"Recorded at South Coast Recording.
The band itself released the single on Black Label Records (which the band named after a brand of beer), as a 7" vinyl record.
Only 1000 copies of this record were made, 500 with a sleeve and 500 without, and it took the band two and a half years to sell them all.
There is a limited reissue of this record made in 1994, the same year The Offspring released the highly acclaimed Smash. It has the back cover edited so that it only says "1994 LIMITED REISSUE" instead of "Black Label Records 1986" and where you can write to the band."

I had this. Bought from their ad in Maximun Rock'n Roll in '87. I sold it on ebay to somebody in France about 10 yrs ago... I was going through a phase of selling my records so the younger generation could appreciate them... I regret it now. I sold so many rare punk records from my colkection &. I've kicked myself ever since.

Hoarding is a beautiful thing. Surrounded by your favorite things at all times is lovely.

The Offspring were so much more enjoyable when they stuck to their TSOL-influenced roots. Dexter stuck with his shout-talk vocals, too.

1980's TSOL-aping Offspring is the best Offspring there was

I was so lucky in high school in the mid 90's... Smash was all the rage, and I came across a bootleg that had the first album, the 1986 EP's, and a bunch of non-album tracks from just before the Ignite era. To this day I can't even find rips of some of the tracks on there online. I'll rip them, but I gotta dig the CD out from the storage bin it's in, and I have a lot of shit in bins :P

Chris Murray hey, that was a great response. Thanks for taking the time to share all of that. Sometimes on the internet, when I mention the TSOL-aping (your term, good stuff) early onset of The Offspring, fans tend to get a little defensive. But I don’t mean it as anything but a carrying of the torch, since bands like TSOL helped formulate the sound that other bands like early Descendents did as well. As you noted, the early Offspring EPs and LPs showed this off the strongest, but started to wain by the time Smash came out, which was also when they more or less found their signature sound in pop culture/‘mersh rock. I dig Smash and still think the two biggest singles from it are top of the 90s alt single game, but they’re not quite what you and I are reminiscing about here in this thread either. I start to check out of their material after Smash, but recognize a few bangers here and there. I’m going to try and look up that CD comp you mentioned. I wonder if my dad or any friends had that one back in the day.

@@buddhull I'm seeing this like a year later [as I'm listening to these tracks at 2:30am, classic!] but the bootleg I have is called "The Punk Rock Sessions 1986-1992" and I've never seen a rip online... it was on a "label" called Buy Or Die. Perhaps I can rip it... It's basically the first album [including the last track that was cut from later reissues, Kill The President], the I'll Be Waiting/Blackball EP, the re-recording of Tehran [titled Bagdad], the original cover they did of Hey Joe [way better than the version they redid for a Nitro compilation], and a few other songs from 7" in the early 90's... oh and one of the singles that ended up on Ignition.

The later versions of both songs sounds like coming from a CD, this one sounds much better.
