@BCWasbrough I had it on Cassette tape. Finally got to see these guys live in 2017 at a Tribal Casino' near my house. The Crowd sang this word for Word ( with Hotel Room's surrounding the stage)! It was 👌 Killer!
@akatripclaymore.9679 I've seen them a bunch after this. Like 97 and on. Saw them last around 2010 when they played Bad Habit the crowd went nuts. We grew up in a great era!
I was there! He jumped right on me to crowd surf! I was the grand prize winner to the award show and never heard of the Offspring until then. I am glad to have found this as I recorded it but lost it. AWESOME!!!
Saw The Offspring live in 1995 and it was one of the most memorable concerts. International Ball Room in Houston, TX. Small venue and it was AWESOME!!!
He never could, honestly, always at least half a tone down. But that wasn't a problem back then, he was a showman and was aware of his vocal limitations.
@Big Daddy Rikka it's not about "pretty voice" it's about vocal range. You can have a raspy voice or whatever and still have an impressive range if you do enough vocal exercises.
Yeah this was aired live on TV back in December 1994. Yeah is pretty punk to sing "Fucker" on live TV and then do a stage dive! This is one of my favorite performances of this song.
god damn it.... i must have been nine or ten years old... my first concert ever, my uncle took me. The Smash tour with the Lunachicks and the Vandals. changed my fucking life forever. they were so fucking good back then.
Wow. Wouldn't expect this video. Greg K jumped and was actually moving from his place. Wow. Dexter was full of energy there. Man. They Really rock there. Now they just play. The only guy moving is Noodles these days 😎 Love the band
Great memories!!! Watch when they cut from him to audience at the 2:17 mark, im the goober waving his arms in the white shirt! ah yes, great times!!! Unbelievable to think that was almost 25 years ago! Where does time go? Its still a totally kick ass song!!! I became an instant fan of The Offspring that night!!!
@@pvshka I had mom (RIP mom) record it back home in Kentucky So I had a VHS copy. I took it to work, it passed around to several people and I lost track of it. Finding it here was so awesome! There's so much more to this memory and story. But that's just a small part!
I saw this for the first time in the winter of 95. I was 14. I knew nothing about 90s punk back then, except maybe some band names. As soon as I heard them, I was hooked.
I didn't have lots of access to new music with no cable and only a few radio stations but I remember this performance on basic TV from a band I never heard of before. Offspring's Smash album was my first CD I bought and was the happiest 15 year old listening to it nonstop on my portable CD walkman, great times!
+Marty McFly It's been twenty freaking years. You try jumping around for 20 years then come back and post how tired you look lol. Jumping is hard on the knees once you get close to 50. Just be thankful they still play.
I dont get how people complain about Dexter being out of tune in the 2010s, he always was BUT that it is what i find makes the band special and every single one of their songs is fantastic so WHO CARES
It's fucking punk rock who gives a fucking shit ? Does people complain about Ramones who can't even sing properly ? It was the shit .. even if the guy couldn't sing for shit ..
Dexters always a little flat but he's not "out". and it's really only the hits where he's out of key. When he sings older/ more obscure stuff where he doesn't scream all the time, he sounds fine.
Smash and ignition were to die for .. everything after that was complete garbage. Might as well lump them in with Green Day and Blink 182. Just awful ..
@@adamdavis4417 Ixnay on the Hombre was amazing what do you mean? Same goes with their st album. There are also a few songs from Americana that were great.
@@adamdavis4417 are you serious? Americana , Ixnay and even Days Go By its a good album! Dont compare the most versatility Punk band with Pop Punk bands like Green Day ... Offspring started with Hardcore Punk in first album .... then Punk Rock with Ignition until Americana and now Pop Punk.
They opened with this song after Higgins did an 'Alternative Nitro Opening' back in '05 in Manchester UK. I have never, and I will never, hear a better opening in my entire life. That original 'Ba doooommm BOOOOOOM, ba doo doo.' Amazing life experiences.
i saw them 3 days ago, dex wasnt too bad, it still moved some wat. his voice didnt change at all, and he sounded pretty much perfect. its pretty good considering hes like 40 +
If I remember right, this played during the closing credits for the show. I was surprised that they were playing THIS song in particular on a "live" broadcast. I also remembered the credits ending at precisely two minutes and nineteen seconds into the performance. At the time, I thought it was a hilarious compromise.
Went over your head eh? The idea was at first to look nice and safe and ans censor himself, the suit represented doing what he is told to do. The moment he takes it off and shows his shirt against those very suits is when he says fuck you to those suits. I thought it was pretty clear symbolism.
Surprisingly amazing performance! In my opinion they generally suck live, but this was incredible - great vocals, intense energy, tight musically, good showmanship. 10/10 for me.
