When I started dating my boyfriend I found out that he loved this song and I almost left him because I thought what the hell is this garbage. Fast forward a little over a year later and we're about to get married and I actually like this song now. Good thing I stuck it out with him.
My wife at the time refused to go on a date with me because i was a metalhead and she was afraid i was like into that lifestyle being a bad boy listening to all that loud "wierd" music when in reality i did not even drink and smoke, just work, metal, sport and video games. But i finally got her, now that's me getting tired of her always huggin' me and stuff lol.

You get stoned and space out on a couch not doing shit with your life. Dex and Noodles are big drinkers, and being a SoCal guy myself I see that they are the prototypical types as far as that goes, but I really don't know if they're big on "MOTA" ... They're both laidback and chill as hell almost to the point of annoyance anyway (as I said, typical SoCal) so why would they bother? I think it's just an expression of the culture we all grew up in.
True, they all died cecause of drug overdose, except Cobain. He just happened to be on Heroin when he killed himself.. well, they all contributed to the best music didnt they? doesnt matter if they were on drugs..Drugs was what gave them, their inspiration... like "Purple Haze"by Jimi Hendrix..or "Pool Shark" by Sublime..
@METALSHOK Thats shocking Metalshok. That acquaintance of youre shouldnt change marihuana for heroin then. Shit heroin, scary thing (not when you take it). Never seen it, never known a person that took it. But a lot of my friends (allmost all :)) smoke or been smoking.
The picture occurs for literally less then a tenth of a second, to see it you actually have to pause before it show ups to give the screen time to catch it. Lol, I couldnt do it on here, I had to use another program and slow it wayyyyy down to a .03 play speed.
I think this song is actually pro-pot. The scene with all the different people smoking, I think the message is that lots of people smoke pot and it's not a big deal, but at the same time the protagonist in the song is stoned 24/7 and is a burnout because of it.
I half agree with both you guys,it seems to be a tribute/warning to a lifestyle choice... but most people who get the bad side of weed (as apposed to the normal social stigma) have probably "been there done that" weed is like everything else USE IN MODERATION lol

@DrSmokeTrees considering this, heroin is healthy maybe ? I'm ok with smoking, maybe because I do smoke fat spliffs, but FLOWERS CAN BE DRUGS. And the secretion of endorphin after sport is a drug as well METALSHOK. SO yes, in a way everybody is into drugs
Didn't Hendrix die from a drug overdose? And that guy from Sublime? And I'm sure drugs contributed to Kurt Cobain's death too. And those are just the bands you listed. There's a hell of a lot more famous musicians who've died because of drugs.
