That performance was seriously amazing. If i ever have the chance i am going to see them in concert. I clicked this out of curiosity and i ended watching every songs and they were all fantastic. Im glad The Offspring are still rocking out and killing it !
Sorry to disappoint you but most of the vocals are playback. You can see it clearly a few times when the production team screwed up and you could hear both his voice and the playback.
The Offspring was the first concert I went, alone with my twin brother when I was 13. This was in Madrid, for the Smash tour and it was f*** amazing. I'm still a fan after 27 years. This concert took me back to that epic night. Thank you so much, love you guys!!
It was self-esteem that got me into the offspring I was a baby when I first heard of them and this song is 27 years old so at the time I first heard it this song was like 4 years old haha and Dexter Holland still is a fantastic singer
@@TheFairway8 Shows what a bunch of nazis the band members are. Good for that drummer! Im dutch and know like 4 people who i knew that died after the death jabs!
@Manuz Diaz only for the first 30 seconds of the gig though. I think they forgot to switch his mic off before the first track started. You can hear vocal doubling for 30 seconds then it just goes to the recording and stays like that for the rest of the e-hem “concert”. At around 53 minutes he actually coughs away from the mic but the vocals keep going. Great band back in the day though.
Dude The Offspring fucking rocks. Their songs still resonant today, and they still fucking jam just as awesome as they did in the 90s/2000s. OFFSPRING FOREVER!!!
@@alegutierrezmusic No, he is not. Daniel is absolutely right, vocal track and some additional sounds are prerecorded. You can very often hear doubling vocal, that is when Dexter sings with the tape. Suddenly it is only one vocal, that is when he stops and just opens his mouth.
After few seconds, anyone who has ever sung live will know that Dexter's vocal track is a playback recorded in a studio, not to mention that it is corrected in Melodyne as well. Sad af :(
@@dedo7326You're right, this guy is Jonah Nimoy doing the rythm guitar, so yeah, he and Dex are doing the same thing, that's why Dex can and isn't playing his guitar during the last song... anyway, Jonah is with the band for a few years already as a tour member, you can see him in 2019 live performances always standing next to the drums. At least Dex was really singing back there.
I really dont think so, I think its just a pretty OTT'd vocal mix - with some back tracks here and there. I could be wrong, but I think its just his awesome voice.
@@AliensAreHoly I wish you were right, but he's constantly moving his head left and right and often forgets about singing directly into the mic, yet his voice sounds perfect, which is impossible. Look at 3:03, you can clearly hear whole phrase 'looking to score', but he moves his mouth away from the mic before 'score' is finished. I guess 54:25 shows it all anyway...
@@zimazla Don't forget the background vocals. They obviously sound great and Todd can actually sing/harmonize in real life but those are tracks in this performance.
saw them 2 yrs ago, gonna see them again in 2 weeks they taking the place of limp bizkit since they canceled their shows 🥺, but I love the offspring so Blue ridge rock fest baby, over 180 bands and 4 days it's gonna be epic
I'm 56 and I LOVE The Offspring....been listening to them for years. I COMPLETELY identify with "Gone Away" as I relate it to the death of my beloved dog.
This is the sweetest thing I’ve seen on the internet all day. RIP to your soulmate and your relationship to this band with that. No owner should have to outlive their pet.
@@paydrough Thank you. And I agree regarding the lifespans...God got it backwards....the sweet, innocent loving creatures only live 10-15 years, but plenty of horrible people including murderers get to live 70-80 years.
I remember buying Smash in 94. God, where has my life gone. Still got it guys. Few extra pounds on the waists like the rest of us, but still sounding awesome!
Awsome! I started to listen music by Offspring in 1993 when I went 13 y.o. and I am astonished the voice and sound is still exactly the same after 28 years - that was my youth! Thank you!
@@mr.brightside1823 Pete left, they didn't fire him. And Josh is clearly a better drummer. Pete recorded all of about 14 tracks with them... Less than Josh. You people don't even know what you're babbling about.
There are bands like Def Leppard and Rush who are loyal and stick by their band mates. Helping them through difficult times. Then there are bands like The Offspring. Long live Corporate Punk!!
@@sbstefan there is a backing track of his vocals that he can sing with. Its not really milli vanilli lip syncing bc he is singing and its his voice, hes just getting some help. Lots of older singers do this, and also tons of singers that dance a lot on stage.
Sounds exactly the same after all these years. I loved sharing with my family one of my favourite bands. They were also shocked to see how great they looked and sounded so much as pervious years. Bands from this time period still are so relevant these days.
OFFSPRING WILL FOREVER BE MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND. EVER SINCE I WAS A KID AND I SAW MY FIRST MUSIC VIDEO OF THEM WAS (MEANING OF LIFE) AND THANKS TO MY OLDER SISTER WHO STARTED ME OFF WITH THEM. HERE I AM AT AGE 36 AND IM STILL HERE JAMMING TO YOU GUYS. I WILL BE OLD AS HELL AND STILL ROCK THESE ALBUMS. OFFSPRING 4 LIFE
Man this performance is so freakin' impressive.. To be able to pull of a show and quality performance like this is beyond my imagination. I know the audience was very limited, but the Offspring deserved that at least 9/10 people, come back home without their voice. Huge shoutout and well played boys!
This was so good i loved watching/listening to it, Dexter you sound great i like your slightly deeper voice it really suits, glad your all still rocking.
