Carranger was however was a change of pace as it was a parody series with it not trying to be serious and it works. Carranger was very much the Den-O of the 90s.

JAPAN IS THE ORIGINAL while USA copied the whole Super Sentai series in 1993 because USA witnessed that Super Sentai was successful that's USA copied Super Sentai by replacing it as Power Rangers in 1993. We did get it somewhat though. My memory is fuzzy. I want to say Ninja storm did it somewhat. Power ranger in sspace, though I think it was mostly brother and sister for that one. I swear one of the other did like her though.

We do see it in short bursts in other spin-offs too: - The Time Force and Wild Force crossover. (Two of the guys from WF liked ex-villain's daughter but she goes out with TF Blue) - Mystic Force (Red Ranger's parents: mom was the Witch Ranger while the Dad was an evil, mind-anipulated warlock) - Dino Thunder (Quickly forgotten as it was addressed and vaguely teased between Tommy Oliver and villain girl disguised as the school principal) - Operation Overdrive (though the Blue Ranger got played by the villain girl to get what she was after)

Yeah I think timeforce had a subplot about the green ranger and villain's daughter being in a relationship.

In Dino Thunder we have a ship between Tomi as Black Ranger and the villainess, they even dance together at the prom in the last episode.

This concept actually is quite popular in the western shows. Time Force did it, Ninja Storm did it twice with two different pairings, RPM did it while also doing the "it is my sister" twist at the same time, more recently Beast Morphers too. Its quite fun.

It's from around 2000s so maybe back then acting was not that important. As long as it's bring joy, especially the idea of having the daughter of the enemy boss is interested in our red ranger. I don't watch the series but my dad gave me a VCD of its movie when I was a child. I remember the most iconic character was the Police ranger, that definitely givings Buzz Lightyear vibe now that I think again. And that guy has a robot that transform from a single unit giant police car, while other rangers combine their cars to become a single robot. Edit: it's mid 90s
