think this is awesome, but we better think of where we spray that stuff.

Its not based so much on using nanoparticles as it is a molecular coating which has an angle at its atoms (nano size level) that's big enough the angles of the water molecules can't stick to them.
